Oh my God, if Phil was on Taskmaster, that would make my life. I think he'd be really creative at most of the tasks and then panic at the rest.plinthofmylife wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 10:41 pm Double posting again because I had a post that got eaten by the forum a few weeks ago, but feels relevant now:
My internal scenario is that Phil has been relatively quiet not because of his health issues or burnout, but because he's filming a season of Taskmaster or Celebrity Bake Off or something, since those often happen in the summer.

I mean I mostly want dan and Phil to be the next task master Hosts together after Alex and Greg on taskmaster… Dan is the one with a faux sadistic top that gets all the credit while Phil is the one with the ideas and weird games that is actually running everything, and Phil is, just like Alex, only an inch or two shorter than Dan (greg) but would look tiny on a shorter chair.
But my SO and I were tossing around it would be hilarious for DNP to be on taskmaster as a team of 2, compete against all the other individuals. Why? Well, things never are truly fair and they would be hilarious solving these tasks together.

Oh I am intrigued by this! it seems pre filmed in a chunk so I'm guessing it will be daily the last 10 days before tour starts or something? We already know the 4 tweet prompts which I assume will be different videos, + Phil collab, and maybe answering questions while playing with cats because that's also a known format and I'm very excited about.
But I agree, there is something so funny about him making a trailer for some youtube videos that are basically tour promo, all under the tagline of "Giving the people what they want" that they used heavily during II.

Hi guys, I need your help.
A couple years ago Dan name dropped an app game that he was obsessed with and I downloaded it too and also became obsessed.
The game consisted of a ball that bounced along and you had to make split second movements and decisions about where to move it next.
Does anybody remember its name?
I miss it and want to destroy my life again.
Thanks.

The original seems to be gone, but I'll find a knock off. I just really need a great puzzle or ball game that isn't tiles or EDM music.
I can't believe it's less than two weeks until the tour starts! I'm so ready for some daily content, even if it's only for a week or two. I've got everything crossed for a joint video on Phil's channel for some extra last minute tour promo as well, I realised the other day that it's somehow been 8 months since their last one?!

I'm definitely excited to see what Dan has in store, and I'm cautiously optimistic that maybe the daily content will start soon? If not today then maybe on the first.
We're also due for Phil's monthly members post so crossing my fingers for that.

With all love in my heart, I think it would be just a tad funny and classic if this "daily" content peters out in the middle. I want him to succeed and not miss goals, but I've also been following this dude for over 10 years and have never seen solo daily content from him despite his claims and commitments (except for social media posts, perhaps). It'll actually feel like old times if the daily thing doesn't happen

I think he knows himself well enough by now to not promise something that is not already done. I think he has a batch of prefilmed videos that are scheduled to be released daily, probs during the last week before tour starts.scientia wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 3:14 am With all love in my heart, I think it would be just a tad funny and classic if this "daily" content peters out in the middle. When the tour starts I don't expect any youtube videos, but hopefully some fun IG stories!
This is a genuine plot twist for me, because I was honestly a little nervous about Dystopia Daily. It felt very second-hand-embarassment-y for me... but no. I LOVED that! I love that he's just putting it all on the table and ready to have dumb fun.
I'm so excited for the next segment!!
Also - the ending?! I'm preparing my self for the absolute LEAST surprising information.

I surprisingly enjoyed that! I was worried that it would be a little too navel-gazey but it felt very self-aware, very tongue in cheek, very...Dan. And I've always loved Dan. I'm glad he found a way to make creative content in his own terms.
ALSO, did anyone else peep the credits in the description? Sophie as producer, Phil as creative producer, Louis Grant as the art director, PJ on animation... It feels very much like a labor of love that his friends all pitched in to help with. It makes me feel some sort of way
Very excited to see the rest of the episodes!

Don't mean to be unnecessarily negative, but, I don't think this will be a success for Dan. It feels too corporate, overthought and overproduced. That's not what drew people to him in the first place. I don't think it will do well in terms of views, other than when Phil appears.
People want to see his authentic personality, not this like kinda performed, rehearsed version of him. It's the same reason I'm apprehensive about the stage show (even though I've bought tickets). I like him as a content creator... but not really as a comedian, in the traditional sense.
Its why his instagram Q&A has a lot more views than all the segments from his pride show, other than the one that's clickbaited as a gay crush tier list. That's what people want to see - casual content.
I hope I'm wrong.

It gave me a lil cringe but all dan videos give me a tiny cringe because that is his style of humor. Think this is a good move for him.
