Coupling (UK version, seriously, eff that copy version, it wasn't needed. or wanted.) is still one of my fave programmes ever. Deffo recommended if you can get hold of it anywhere.

You should watch sherlock. Besides the shipbaiting, the story is quite good in my opinion. I think I just love the way the actors bounce off each other very well.
i just love detective story, sue me. I cant remember how many times I have mention the word detective in idb. Too much.

I slowly got tired of the Ponds in the middle of season 6, Moffat really don't know how to write characters, everyone except the doctor seems very flat. And Clara is worse than the Ponds, but her episode when
I miss the good old RTD days where everybody reunite to save the earth. (Journey's End was sooo goood.) The new head writer Chris Chibnail wrote a lot of Torchwood episodes, he's stories has lot to do with the dark side of humanities and stuff, I am quite looking forward to, especially for 13th doctor, Moffat's childish wacky crazy grandpa doesn't suit Capaldi really.

I hate moffat. He's a misogynistic, queerbaiting asshole. Also, I hated that he totally destroyed the concept of Irene Adler as the only person who defeated Sherlock Holmes, and gave Moriarty the credit. And, don't even get me started on how Irene Adler, a lesbian, fell for Sherlock. It was all just so gross
Just trying to spread the Dangirl agenda
Agree with Irene thing. It just doesn't make sense. I totally wanna thumbs you up but there is no option for that, so I just going to reply to say 'same'.jhamba wrote:I hate moffat. Sherlock is such a nightmare, I'm still furious about Irene every time I think about it, and I generally can't stand the way Sherlock is indulged in his awful behaviour? I had more patience for that before I watched Elementary, which is an absolute wonder. I was still in Sherlock fandom when it first came out and was so prepared to hate it, but just couldn't. Sherlock/Moffat alienated me all by itself, but the contrast with Elementary didn't exactly help - it deals with Irene much better!jhamba wrote:I hate moffat. I'm still so sad about Moffat's influence on DW, I was so excited when he was announced as show runner b/c his episodes under RTD were so good, and I actually really liked the first Matt Smith episode, but his failure to write female characters as whole people, and tendency to over complicate things with no satisfactory solutions, and apparent aversion to actual lasting consequences for anything ever coughRorycough just meant the show became unenjoyable for me, though I did like the Ponds at first.

Yes to every part of this. It's like you wrote it from my brain I agree entirely about Moffat, that's the same journey I went through with excitement to disappointment. Why does every female character of his have to have a 'mystery'? Why can't they just be people?internetakeover wrote:Sherlock is such a nightmare, I'm still furious about Irene every time I think about it, and I generally can't stand the way Sherlock is indulged in his awful behaviour? I disliked Elementary on principle at first (and because I was so afraid that they were going to turn it into a romance), but I couldn't keep it up for long. I don't watch it religiously, but I do enjoy it when I watch it!
YAs queen! This season, contestants wise, are lot better than last season, they've got some interesting characters, but it's tpo early to tell anything, so far have no opinion on this.Kurapika wrote:Fuck Superwholock.

Omg this season is so good! Last season the storyline dragged for a who season, but this season it was climax after climax after climax, fuck yeah!syzygy wrote:anyone up to date with Daredevil season 2?

My top 3 so far is Thorgy, Chi Chi and Bob.akui wrote:YAs queen! This season, contestants wise, are lot better than last season, they've got some interesting characters, but it's tpo early to tell anything, so far have no opinion on this.Kurapika wrote:Fuck Superwholock.

Anybody else watch Chicago Fire/PD/Med? Archer, OITNB, or other Netflix goodness? I'm bingewatching my way through Buffy at the moment (Phil's fault...!) - hoping to have finished it before new episodes of anything else go up.

Derrick have the potential to be the next Courtney Act, but somehow I feel like she doesn't have what it takes, we'll see.
BTW what is up with Naysha Lopez, like who even is she? I can vaguely remember her face but she is like the most boring queen from the last season, which was a season full of boring queens.
I'm watching OITNB an House of Card! Can't wait for the new OITNB. Also I'm watching The good wife, Brooklyn nine nine, shield, once upon a time and grimm, and the 100, damn I watch a lot of shows.IckleMissMayhem wrote:Anybody else watch Chicago Fire/PD/Med? I love OITNB! Can't wait for the next season.
I'm also watching House of Cards (haven't watched the current season though), Scandal, One upon a time and How to get away with murder. My roomie and I are watching all the Dexter seasons at the moment, we've never watched it and got addicted.

Buffy. It's as amazingly cheesy and 90s and fun as I remember it being when it was shown on BBC2 yeeeeeeeears ago. It's good nostalgia. Give it a try.

Buffy is amazing. I would say the first couple of seasons are not my favourite but season 4 onwards it gets much better. Season 6 is my favourite season ever. A couple of episodes in 6 are in my top 10 favourite TV episodes ever. If you just want to watch one episode watch, Once More With Feeling. Best episode ever!!sunday wrote:Love love love OITNB. I have also been watching Game of Thrones only on Season 3 need to watch them all for when season 6 starts on April 21. I love it. It is very intense and can't binge watch it like a lot of shows though.

i just watched the new episode of rupaul's drag race, I'm glad
got sashey away, she is nice, but she is just too ordinary.
I'm glad in this episode
and derrick apparently don't have what it takes to be the next courtney act.
I'm glad in this episode
Um exqueeze me (late season 2 &) season 3 is the best Buffy season and that is fact jk kind of. If anyone's just starting Buffy (or thinking about it), fair warning, season 1 is not representative of the entire series! (Especially the first few eps). I find it fun in a nostalgic '90s way, but the awful valley-girl speak tones way down so don't let that put you off.Kathrynxjane wrote:Buffy is amazing. If I'm being completely honest, you could probably skip season 1 (except for episodes 1, 2, 7, and 12) because S2 is when shit gets real in all the best ways.
Buffy seasons ranked from best to worst IMO: 3, 2, 4, 5, 6, 1, the entire series of Angel, piles of rotting garbage, 7
Also, Angel is a pretty good series with a similarly awful first season. Once Wes stops being a clown, the series picks right up. And I absolutely love season 4, fight me.
Thanks and have a great day! Oil me

I was so, so into Doctor Who during the Nine/Ten/Torchwood era, but my passion for it just didn't survive the showrunner turnover. I tried still watching through Eleven's run but the tone and directions just shifted too much for my enjoyment. Makes me sad, a little, but eh. It happens.
I'm generally a pretty huge scifi fan. Farscape, Stargate, Battlestar Galactica, any/every Star Trek (even the new movies, though I have a lot more nostalgic love for the tv shows). Right now The Expanse is the only good scifi I've found, but I'm always up for recs if anyone has any.

i'm the biggest drag race stan haha. Season 8 is shaping up to be my favourite season so far as the whole cast is just so godamn lovable. Chi Chi is so fierce & hilarious, Thorgy is oddly fascinating and captivating & Acid Betty... like, she's clearly not got a good grasp on what is regular and polite social etiquette, but her drag is so wonderfully creative and weird, I love love it.
I'm not even going to start on the whole Irene Adler thing or the general way lesbian characters are treated by TV show writers as it irks me to absolutely no end. like... they're either the creepy-butch-no-boundaries stereotype, somehow falling in love with a man (despite being.... a lesbian???) or being killed by a stray bullet or toxic envelope glue. It's deeply depressing.
