When I've been whining in my past two posts about wanting some Phil content? Something easy, filler-y, the bar was low, I really just needed the distraction from the world? This is exactly what I had in mind. Thank you Phil. I feel like he could've easily found a few more things to add in to get to that 10 min mark though, c'mon mate (no actual hard feelings though)

As soon as I realized he was sorting through a box of stuff sat in a weird place (definitely convenient to have the table but he's done similar things at his usual background) and mentioned the odd mic set-up I was like, ok, commence moving theories lmao. I'm not super convinced or invested but if it's true I will be glad.

Every time Phil mentions finding something 'under his bed' I'm always like suspicion mode activate, like where was it really? Under your actual bed, under the old amazingphil bed if it's still around? Somewhere else random but slightly more sensible like a closet? It's an odd collection of things 'cause some of it is more personal like the photos and the school report but then other things are complete random, unopened tat. Color me confused and unconvinced about the actual origin of this box.

That david boreanaz picture lmaooooo I always thought it was a hilarious gift, absolutely the kind of joke gift I would get for a gay friend. (That and the sexy speedo man apron) I remember Phil talked about it in a liveshow? iirc he said Dan got this one cause it was the only one he could find or something? Smells like bs to me. Good to see he's still floating around though.

Enjoyed the video even though i wish it was longer. I do think Phil still hasn’t quite gotten rid of the mentality that videos have to be short, incredibly energetic, and engaging, even though Youtube no longer favors those kinds of videos. But Phil never fails to make me laugh!

I agree that the plain background and whole concept of a storage cleanout seems very suspicious; I’m hesitant to join moving hill though just because people have been predicting moves for years. Who knows though! If they are moving, it would be a strange time for Dan to release/annouce a project. A lot of stressful things at once.

For me it comes down to... God, am I just excited to see his face regularly again even if briefly. Whatever this project is - even if it's the worst book of poetry ever - it's gonna be something for us to chew on instead of having the same five conversations over and over. And also, poetry is just like, rife with things to analyze.

Also whatever this project is, if his activity is a lead up to something (which I'm sure it is, book or not) it's already blessed us with mostly naked Dan in a lace kimono on a sad pimp blanket. It's earned its keep.
His pattern is starting to remind me a lot of Troye. I love Troye to death, but he is a terrible communicator with his audience and falls off the radar for ages at a time except when it’s time to promote a new song/album, then all of a sudden it’s a wash of content that makes you forget the long intervals of nothing.

It’s frustrating because creators like Dan and Troye are of course incredibly savvy and know that their social media audience is critical for their success, even if their ambitions carry them away from their youtuber roots. I just kind of resent that there’s such a deep audience loyalty (that gets taken advantage of) that will weather the dearth of content until the next project.

That said, I agree, I am looking forward to more of his face and whatever product/content he’s wanting to push. Bring it on, Danny.

I love how many people are trying to figure out the ball reflection online:
I agree with whoever said there’s a Dan on the couch on the left...

so weird that just last week (?) there was a debate on here as to the whereabouts of the david boreanaz picture. i'm with inanerat about how none of these things were a) in that box or b) under phil's bed, so jury's still out on the answer to that one

also the reflection on the ball is clearly the fridge/oven section of the filming flat kitchen. am i the only one who realises this lol

Re: the reflection, the ball distorts the size so it looks funny but I'm pretty sure that black thing on the left is the box of stuff and lid propped up to the side on the table. Then to the center left is the fridge and oven/microwave, then the white pillar and the rest of the kitchen to the right, with the counter part of the island where the hob is in the lower right. I don't think you can see any of the slounge from the reflection.

imo the only things that would be possible to see in the reflection that would be indicative of moving, since they don't really use that kitchen at all (lol) would be the magnets being taken off the fridge or the red an yellow boxes being down from above the sink, although some of them may be not there anyway since Phil uses some of them in his usual background set up. You can't really see enough details to tell either of those things so I'd say the jury's still out lads, sorry.

I am confused, though. Does the kitchen in the filming flat have wooden floor?

Amiaw wrote: Sun Sep 06, 2020 3:18 pm There are only a few things that I really wonder about with the flat. I wonder where that deer bedding and headboard is that Phil showed in his video last year and I’m also curious about where they keep all of their personal stuff like that picture of David Boreanaz or the art Adrian gave Dan for his birthday last year
Bringing this back because I feel like that David Boreanaz picture was a personal shout out to me  but it seems like we're back on moving hill again. Interesting that he dropped this video without a members post or any kind of lead in because he's been pretty consistent lately. I'm actually convinced that if they haven't moved yet it's imminent because there was some furniture rearranging in dan's photo and now in the filming flat the plant behind phil is gone and he's organizing things....a lot to think about.
Phil’s video was fun, though the ending did feel abrupt. I too loved the missing half of PE story and Kath hanging the giant teen magazine photo of him in his old room.

Now obviously since I read the title I thought moving, but I’ve been on this train for so long I’ve actually become a bit of a skeptic. Every time it comes up I believe it less. Obviously moving will happen and they do seem to be planting seeds now (they also seemed to planting seeds a year ago), but I definitely don’t think it’s already happened and I’d like to dispel a few myths:

The background is not empty, he literally just put up art of the wall and it looks so much nicer than hoisting that giant plant onto the table and putting it in shot so that it *doesn’t* look empty (it just looked like the plant was about to eat him). The peace lily is still there, on the floor, where we’ve seen it before, it’s in the reflection, don’t panic people. And behind the scenes... or off to the side it’s a freaking mess, but definitely not empty. Now the vase that I assume came with the place is a tad suspicious and the phirana plant bouquet looks ridiculous coming out of it. I’m docking off points for aesthetics Phil!

And the furniture being moved for Dan’s photoshoot? The tv is where it was, the stuff around the tv is where it was, the snake plant might have been moved in a bit closer for symmetry, the floor lamp was moved in shot for ambiance and I agree he seems to be on the coffee table. I bet the angle wasn’t right with the tv acting as a fireplace for Dan to lay on the actual floor. But that’s all just part of staging the picture.

One day you’ll be right and we will all celebrate, but sorting through things on camera with the possibility of doing it again feels like early days. Plus Steve needs proper weening. I’m so tired.

I’m mostly having fun with the moving theory. I have doubts too but the main reason I’m more inclined to believe it this time is because they showed their neighborhood and it was so recognizable people were leaving comments on Phil’s video that they lived by him.

It’ll happen when it happens but we get so little to talk about these days it’s mostly a way to stay engaged

I really hope this isn't a long vague build up (I'm the least patient person in the universe), I think people are as hyped as they could possibly be about a unknown project, so just tell us.

YASSSSS!!! Dan’s project approacheth and I, for one, am THRILLED!!!

I’ve waited too damn long. And my body— nay, my SOUL is ready.

(Also a smidge nauseous and nervous, but Dan does that to me every time he drops new shit because you just know he’s gonna ~reveal~ something.)

It says it won't be out until May 2021 - I wonder if this is him trying to control the information flow since Good Reads already sorta spoiled it once?

Ug

I was kinda jazzed by the prospect of a memoir from Dan, but not a book of poetry. I'll admit, I'm a total poetry snob. I can't abide all this modern crap that reads like it was composed by people throwing darts at a board filled with random words. But even putting that aside, is that really what he's spent the last year doing? Writing crap poetry? Prove me wrong, Danny boy, please prove me wrong!

I don't want to dread your content.

I'm really not comfortable with him writing a self-help book around depression unless he's collabed and consulted actual mental health experts (which doesn't seem to be the case so far). His experience doesn't give him anywhere near enough knowledge to guide other people through depression, and he should know that. Very hesitant about this book.
