Honestly i haven't seen Phil be so openly soft and proud of Dan since the boncas and that just made me so fucking soft for them. sneaky proud boyfriend moment right there and Dan's comment just made it even better

Well, I'll be watching that video a few dozen times over the next month. I appreciate how much that felt like a gaming video, particularly dan's ear-curdling scream.
That last 30 seconds my heart melted.

I'm having so many feelings rn. Mostly soft and mushy because how can you not after Dan thanking Phil for his support and snack feeding. And then that little message from Phil at the end there. And Dan's response. Do they want us to buy that book or do they want us DEAD?
Also a little stressed because if someone would do that to my hair I'd cry a lot and idk how Dan was still laughing but I guess that's what love does to you?

My heart is so full watching this video. I'mma choose to believe that Phil posted this video specifically for my b'day and it's off to the best possible start with this masterpiece of DnP cinema. Seriously, I want to rent a cinema and watch it on loop, it's so perfect.
One of my favourite lines by Dan was definitely 'I've been thinking about our life over the last ten years...'.
Dan's appreciation of Phil and Phil's secret message to Dan... I can't process everything right now, I'm going to need another hundred re-watches but the vibe is very the last few seconds of Daniel and Depression which always struck me as such an intimate love letter to Phil. After talking about how important surrounding yourself with support is to then showing a series of bts snippets of Phil... It's amazing how loudly they can express their love for each other without ever saying the words outright. I love them to bits.

Guys, I think I'm going to need a full 24 hours before I can bring myself to watch this video. Just reading about it has made me emotionally fragile.
Did Dan say he was going to upload again? On his channel?
I wonder if it's going to be jumping off point for what he wants to use his video platform for in the future. He's said he doesn't want to be a regular youtuber, but he did also say he wasn't done with the channel. Perhaps larger projects connect to mh and lgbtq issues uploaded once or twice a year? Maybe ones that involve other people and organizations? Perhaps he's going to explore the intersection of mental health and lgbtq+ issuesI.

I know he's not going to do anything thing like that because as passionate, political and opinionated he is sharing potentially controversial opinions (even about music tastes) makes him nervous and that's Contra's bread and butter. So the logical space for him to work in seems to be positivity centric advocacy.

Never thought Dan would be so bold as to assert he's a top in a public forum. 
Also, I gotta say - I want to appreciate how much the audience and youtube comments in general have gotten better. At the very least the bad, terrible comments that would come from such a video circa 2010-2012 are buried under positive ones.

I just woke up and watched the video (having been out at a pub last night) and... that ending. I was laughing out loud the whole way through but then dan’s message to phil and phil’s secret message at the end? what a wonderful thing. i’m crying tears.

Oh boy, i just watched the video and I am not okay and I am saying this in the best way possible. I want to say more but I am too overwhelmed. I just love when they allow us to see the most vulnerable and sincere part of themselves and their relationship, I live for that. Also the video was hilarious, it was a good mix of things I crave from them, so I am happy.

Ok, forgive me because it is the middle of the night but I've woken up and have been mulling over this the past few days and wanted to write out some of my thoughts.
One thing I haven't seen any discussion about and something that has bothered me a bit about Dan sometimes before, but has become more pronounced now is his use of the word 'crippling' to describe anxiety. It just has a really :/ feel for me. I know it's not a Dan specific thing, it is a somewhat common phrase used to describe anxiety, but I feel like it's a potentially harmful one that's worth avoiding.
And I definitely consider myself to have only surface knowledge of disability activism, politics and theory, as well as not being currently disabled or ever part of the disability community myself, but from what I know, cr*pple can be seen as a slur, specifically one targeting physically disabled people, especially those with mobility issues. I know in some cases people reclaim it, or the shortening 'crip' as part of their disabled identity, but it's definitely a word with very negative connotation and a difficult history that should only be applied to someone who chooses to apply it to themselves, not used by others.
Especially while Dan is being a mental health ambassador and having mental health be an issue that he talks about a lot on his platform it seems harmful and irresponsible to me. And I get Dan's book is very broad and general (from the idea I get), more focused on anxiety and depression as things that everyone experiences at some degree at some point in their life and not necessarily more 'severe' mental health issues (I don't really like the word severe her as I feel like potentially creates a hierarchy or deflects stigma from one thing to another, but I can't think of a better description right now) or mental health as it starts to bleed into things like BPD, schizophrenia and overlap more with psychiatric 'disorders' and eventually mental disability. But in a lot of ways there is a lot of overlap and similarity in stigma like what Dan talks about with depression and anxiety and ableism stigma against disabled people. (To be clear I think mental health stigma with things like anxiety and depression are two prong: one being the stigma of being open about emotions and struggling with emotions, the second being ideas of 'functionality' and it's connection to worth, which is the one that overlaps with disability stigma). Anyway, while is some ways different, Mental health, dealing with mental health, especially once you get into medicalized mental health (taking medication, etc.) there are many connections between mental health and disability.
So I guess tldr is I wish Dan would choose a different word to describe strong anxiety that makes it difficult to function that isn't 'crippling'. I don't really have any amazing suggestions of replacements, in my life I tend to use 'debilitating' which I think is a bit better but not necessarily great. There's definitely still issues with it and it's connection to the entire mindset of 'disability' and being 'lacking' in ability (a slippery slope to lacking in worth and humanity) but I do find it a more literal and accurate description of how anxiety can cause you to be unable to function.
Anyway, please continue being emotional about the video, I am too, but I would also love to hear people's thoughts on this.

I don't follow the deppy world much anymore, except just watching Phil's vids when they're out, but I yeeted out of doing work to watch that video and no regrets.
Idk in this video it was like I was reminded of the certain Dan&Phil magic they had when I first discovered them? They're genuinely so funny and I really missed them. It was like meeting up with two friends from school I haven't seen in a long time.
That, and Phil's little message at the end
as much as they both shrug off meaningful praise and compliments it was so nice how he made that little message at the end to promote Dan more when he was underselling himself in the video. Phil is such a good friend (friend? lol) and it makes me sappy to see just how much he supports Dan even in his own quiet ways. It would have been fine just to drop an end screen if he wanted, but he made sure to leave a personal video message too!
