the post above and the media speculation reminded me of that CURSED interview they did where the guy basically asked Dan: "people think you are gay, so are you gay?"
Imagine how scared he must have felt.

I just keep thinking of so many situations where he was taken by surprise or put in the spotlight and had to react quickly but couldn't say anything. It makes a lot of sense why he just wanted to stop doing content before posting BIG, even if things happened in the middle and he started thinking of a life outside of Youtube, he was tired of lying all the time.

We saw from Tyler's video that he never asked them what their deal was but we also know because of Evan Edinger (ugh) and his Twitter exchanges with Emma Blackery and this fandom that their relationship was discussed a lot in the YouTube circles. And I mean, no one is surprised but I tip my hat to dnp because they've been through so much shit and I don't even know how they coped.

Talking of cursed moments, that Lion Babe clip from the radio show always hurts my heart. That second of pure shut down panic makes me so sad for him and what he was going though at the time now that we know what we know.

I saw that and it really feels like clickbait to me, which if true is kinda crappy at a time when people are already stressed out and have increasingly fewer things to look forward to. Someone observed the colouring of the logo has changed; perhaps a rebranding? I feel like with them trying to create ~suspense~ it isn't going to be a total ending, at least not forever. But we'll find out soon, I'm sure.

Assuming a return to normality, it's hard to tell whether D&P would go to the currently scheduled con in Mexico 2021; the dates are very close to the book launch and I'd imagine Dan will be in full promo mode by then. (But, maybe they could tie it in somehow, who knows.) Of course, that wouldn't stop Phil from going if he wanted to... But who knows how things will be by May?

Not timestamps, but just random thoughts rewatching the video now that I have time:

First up, moving hill check in. Because this setup is very easy to recreate I studied the background a bit. The pickle, the rose quartz, and the fake plant are missing, but the plug seems like it's in the same place and the lava lamp/plant are in the same place so I think they're still in the flat for now.

I appreciate Phil putting trigger warnings in the description. I'm not someone that personally needs them (for anything in this video) but I just appreciate how in tune with his audience he is. It's a gesture of genuine care for them.

He showed that list of symptoms and said he had two, maybe three, of them. He mentioned sleep issues and cramps - between Dan's depression/anxiety related insomnia, Phil's anxiety dreams, and now Phil apparently sometimes not sleeping for digestive related reasons... I'd say those boys have maintained their night owl badges.

I know 2020 is a weird year when a Phil video unironically contains the phrase "a little bit up the butt."

He said his concern started when Chadwick Boseman died, which was August 28th. I'm guessing this all happened within a couple weeks after, so about a month ago? I wonder if he filmed the video then and held onto it for a while or if he just waited a few weeks later to film it.

The "after this year, sign me up for half an hour of light sedation!" made me legitimately laugh. I kinda love Phil a little. (A lot.)

I like that this is a very positive-experience type of video. I feel like this would be a super reassuring video for anyone about to have a colonoscopy to watch. He describes the experience but doesn't talk about pain, doesn't even make the prep sound that bad besides the not eating, etc. And it has a happy ending!

Him saying the scare was scary - with his family cancer history over the past few years, I'm sure it was. At the risk of sounding mushy, I'm proud of him for both going even though it was embarrassing and also for advocating for other people to get stuff checked out when they can.

He could have filmed it a couple weeks early and had Chadwick Boseman's death being "a month ago" be accurate, or earlier if he tailored that line to when he anticipated posting. He did say on Twitter that Bake Off was on when he couldn't eat, which implies 9/22 at the earliest for the colonoscopy prep, so probably not too early for filming (although he could just have said that for comedic effect)? I hope he gave himself at least a little time to recover before jumping into making the vid.

I was looking back at past Octobers and lots of major deppy milestones took place in this month over the past 5 years (in addition to Hello Internet and PINOF 11 years ago). Tabinof was released and Tatinof kicked off, the YouTube Red originals premiered, the charity single of TIIH was released and charted in many countries, Truth Bombs was released, the mukbang/II DVD announcement,, and through it all, spooky week and Halloween baking! Then last year Phil went to the dog show and started weekly live shows again (technically on September 29). This year we’ve gotten Dan’s Attitude cover and his podcast interview so far, but I’m greedy, I want more this October!

I got my latest order of Phil merch in and holy crap that mask is huge. I've recently discovered that child size masks fit me best so... there's no way I'm ever gonna wear it. I didn't even take it out of the package or try it on, there's no point. So if anyone wants it, drop me a private message? You don't have to pay for it or anything, I just want someone that might actually get some use out of it to have it.

I also got his doodle planner since it's on sale. I don't use a planner usually but my work schedule has been so lately that I'm filling in for a lot of people and I decided it would finally be something I'd use, to keep track of when I'm filling in for specific positions on random days. I even bought a set of my favorite pens to use it only to get it and... realize the pens don't work on it. I think the aim might have been for a higher quality feel but the pages on the inside aren't 'normal' pages so my beloved Uniball pens never dry and smear. I've ordered a set of Sharpies to use instead because Sharpie does work and stick quite well. But I'm a little bummed. The pages also make that really gross sound when you run your fingers down them. Idk, maybe it's normal for planners, but I kind of wish the pages on the inside were just regular paper. It is cute as hell though.

(And I got the Norman socks but no complaints there. Please continue making socks forever, Phil, this is my favorite merch.)

Ooh I'd been hoping for another Phil appearance on a gaming stream! PJ mentioned the other day that they might be playing Phasmaphobia with a special guest and I had a little hope in my heart that he meant Phil but I wasn't letting myself get my hopes up.

I've been watching quite a bit of it as it's a hot game on twitch atm, I think they are all noobs so their gameplay might be a bit clunky as they learn the weird mechanics but for those who are curious it's a ghost hunting game where you go in with a team of people and use tools to determine what kind of ghost it is and gather evidence. I don't find it that scary to watch but I understand why it's quite scary to play. I hope the servers are in good shape for them tonight 'cause people were having trouble with them last night.

I assume both PJ and Will/Arden will be streaming simultaneously, so if you want to watch you can choose either stream. Arden's chat is usually in slow mode, but I don't think PJ's is (unless he changes it cause more people come for Phil and it gets chaotic, I don't know if he has many mods), and I don't know about Gab's chat, but I assume she will be streaming as well.
