Other YouTubers thread
Ummm so the Rock has started a youtube chanel and he used a bunch of big YouTuber's in his intro vid. Lilly (superwoman), Grace, Markiplier etc. Haven't watched, but thought I would alert the masses. Saw it on Instagram. 2 comments in. "Where are Dan and Phil?!" that would be quite the collab....they would look petite for once!

Woah, I have fallen deep down the rabbit hole following this Marina Joyce story.
If you're not familiar, the long short of it is there's this British vlogger who started acting reeeeeaaallllyyyy suspicious around Dec and the general thought is that she's either being held hostage, or she's on drugs and having a psychotic break.
Here's some of the story:
http://www.snopes.com/2016/07/26/what-h ... ina-joyce/
She made a really weird Twitter post yesterday telling people to meet her at Bethal Green at 630am (the wording makes it seem like the meet up was to be today)
It's possible she's suggesting meeting up with people before some weird alcohol-free rave that's on Aug 3rd that she had previously posted about.
Friends of hers have posted things like "the police are looking into it"
But pretty much everyone connected to her is saying to stay away.
This is the only tweet that's straight forward:
And even Emma posted about it just now:
My guess? Drugs. But it's a super weird situation.

Same here. I can't stop thinking about it. I'm thinking either drugs or mental illness. I'm going back and forth between 'everyone is being nosy and needs to stop' and 'she might actually need help and the Internet is helping somehow'. I honestly don't know. Guess we'll just have to wait for more of the story to come out. I really hope she is okay though and she can get whatever help she needs.cora808 wrote:Woah, I have fallen deep down the rabbit hole following this Marina Joyce story.

Piecing together bits of stories, friend comments, and her alone, it does seem like it's a mix of both drugs and mental illness.
There was suggestions from people that have interacted with her that it may be schizophrenia paired with drug use.
A nasty combo with nasty outcomes if not treated.
She did a live stream last night and people were asking about the bruises on her arms. At first she said "I was in an accident" but quickly changed it to "The answer is private and really sad and upsetting and I don't want to talk about it online but trust me when I say it's really really sad."
That was...not awesome.

I just hope she's okay. I did think it might be abuse at first, but I can't believe some people thought it was ISIS. There is so much misinformation about this subject and it's quite dangerous. Whatever her struggle, I just hope this drama dies down and that she finds help if she needs it.

Had a "small world" moment scrolling my tumblr dashboard today. I follow someone who is a pretty big fan artist in the harry potter and les mis communities (she's involved in more fandoms, too, but those are the biggies), and she made this text post about the youtube community:
link to text post so you can read her tags or whatever
I thought it was funny but ultimately too vague (who is "the vlogging" community? who exactly is she shading) for me to care much about it. Then I got bored and saw it again and decided to look at the notes. Lo and behold...
Yeah, that bryony. I don't know much about her (had to check to see if that was really her own tumblr), but i thought that was interesting to say the least.
(same tumblr user {the fan artist} made this post a while back and I always wondered if it was about dan lol)

Have you guys seen Thomas Sanders's latest Vine? It's hysterical and I think it' s kind of cute he's trying it clear to the world that he and Leo are not just friends.

There we go! Yes, it's great, and confirms without any possible doubt they're dating. As if with this picture someone didn't believe it:
They make a sweet couple and that's all I have to say
By the way, I thought he was small but no, he's 1,78m, so it's just that Leo is humungous

Hannah Hoffman was chosen for the next up program! Her new vloggy vid is about it. I like her v much, so I'm excited for her. I'm happy to see someone who just starts doing something for fun and turning it into success.
Also she confirms that the porn tabs were a joke. Haha.

Thank goodness, I was so worried for her . I didn't even see the 's' on the end of the tab otherwise I would have known for sure it was just a joke.Winston wrote:Also she confirms that the porn tabs were a joke. Haha.
I'm totally not one of those, as she put it, "sweet concerned citizens" who emailed her
OMG. Those of you that subbed to Trisha Paytas have you seen her newest video? I didnt watch it just the idea is so disgusting. 100 layers of Cum I mean she has a lot of questionable videos but that one.... ugh.omean I am sure that isn't what it actually is, but just saying that for the title.

Haven't watched it (and won't) because I can't stand her, but FYI it was Shane's fault. It's probably lube or something. Just checked the description, yup she says it's just lube. I mean this '100 layers' trend is dumb af so I'm all for people taking the piss out of it but I doubt her ability to be satirical in an entertaining enough way to make watching the vid worth it. I don't think that sentence made sense but the gist.. yeah. That.Winston wrote:OMG. Those of you that subbed to Trisha Paytas have you seen her newest video? I think is kinda sad, I do agree and feel the same things as him, but yeah, I'm one of those people who's anti-pills for this issues.Ticia wrote:

I mean you can't fix something as complex as your brain, with pills, you have a sore back? that's when you take a pill, you can't take a pill to fix emotions, I think there are better ways to deal with that. Also I have someone I know (young around Charlie's age) that recently almost died because depression pills affected his brain and then his kidney. So it is just not "I don't like pills" just for the sake of saying it, but they are sometimes dangerous that's why I don't trust them.
Back to the video I guess I feel a little bit sorry and yet not sorry for him. Right now I'm havin' massive anxiety issues because I went yesterday to my first driving lesson and failed and nearly crashed so I'm terrified of leaving my house and do it again , so I skipped class today because I'm immensely tense and I can't even think about it and it made me lose sleep.
I could go on and on, but these things are massive issues and I would be here all day talking about them.

In my opinion, Charlie knows exceptionally well how to tastefully express himself on social media, even on such complicated personal potentially stigmatized topic. The video was just the right amount of personal and still does a job of spreading awareness. Respect him a lot for making the vid. (also I'm a bit of #charliestan)Ticia wrote:

Also, I’m aware that it’s not right to say in reply to a video like this, but it’s the kind of level of openness or dialog that’s unfortunately I don't think we can expect from Dan or Phil in the near future or ever. Granted, Charlie's audience is in no way comparable to Deppy's etc. etc., but it still makes me a bit sad.
Anti-depressives are not for "fixing emotions", but to regulate the influx of serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine. That's the main difference between "sadness" and "depression": you can't treat a substance imbalance in your brain with oranges or long walks on the beach.karlitatvphan wrote:I think is kinda sad, I do agree and feel the same things as him, but yeah, I'm one of those people who's anti-pills for this issues.Ticia wrote:Thoughts?

I absolutely agree with you vicentian, it shocked me at first how beaten down he looked, and I was even expecting a crying meltdown, but he was tasteful and just the right amount of personal. I sincerely hope he feels better in the near future

Ticia: I see your point, I'm not an expert because I haven't dealt with my depression medically but my mom took pills and I honestly didn't see any changes, for her the solution, as always, has been faith, but everyone is different I guess. Still bothered that a young/nice/talented/kind-hearted guy I know almost died because of those pills so I can't help but being against them.
vincentian: I see what you are saying, I don't know in which thread I wrote about Deepy and their private life. But I think they deserve the right to decide to talk about family members, but they're not robots, and now that I think about it I've never seen a video when they were open about their emotions in any way.

[offtopic]I'd just like to pop in and say I agree with you Ticia, there's scientific reasons for antidepressants, they're not magic pills that cure all, but they absolutely do help some people.Ticia wrote:Anti-depressives are not for "fixing emotions", but to regulate the influx of serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine. I'd like to say that I personally am on antidepressants and they have improved my life tenfold. It's okay to be against pills for yourself but I think advising someone else against pills is not okay, I think that every person should make their own decision in their own recovery plan. It kinda makes me sad to see people being so negative about pills when I've had such a good experience with them. Hopefully my stance and experience can shed some light on why people take pills to those who are against them.[/offtopic]

^I'm sorry if I offended any of you but I never advised not taking them, I was just saying I'm not their biggest fan. In my culture at least is not like that "take a pill for anything", so I'm sorry if I offended you but that's what I think, taking pills is just a trust thing, and I do not trust anyone or anything. In good terms I say I'm sorry, if they helped you, that's great.
