Interactions like this always fill me with a strong sense of ergghhh.

Tbh I don't think I can see Dan and Safiya's humors working well together for a collab -- I don't know if they'd mesh well enough, and even if they do and the two of them get along really well, I can't really imagine that it'd create a super entertaining vid. I can't think of anything specific that makes me think it wouldn't be fun/entertaining, but I would not be too excited to get a Dan/Saf collab.
But also I may be biased because I just think it's so cute how Safiya very obviously wants a Phil(/Dan and Phil) collab and has been interacting with/mentioning Phil since 2017

My favourite Phil collaboration of all time was Anthony, Dan, or a Rat? Phil keeps control during that whole video, and it’s great one.

I totally agree with every Tyler and Dan video. They’re just great.

Least favourite of all time with me was the one with Alfie Deyes. I felt really uncomfortable for Phil during it.

As a massive fan of the 4th wall: why. I don't understand why people willingly go out of their way to say stuff like that to people in their irl lives (I mean...I do, but still). I would argue that Louise's "Not Worth Watching" with D&P is even worse. I scroll to my favorite bits with Dan, because watching the whole thing just makes me uncomfy af for Phil.

In general, everyone's posts have gotten me so excited for the idea of collabs. I wouldn't even be mad if Dan's second video was with Tyler. Like... sign me up???

Man, I have nothing really of value to add other than the fact that dnp’s
recent activity made me get hit with a sudden wave of nostalgia for December 2013 (and how excited I was to watch the radio show when I was younger... )

Gotta +1 to the Phil & Hazel collab, I think they both shine the perfect amount. I always find myself rewatching that one :’) Also a fan of Dan & Tyler’s collabs, I feel like they have the same brand of suggestive humor and play off each other well lol. It would be interesting to see them collab in 2019 because they evidently still get along, but they both seem to have changed a lot since their last video. Wonder how the dynamic would shift (if at all)!

This is an amusing idea to me. I think Anthony would totally go for it if Dan wanted to, but what would they do? Something music-related, sure, but Fantano’s videos tend to be heavily subject-oriented and not as reliant on his personality, and I’m hesitant about whether Dan would want to have his musical opinions exposed to and criticised by a whole another type of audience. Speaking of audience, Fantano stans (who do exist) tend very male and often hugely into their stale- uhhhh I mean dank memes and I’m not super keen on that crossover scenario tbh. Also agree on the high awkwardness-potential. It’s a collab that is definitely not happening though, I don’t think Anthony’s going to vidcon and he doesn’t live anywhere near LA so w/e.

I have no nostalgia for the days of “all the youtubers” going to vidcon and making videos with each other, and their collabs with other people generally aren’t my favourites (I’m sure there’s quite a few I haven’t even watched if I’m being honest) so yeahh I’m in the camp of rather seeing them make a video with each other, but of course those things aren’t mutually exclusive so. Don’t want to prejudge, something like a Safiya collab could turn out to be lovely, I like her. I guess the potential for the variety and quantity of content coming out of vidcon is high, and that’s exciting? Still a bit surprised that it’s actually even happening, though.

The real question is who’s gonna sign up to time stamp other creators vlogs for background shots of DnP that were 100% intentional in order to gain views (talk about nostalgia for the old days). Calling ‘not it’ on Cat’s!

Collabs are so hit or miss with them, but I am excited for the prospect of any content. IG stories (please), selfies, the m&g photos!

Also, if we’re talking dream collabs, +1 on Phil and Jenna being ~32 year old people~ and a Dan/Tyler reunion

Oooh my mind immediately went to collab possibilities when their Vidcon appearance was announced, so I’m loving this discussion!

I’ve been wanting collabs with Safiya or Jenna for ages, although I know they probably won’t live up to my wildest dreams. Still, I’m not asking for much. I’d love a viewers pick my outfits with Saf or a simple video of them meeting J&J’s dogs, like the one they did with Cat and her puppy back in 2017. Phil attempting a crafty project with either (complete with commentary) could be fun, or maybe just a complete disaster. Who knows.

+1 to the Dan and Tyler collabs too! Their Cards Against Humanity vid is easily in my top 5 Dan videos and all the others are top tier content as well. It would be really cool to see if anything’s changed in the last few years. Also how did I forget about Anthony, Dan, or a Rat?? That was one of my most watched videos in 2017, it’s beyond time for a rewatch now.

I really hope we get a Phil video in the next few days. I’m not expecting anything from Dan, but I would like to see more of Phil than just his foot this week. (That was...not a sentence I was expecting to write today. Can Vidcon and all its potential content please come faster? I’m impatient.)

This conversation is reminding me of how many collabs they did that I just blocked from memory. I totally forgot they did one with Alfie. But Alfie's one of those people who was a Dan and Phil fanboy in the beginning, right?

Yeah iirc he talked about sending Dan messages about collabing way back in the day? In a video I think? I can't find anything about it but I swear I watched something like that...

Vidcon seems pretty non-dan and phil to me, as does 5 months without joint content. I think for better and worse they're throwing the rules out the window. I'm not even sure what unexpected to expect at this point.

Reminds me of that time the fandom had a breakdown over someone's leg (that they said Dan posted on ig and then deleted immediately). I would take that with a big grain of salt unless someone here actually saw it.

That's like....very obviously not Dan's face. Like Ablissa said it's really just another leg thing. Sigh. As for phandom ~gates I guess nothing will ever top the brilliance of phangate.

That's fake, the person who posted that on the credited ig account said so too.
Also, when people claim that dan/phil had posted something but deleted it right away, in my most cases that's a sign of a #phakenews.

My favorite Phil collab would always be Phil and Hazel’s Tipsy Talk. It’s really nice to see them just chatting and Hazel is genuinely impressed by Phil. I also love Phil and PJ together. Their collabs may not be the funniest, but the vibe of the video is just so comfortable and chill. They really like each other as friends. Also I love how conversations between Phil and PJ could go way south. Also: Phil’s collab with Stawburry is super cute.

I like the Dan and Anthony collab. It’s funny af. It’s one of my most watched videos with Dan in it. Dan + Tyler is obviously great. The strange porn video? Peak comedy.

Ngl, there are some collabs with other people and D&P that I find painful as f. I cringe everytime I remember about it.

I've been listening to people (not huge creators, people with under a million) talk about Vidcon and about seeing creators that they 'grew up' with and being nervous and excited.

But also a lot of people talking about how Vidcon itself has changed and Viacom buying it. I wonder if they just offered Dan and Phil a lot of money to be there because Viacom has deeper pockets? I wonder if Dan and Phil are gonna hate that less homegrown setup or if they're just gonna do what they're being paid to do and keep to themselves otherwise? Are there gonna be people there they wanna hang out with at the parties?

Also, wow, Vidcon are proud of having Dan and Phil. This is on the rotating main page of the site.
