Not my idea, but there was talk here last week about making a topic with music that reminds you of and I couldn't find it yet, so I've decided to make it! Hope it's in the right place. And I hope I rightly understood the idea for this topic.

What are your songs that remind you forever of D&P or that you always associate with them?

Mine is this one: Marry you by Dísa
It's maybe coincidence since I was listening to that song all week when I really really discovered them and bingewatched A Lot of their stuff, so now these are forever linked together.

I've been waiting for a thread like this, thank you! I have a ton of songs but for now i'll only list a few.
"I Get to Do It With You" by Garfunkel and Oates
"Ocean Eyes" by Billie Eillish reminds me of dan to phil in so many ways.
"The Happy Song" by Kate Micucci aka the same girl in Garfunkel and Oates.
I really love her voice, ok? and the cereal bit at the end does it for me
"Friends" by Ed Sheeran (cliche i know but you should have seen this coming)
"Brighter Than Sunshine" by Aqualung
Tied up in ancient history,
I didn't believe in destiny.
I look up, you're standing next to me -
What a feeling.

What a great thread. Mine are:

"Unbreakable" by Westlife. This song was released back in 2002 to deny the rumour that they're going to disbanded but this song is really about unbreakable love and that really feels like dnp for me. (and im not even sorry for sponning westlife)
"Always" by Yoon Mi Rae because the theme is I can't help but to fall in love with you
Love is forever

How come I didn't know this song. This is NOT OK. (love how everybody is crying about their friends-to-lovers ships in the comments  )

Could somebody post the playlist from tatinof here again? I know it was somewhere in the main thread but I can't find it anymore.

Jesus! I never heard "friends" before. Are we sure he doesn't ship them, and decided to do some fic writing, but because it is Ed Sheeran he turned it into a song? My god

That was my first thought too, but the lyrics could apply to a lot of "friend"ships in general.
Then again "Thinking out loud" always screamed DnP to me and then I found out it was in their tour playlist... damn. What is the secret connection between them and Ed Sheeran

I think they included the song in their playlist after the phandom lost its shit when the did a little dance to it at The Brits. It was another song, just like Toxic, that the phandom then associated with them.

Just incase you haven't seen it, here is the clip of them dancing

As perfect as Thinking Out Loud is for them, it was them including Still Into You that really maxed out my 'oh my god, you're sappy idiots' chart.

Also Hooked on a Feeling - because I actually like that song a lot and it gives me great joy to imagine them singing it to each other. It seems like the kind of song they'd do a ridiculous duet to, missing or changing half the words.

The song Sofa by Ed Sheeran will always remind me of Just the message of the song and the fact they've been to almost every place mentioned in the song.

Thanks, yes that makes sense! I've of course seen the clip but somehow never with the underlying music. But this clip you linked is also an edit, right?

True. WHY do they have to be like this I hate them. This is the same weird mix of trolling and sap as letting your sims get married at exactly 20:22.

And to finally contribute to this thread I'll say Florence and the machine - Caught (of which there doesn't seem to be a decent version on yt :sideeye: )

Same for these two. It was actually this phan vid and not that brit awards dancing moment that made me associate 'thinking out loud' with D+P:
And it was this precise radioshow moment that made me think they looked cute together. I was a lot more of a casual viewer back in those days lol.
These songs also remind me of them:
Everything has changed - Taylor Swift ft. Ed Sheeran
Cars and Telephones - Arcade Fire ...because I found this phan vid:
The funny thing is that I seldom watch phan vids but the few I did watch clearly left their impressions on me :thumb:

Yes! Dan and this song are made for each other. I've seen a few edits of it, like this awesome one:

I really like this thread
Basically any sappy, romantic song makes me think of D&P in a fan fiction-y way, but a less sappy song that reminds me of them is called Everybody Knows (mainly because the first time I heard the lyric "See the love through the leather" I had flashbacks of Dan and his leather shirt).

this song keeps turning up in my spotify suggestions
and it makes me think of them on the last day of a japan holiday, up on the highest floor of a hotel, one of those kinds with floor to ceiling windows, watching over all the traffic and everything together
