im just rly glad dan isnt into rupaul's drag race oh boy that would certainly annoy you.
Didn't Phil say they filmed like 4 videos. I think she just put in Dan's video mention because she knew he was uploading today....sweetmm wrote:Will there be an AP collab with Louise?kuensukki wrote: Now we wait for Phil's video, I enjoyed his christmas one with Louis so I'm sure I'll like what they come out with!!
Thank goodness looking forward to that I prefer Phil one on one with Louis collab, as Louis tend to act too giggly and all over the place when Dan is around (a bit forced?). I'm looking forward to a more relax and less chaotic set-up.kuensukki wrote:Didn't Phil say they filmed like 4 videos. This post doesn't even make sense. Dan's worn that shirt and coat before, they look good on him, he looks fine, there's no way to tell when he most recently showered...like...I just don't get it. Also, he's out and about in that pic, which shows some level of independency.spaceguitar wrote:Found a #problematic post:

I've seen posts joking about Dan being "a mess" with regards to all his tweets since Phil's left, but that all seems very jokey and nowhere near as disrespectful (probs a better word out there but I can't think of it) as this post.
lmao! i was gonna say the exact same thing. are they really the picture of "motivation station"?trashqueen wrote:lolsweetmm wrote:

but yes. definitely want to hear them discuss this. want more comments to overthink.
That doesn't even make sense because he looks... great/same as usual? That person seems more like they're demonizing trench coats rather than romanticizing codependencyspaceguitar wrote:Found a #problematic post:

Edit: greatnessflicker beat me to it with the same thought lol oh well
Ok I have to actually go watch the dinof video now though I spoiled myself by skimming the thread. Didn't Phil tell the napkin story in a liveshow? But coat threesomes and alpha males... Off I go

But you know what?! Now I'm curious about what they are going to say on the subject... Yes, tell us more about it
edit: ooops rizzo, same lol
Ughhhhhhh see okay, it's cute and funny to joke about dan being lonely and tweeting more and mentioning phil on twitter a bunch when he's left, I also get that it can be cute to joke about how they're more socially awkward without each other/clumsier or whatever, but when you start implying "everything I do to take care of myself relies solely on my s/o" then it's like, is that really a cute thing to joke about? Is it "aw adorable #goals" to think that someone has no reason or motivation to be healthy and clean without someone's help?spaceguitar wrote:Found a #problematic post:

Not to mention it's super offensive? Like, Dan looks completely normal and ordinary. Where are they getting this idea of "hobo who hasn't had a shower in a week" from? I thought he looked great? If someone were to imply that about me, I would be SOOOO pissed.
(Sorry, I'll restrain myself from going off (even though I already did). Anyone who wants a recap of how passionately I feel on this topic can look at my old posts, lol. Terribly sorry for the rant. I need to catch up on sleep or something. )

I feel passionately also and really hate when people treat Dan like this. I'm glad that people on this forum can recognize how unhealthy this mentality is.pixlexia wrote:Ughhhhhhh see okay, it's cute and funny to joke about dan being lonely and tweeting more and mentioning phil on twitter a bunch when he's left, I also get that it can be cute to joke about how they're more socially awkward without each other/clumsier or whatever, but when you start implying "everything I do to take care of myself relies solely on my s/o" then it's like, is that really a cute thing to joke about? I think he did, because I think I remember hearing it before too. No luck in trying to find it via live show summariesfancybum wrote: Didn't Phil tell the napkin story in a liveshow?

He did tell the story. I think he omitted the napkin being on his crotch He said he had got it stuck on his feet and had walked through the restaurant with it attached. I remember thinking it was a toilet paper form the bathroom but this new story puts everything in perspectiveesso wrote:I think he did, because I think I remember hearing it before too. I found eeet: story starts at 21:30
I'm sure he'll tweet it out tomorrow for a boost; he probably wanted to leave it to Louise & Dan today as it was kind of their mutual collab day.
Why don't they acknowledge Dan is in Florida already? We all know it! Ok we don't for sure but come on
[offtopic]Also in case anyone missed it, crabstickz totally attempted to stream himself playing a video game on his channel today. Hmm..

I'll be honest, I don't think the part you hate is as much of a branding as you think it is. I think the dinof brand is more genuinely Dan, and I get why someone would dislike it (I am a lot like that brand sometimes, and honestly, a lot of people don't like me, but the ones who like me love me), and while it's played up, I think it's a genuine and significant part of his personality.danphil333 wrote:i just thing its a big part of his brand and his persona more than anything else. he plays it up and most of the time it feels dishonest to me like the innocent AP the cinnamon roll sunshine. Godammit! I try to socialize for a few hours and miss out on videos being uploaded. I'm going to use this as my excuse for why I'm always slightly tipsy while posting.
Don't have much to say about the videos since everyone has said everything already. However, currency conversion always mess me up. When they mentioned the meals being 130, I thought 'wow! that's a lot, but it's not mind-blowing considering it's a fancy restaurant and they had so many courses.' Then I went to actually convert it into a currency I'm more familiar with, and I take that all back. 130 is a ridiculous sum.

I'm 99% sure Dan is wearing one of Phil's shirts that I don't think I've seen in the in 'Dan wears Phil's clotehs' catalogue in the thumbnail of that video. Why did he even bother to deny that he wears Phil's clothes in the first place? It wouldn't have ever been weird if he had never denied it.Stakhanov wrote:

This sums up my thoughts almost exactly. I usually find PJ a bit boring, but liked the last video a bit, and have been finding Pewdiepie quite funny recently.spaceguitar wrote:[offtopic]I thought PJ's video was ok. It's probably the video of his that I've watched that I like best, besides Bloom ( I think that's what it's called- I thought that was beautiful). I just don't find Pj very funny- a little boring. On the contrary though, from what I've watched of pewdiepie, I think he's hilarious. Whatevs, taste is subjective. That's something important that I've learned from this forum. Though tbh, people get along best w people who share their sense of humor, so I guess taste is important.[/offtopic]
I could see this. I mean, if people can argue that they think Dan is straight based on the idea that his previous admissions to being bi were just a phase, then I don't see why you couldn't make the same argument towards him being gay as well.bedhead91 wrote: Also, unpopular opinion time, but I'm going to have to agree with what cora808 has said before that I've been getting vibes from Dan lately that he's maybe not actually bisexual, but gay, or bisexual but leaning more towards men. Just speculation though.
Besides maybe the fact that they showed up together, I don't see how the waiter would have thought they had any relation besides friendship unless they were interacting in a more intimate way. From that vlog video, they weren't even siting next to each other. I'd maybe let that pass as a half finished thought or joke he didn't know how to complete, and he had brought Phil up in it because he is so used to mentioning Phil every 3 seconds.rizzo wrote:This! Hello forum.
I was suspicious about the pitching of the video, and so I went and compared the explosion in this video, and the explosion in another.

Just woke up to a 30 minute DINOF. I thought I was still dreaming!
Well that was a amazing. I could listen to Dan and Louise talk all day. I wish they hung out more and Louise vlogged it more! They are my favourite friendship after of course.
I can't believe people said that there was no chemistry. Have you watched the Hazel and Phil collab that had so little chemistry compared to and Louise. They actually sound like friends than just co-workers. NWW is what tipsy talk could have been.
Good on Dan for not chopping it up. He really could have taken loads out and made it shorter but he didn't. I think I liked it more because I am just as awkward as them so can relate to everything they say.
Phil said that there was a Louise collab on his channel so I can't see wait for that.
need more Dan and Louise in my life.

i just rewatched NWW and it was 10x funnier the second time
two things i noticed the second time (probably been mentioned before i haven't read through everybody else's reactions yet)
dan's reaction to louise's ihop meltdown
the noise dan made @ 8.53
going to watch again for good measure
on this day, we have truly been blessed

Yes, I also noticed this! Also, all anyone in the comments could talk about was how deep Dan's voice sounded. Now, why the video's pitch has been fiddled with is the question ...Vivastian wrote:Hello forum.

If anyone hasn't seen my post about them sharing clothes, I've included it under the spoiler. It'll eventually be included in the FAQ page once we get that up, but I figured I might as well post it here too for the time being.
Do Dan and Phil share clothes?
busy being happy~
I think DINOF is a very extreme, dramatic representation of Dan Howell and his beliefs. The main characteristics like insecurity, vulnerability, existentialism (to an extent), awkwardness with social interactions can be extended to his real life personality but they are extremes. His tendency to self-deprecate is also present in how he tries to hold is videos at a high regard but in terms of other areas of life he seems really confident sure of himself. DINOF was created for the masses, alot of his statement and opinions in old videos were made on things he had read or heard not exactly him. The #relatable portion of DINOF is the only one that seems forced to me. Dan Howell (the one in livestreams and vlogs, DITL) comes off as really subdued, yes he has this sarcastic humor/he's loud but its not as dramatic as DINOF. He is actually alot weirder than he lets on Like when I am watching a gaming video when he takes the back seat and just goes with the flow this is when I appreciate Dan best. The relaxed calm Dan that can slip in a joke that will have me dying. (ceramic bitch being the best recent example)jhamba wrote:I'll be honest, I don't think the part you hate is as much of a branding as you think it is. Same goes for Phil and AP. I see the word persona being throw around quite carelessly. Like this Louis video I thought I saw some geniune Phil Lester who under no structure crumbled. He tried to overcompensate his dread of where the conversation was going by bringing in inanimate objects like Poe and the stuffed dogs to lighten the mood. A part of me feels like he's stuck being the child entertainer. I want to look for any signs that he might want to break out because he certainly is struggling to incorporate the image into collabs. That being said AP really is an exaggeration of Phil. Yes it may be extreme but the small little qualities that make Phil Lester are in AP like his awkwardness, love for animals, mismatched socks and ,even (as we discovered recently) avoidance of any serious subjects including things like mortality. He really does like to keep topics positive and lighthearted and he does seem to be caught in some strange situations.
To sum up my feelings, they both have personas but their personas are essentially exaggerations of the qualities they possess.
