I was waiting / wishing that they would do some wheelies with the bike, but I guess they aren't all that athletic in Yandere either ;)

I personally love that Phil's weirdness comes out again bc Dan says let's be nice and chat to people and socialise and Phil is like

[offtopic]Apparently Vidcon is coming to Australia next year and I can't wait to see what Youtubers are actually going to come here. Also very excited for Australian Dan & Phil shop. Finally I can buy things without paying the value in shipping [/offtopic]
I'm curious how much shipping is to Australia... The US shop shipping charges are comparatively steep to addresses within the US, so I'm not sure if there is going to be a lot of savings. (I think the fulfillers in the US are hiding a "handling" fee in the shipping charges...) Royal Mail to my address in the US is roughly the same as shipping charges from the US store. And you would think the turnaround time would be quicker as well, but it's not necessarily the case. Shipping time from Florida to my house should be 2 days, but it takes about a week for things to show up, about the same time as it would be from the UK. But again, AUS is a bit farther from the UK than the east coast of the US, so there's that
I'm hoping it works out cheaper, but knowing Australia post this will just make it worse and more expensive . The last time I ordered something it took two days to get from the uk to Aus, then a week to get to me in a main city. Good to know that I shouldn't get my hopes up until I see it. Shipping to Aus always sucks

Lion Guard - I just can't.... so so cute, so so proud! Watched the full thing after "acquiring" the ep yesterday evening, and just. Yeah.
Good to see Disney writers still slipping in the innuendoes into kids stuff. And they gave those lines to Dan. Angel cinnamon bun bean must be protected (Got to say though that I haaaaaaaaate when voice actors get changed/replaced. Fake!Simba noped the f**k out of me!)

Yandere Simulator - Liked the video, kiiiiiind of want more of it to find out wtf the game actually is. But one thing I do with Gaming vids, (not just ) I watch them for the people, not "playing" the game. At the end of the day, it's a beta version of a weird little indie game, but I enjoyed watching them have fun with it. :thumb:

Wow the Youtube glitch thing must really be affecting Yandere Simulator, I'm absolutely sure it had about 400k views and just now I checked and it had 353,837 :? Unless I'm mistaken in which case nvm me

But yeah those numbers on both Yandere and Millionnaires is really bad, and I doubt it's because people aren't watching

I hope they are aware of the glitches and it doesn't affect their motivation too much, I get how it can bring them down if they see the view count

I know about the glitch, but I don't think the view count on the Millionnaires is necessarily really low? It has 800,000 views and is 20 minutes long. Four of their Spooky Week videos that have been up for over a month now haven't hit a million views yet so I expect the Millionnaires vid to get to a million easier than those. Of course those videos might also be affected by the glitch in which case my comparison would only be relevant if the glitch affects each video with relatively the same amount, not if it's random. I agree that Yandere is very low though!

To be fair the hand needs a bite sometimes  ahem what

I'm not too sure on where the glitch works and where it doesn't, but I'm guessing recent videos in general?

Gosh though, I'm not even a content creator and the numbers thing stresses me out. I can't imagine having numbers as an indication of your actual future/income. A lot of gaming Youtubers are turning to Twitch now, and beauty gurus use spons to the maximum. Where does that leave personality vloggers? It's kind of scary tbh, like with Vine shutting down and such

Well, he could relate to the sentiment , or perhaps he would like John to cosplay as his backpack

Not much to say about the last video, but the absurdity of the last two minutes had me cracking up!

I am very late to give my opinion because I was contemplating for a long while whether I should post it or not.

Because, contrary to most of everyone else, I found the Yandere Simulator video to be more enjoyable compared to Who Wants to Be A Millionaire and I don't really know why.

But what I know is that I can't feel what everyone feels i.e the millionaire video is the best they had done so far. I try rewatching the vid again to see what did I miss, and besides the phonecall with momma Lester in which I found quite cute, there is nothing in the gaming that 'hook' me. I also can't feel the tense vibe from them while playing the game, so probably the problem is with me(?) I don't know. The vid is good but there is nothing about it that stands out among their other vids.

Meanwhile, i found the Yandere vid more enjoyable. I enjoy their exploration of the game, looking at all the little things because that is the way I play my game. I also found myself laughing at certain parts of the game, and I really want them to come back to this and explore other way to get the senpai's attention / find a way to cover their murders better. Tldr; I like it and want more.

I feel insecure writing this tbh

Yep!

I just can't wait to see what game they put out today, been a couple of strange days and a classic console game is al I need.

Yes, it is!

Also, Dan said in 2009 (I think it was in formspring) that he was the little spoon ;)

(I am aware he said he was the big spoon in 2012 in vyou, don't come at me)

This is so fucking cute.

(And then I click the tweet and see that most of the replies are people @ mentioning Phil or about Phil and some of the cuteness is replaced by secondhand embarrassment. But still mostly cute.)

Please don't feel insecure! You're entitled to your own feelings and opinions on the videos. There's nothing wrong with preferring Yandere Simulator over WWTBAM. We all have our own perspectives, no shame in that at all.

I mean, in retrospect, I enjoyed Yandere more than I initially thought I did after watching it for things to comment on, but there were aspects of the game that reminded me of things in anime I was very glad to leave behind. That feeling kind of overshadowed my enjoyment in the end.

I haven't bothered to compare the two games because of that. I did love their return to the couch and console more than I did the computer, though. I really want to see more console gaming in between the computer gaming.

hopefulemm Your commentary was amazing and I really enjoyed reading your points; thank you for taking all that time to write them out

Mini rant under the spoiler about Yandere Simulator (not too important; please continue with your day if you want :D ):
My last, additional comment on the Yandere Simulator vid concerns how polarised Dan's opinions are sometimes regarding individuality. He openly claims to support and encourage people to live their lives how they want to -- then calls the girl standing alone by the tree in the game a "loner" and "tree reject" derisively? :? I mean, sure, I'm probably taking his response to virtual characters way too personally, lol, but some of us like to be alone in crowds I had similar feelings when they go up to the group of girls and Dan claims they all "look like they're from Tumblr." Way to generalize a community, as well as chastise your most likely demographic for being 'different' in w/e way (i.e. most likely just their hair colour). Basically, I can never tell whether to take Dan as joking, genuinely reprimanding, and/or projecting, as he himself has claimed to be different and a loner in the past. He's so confusing, smh.
That Phil-liked tweet I screen-shotted, just in case :D
The anti-phan part of me: he just finds the image of a human backpack amusing.
The pro-phan part: he can unconsciously relate *coughs* and liked it without really thinking.

While Dan did say that he likes to be the little spoon (and that's the first place my mind went when I saw the tweet), I feel like this doesn't really mean anything. I know most of you here aren't taking it that seriously, but really, some people other places are acting as if this proves phan. It doesn't make any sense as Dan is barley taller than Phil, so this tweet barely applies to him. I'm pretty sure he just liked it because he thought it was funny/cute. Let the man live

Re: WWTBAM, I really liked it, but then again, I play bar trivia (maybe I'm saying I did really well in their game, excepting the UK pop culture focused questions like the multiple births and the soap operas.)

Re: #viewgate: IDK how I feel about this. PewDiePie says he's closing down his channel once it hits 50M subs, in protest? (He then says he'll start afresh...) Maybe YouTube is adjusting its algorithms to suit auditing standards demanded by advertisers who ultimately pay them? The advertisers do demand accurate stats. In TV advertising, there are independent companies that provide detailed metrics to advertisers about who is watching what program - and not the networks (which would be a conflict of interest...) YouTube is analogous to a television "network." I think the industry is still working these things out.

Yandere simulator: I thought it was pleasantly weird. I wouldn't play it myself, as I am currently immersed in BF1 and its glorious violence and superb graphics, but I do like the cherry trees. (I also love the cherry trees in D&Ps Japan t-shirt - the combination of colors against the black base color is stunning.)

I find this interesting. I personally did not feel put off by Dan's comments, maybe b/c I know that he kind of feels like a loner? I feel like he definitely has his share of social anxiety. Idk, for that reason it seemed like a pretty innocuous judgement to me. Also I found the hair color being attributed to tumblr funny. Its not really a negative generalization, is it?

It's a cute tweet to like but I'm cringing at people overreacting to some kind of hidden meaning in it. ~2 inches in height difference does not a backpack make. Personally I'm enjoying his like of the drawing of him & Dan cozy under Dan's blanket together way more.

And I'm hoping for a Dan vs Phil today! Maybe a Mario Kart rematch please. (But they'll probably wait until later in the month when they're getting desperate to start re-doing games lol so in that case maybe we'll finally get Undertale!). Either way it's a strange and wonderful feeling to know (..maybe probably) that there's another vid on the horizon. Unless they're attacked by a cat.
Thanks and have a great day! Oil me
