I also didn't mean it as an attack to anyone in particular, I saw it around on the social media sphere and then saw a post here as well and it just.. irks me in a way it's hard to explain, because it happens.. All the time? Maybe not with the same force but it does happen and as far as I remember the opposite doesn't happen when Dan does things. Now my memory is shit and maybe I'm wrong, especially since Dan hasn't done anything in ages, but when he did the Tier List stream to me that sounds more like a Phil idea than anything but I didn't see anyone say that obviously Phil's hand was on it (or maybe there was but not as vocal)Phanshy wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2020 1:28 amI didn't mean it as a personal attack I guess I just see it a lot and get defensive. I'm not sure how much they discuss YouTube stuff anymore since they apparently hadn't discussed the future of the gaming channel when Phil did his Q&A at vidcon.rizzo wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2020 12:49 am Feel like I should clarify that I wasn't giving Dan credit/points for the merch. At the end of the day it's Phil's merch and Phil's concept. I was just having a bit of fun. They're literally attached at the hip.... surely they brainstorm ideas together.![]()
It's obvious that they give each other opinions and advice on things, I don't doubt that, it's the reaction of the phandom that gives me pause. It's like...
Like if they weren't Dan and Phil, but they were a generic straight YouTube couple, and wherever the woman did something good, that people deemed enjoyable for all, then oobviously the man had some input into it, but the opposite doesn't even cross people minds because duh, yeah maybe they TALK but he obviously does things by himself, he doesn't need HER imput. That would give me pause and makes me pull a face.
Yeah, sometimes it feels similar. Obviously we're not talking about misogyny in this case, and I'm well aware I took a harsher example than needed, but that is the vibe it sometimes give.
Anyway, sorry, rant over
