hey i saw some of you post connie's video? and i also wanted to post a video on a youtuber exclusively talking about dnp and their decline, so here ya go!
I'm getting tired of this war of hearts
This competition that has no end
Do me a favour and cut the ties with that side-eyed glare of yours
That cuts through minds and wills

Sarah Z usually does pop-culture and fandom type videos but her latest one is about capitalism and the way brands use their social media presence and advertising in 2018, it was really interesting and she delves quite deep into its history and made me thing about a lot of things. I'd recommend it and also would want to hear what other people think.

I have to share this video because it made me actually full on cry laugh. It's got some familiar faces like Tomska and Dodie but I think Reb makes it so damn funny.

Do you make mistakes or do you make a change?

Interesting interview (brief mention of Dan and Phil near the beginning):

I don't have much to say about the video itself except that I'm glad she took the break she needed, and I enjoyed how respectful and honest she was while still maintaining her brand of humour.

What I mainly took away from this is that the more youtubers I see taking breaks, announced or unannounced, and whether that becomes permanent or not, it's almost a necessity at this point to avoid the really bad, maybe even really public, burn outs or breakdowns, and to be able to maintain a career. It's a pattern I've at least seen with people who seem to actually be passionate creators rather than people grovelling for mostly money and fame. And I also think it just adds to the fact that youtube is such a shit place to create, whether that be the people on the platform or the platform itself, and while I think that breaks or burn outs and the like can be a natural part of the process as a creator feeling your way around what your creating, youtube is a bit of a cesspool of toxicity which just adds fuel to the fire. I do think people like Liza--or others who have taken breaks and honestly spoken about it like Elle Mills--speaking out is important and a good conversation to have, but it does shine a light on the fact that youtube is weird and unstable and often toxic.

I'm a big fan of Molly Burke and have been watching all her videos since the Shane Dawson series she was in last year. She has a lot of great content and I've learned so much about the blind community from her videos. She's so inspiring, and also just seems like a great person all around.

I came to post the video from today specifically, which made me cry and feel a lot of things. Trigger warning for anyone who deals with anxiety, specifically around attacks at large gatherings (which has been my main source of bad anxiety for the past few years, but I've started to conquer this year). The video ends fine - it turns out there was not actually an attack. But damn, hearing the story from her perspective, as not only a human being, but also with the addition of her being blind in this situation, is really intense; but there's also moments that restore faith in humanity, with the people who helped out, and it just made me feel a lot.

Here's the video if anyone's interested:

i haven't watched kingsely in so long, he basically dropped off the face of the earth and i didn't know he made a "comeback". I mean there's only 3 videos on his new channel but I came across this video. His thoughts are probably really popular amongst the youtube community and i think its worth checking out

Good on him and all of them, I was just reading The Guardian’s article and “specialist police spent two hours unsticking protestors from windows” made me snort. Also this guy looks how I feel when I actually think about it :snow:
