They look exhausted as hell. Their schedule is insane--no time to rest after this show, as they have back-to-back shows for the next two days. Idk how performers do it. I've never felt as close to entertainers as I do d&p so I've never really been concerned for performers' wellbeings or considered how demanding their schedules are/how hard touring must be. D&P also just aren't cut out for this kind of lifestyle at all, it couldn't be more different from their daily life at home.
I, too, am frustrated by the lack of content. I'm very sympathetic though...we know posting pics/tweets/whatever causes Dan some extent of stress. I, for one, will ignore social media altogether for days if i'm feeling overwhelmed by any aspect of my life, because for some reason social media exacerbates that feeling, makes me feel trapped/smothered/more overwhelmed.
maybe dan and phil just literally do not have the mental space or emotional energy to engage with their audience any more than they already have been at shows and m&gs. just figuring out how to manage a daily routine during such a disorienting experience might be taking it all out of them during their free time for the time being.
so i'm going to give them a little more time before assuming that this is what the next couple months will be like. hopefully, like phil said he tends to do, they'll adjust to the tour life and will start to share more bits and pieces with us. it seems to me like they're hanging onto their tweet-personas like lifelines--they know they have to engage with us, but they just don't have it in them to do it on any personal level. I can understand that.
Dan & Phil Part 8: Clickedy-dick
i think it was an assumption from our part for a long time, because there is having good and bad skin days and there is having completely flawless skin one day and having all your moles, freckles and discoloration of the skin the next day.pollypenguin wrote:I was wondering how you guys know of Dan wearing make up?

and then there's the sneaky bottle of that chalky Rimmel foundation in the audiobook promo video so there's that
Ohh this sounds like i'm reading dan for having bad skin but he doesn't really! he seems to have pretty good skin just needs to moisturize more (like Phil)

I was going to say the same thing. Dan looks OK/able to at least put on a stage face but Phil looks like he's about to plotz. And in the videos, my goodness, you can really see it...I sincerely hope they're OK/can get some rest at some point. I've been following the content drought/no content convo and, while I miss their regular less-scripted ls as much as anyone, this is exactly why I'm like, "yeah, I can go a few weeks without the regularly scheduled stuff." While it's very true that, as Youtubers, their whole gig is that personal contact/interaction with their fans, they've stepped outside of this not only by doing this tour but by doing it so extensively. Practically every night a barage of emotions from meeting fans who are all excited and energized to see you, then doing the show. Hang in there, and take care of yourselves as you need to. We want you to be healthy and strong and happy.Lurktacularr wrote:Oh god... Phil doesn't even look like himself! Dan looks a little tired but not too bad, seen him worse. You're right there's no light behind his eyes which is really unusual for him. EDIT: Actually no, it's not just that pic, they look exhausted in all of them.
While I'm here, favorite M&G moment so far: The "you can do it/hang in there" messages they wrote for that one girl Also, that girl that had the paper that was like "something that makes you happy" that's a fun way to make the most of your 15 seconds.

It's a shame tiredness has set in already, I can well imagine they won't want to do more than upload the videos they've already done. Most of the tour only has one day between venues at most so I don't know when they'll fit in a liveshow if the energy levels are strained already. The travelling is probably tiring in itself and they should have the time to get out wherever they are and actually see the country.
If anyone's really desperate, PJ uploaded 37 seconds of himself vacuuming. Yesterday fifteen minutes of playing Splatoon, no inbetweens with him sometimes.
There's always the hours of old liveshows to catch up on of course. I think the only way I'd get through all of those would be as background to the hours of drawing-with-a-tablet practise I'll need to do draw anything other than wobbly potatoes with the damn thing.

Oh wow, I can't unsee the exhaustion in Phil's eyes now. Poor little sweetie. He almost looks miserable. And the shitty cereal options at the hotel probably didn't help either. I'll be interested in reading if it's apparent in his onstage performance.

They haven't given hints that they're unhappy with their current flat, have they? They have plenty of space, bought extra shelves, and hung more things on the walls, which is not a sign that they're planning to pack up just yet. I'm not gonna set my hopes too high on that front, they can pleasantly surprise me if I'm wrong.

Yeah I actually hope people give some honest reviews. They are angel bean cinnamon roll tol squish beans too perfect for this world, sure. but like, how are they really. I wanna know about the off nights and the fuck ups because that's a better gauge of where their energy and investment levels are and how exhausting the travel actually is.manged wrote:Oh wow, I can't unsee the exhaustion in Phil's eyes now. in louise's vlog, the difference from 2:12 to 2:42 is something i feel like only makeup could do:
in any case, 4 for dan coco for wearing makeup. he does it right in my opinion and it does what it needs to, he looks great! (not that he needs it, but y'all know what i'm sayin'~)

In my mind, this is Dan and Phil and knowing how they usually under prepare for anything I just didn't expect much from them during the tour. I mean, tbf to them it's only been just over a week since they started but because it's quiet it seems much longer for us. they clearly had some videos prepared (the ending of the last gaming video had a coming next video) but who knows when they'll release them, maybe they only pre-filmed a couple.hunnyftw wrote:
Well, I think there's a huge difference between realising something might pose a problem and preparing for it beforehand and then going through it when it's actually happening, y'know. Preparation doesn't always mean success.
Also, have a great time in NYC!
I know they released some videos on the uk tour but they were literal #spon for the book. They don't have anything to promote currently so content isn't as important (does that sound harsh, it's not meant to if it does).
Just to agree with everyone, I was looking through the m&g photos from today, not sure if it's the lighting but I thought Phil in particular looked quite tired. They had a travel day/day off yesterday so I was surprised at how tired he looks. I'll report back on if they look tired tomorrow night.

Having looked at more of the M&G pics I actually think Phil looks like he's ill, not just tired. We've seen him tired many a time and I don't think I've ever seen him looking this ropey (in the nicest way possible - you're still gorgeous but you look like you should be in bed with some lemsip Philly)
Wouldn't be at all surprising given how many sweaty little hands he's had all over his face in the last week. And I doubt he'd tweet about it as to avoid putting a dampener on tonight's show. So yeah, I reckon he's fighting something not just tired.
Lets see what the reviews say. But stands to reason if he is ill, Dan won't be far behind, and I imagine that will be more obvious because, well... its Dan

And if you can hear sex noises you can probably hear a lot of other stuff too and from the amount of times I feel the need to lower the volume on my computer when watching videos featuring Dan videos I'm sure being his neighbour is a real treat. And as you say they do not have the same sleeping patterns as most people with regular day jobs.alittledizzy wrote:To be fair, though, their neighbors probably have the same complaint about them.pearshaped34 wrote:And their neighbours morning sex noises.uglyamerican wrote:Except for maybe the sirens in the b.g.apathy wrote:For moving apart: Phil has said he doesn't like to be alone for long periods of time, so I'm not sure that getting a separate place would be top priority even if they're Platonic™ and he has an almost-30 crisis.

I mean, didn't Dan mention in one of the episodes od Undertale, that their neighbours are probably concerned rn, to what Phil replied that they are probably like that all the time? Could be Phil just had one of his headaches or maybe travel sickness is taking a toll on him already. It would be super bad if he gets the flu or something and loses his voice. I truly hope is nothing bad. We'll have to look at tom photos

Anyway they already bought their family/retirement cottage at the IoM, it makes sense to buy a flat in London for their current needs and future London tripsPolarFox wrote:Regarding that, maybe they'll just buy their current flat and keep living there. sorry for nitpicking, it's all in good spirit, promise
They are being boring, and it's a shame because with the power of social media they don't have to be especially on a trip like this. I know sitting on a bus for hours on end isn't super exciting (but I'd love to know about what they do while driving when they're not asleep like which board games did they bring lol) and shows become routine after while, but they're touring the USA for the first time and visiting new places everyday, yet aside from the bed thing they don't tweet about it. So yeah, boring.
But as far as their actual content goes, I'm genuinely not very bothered by this drought. I expected it, I feel like we've had worse and I think that as of now it's not much different from their normal uploading habits. I'll get annoyed at their uploading schedule again when I feel like it's getting ridiculous. Later this week maybe if they haven't uploaded in the meantime lol. Let's hope they won't let it get that bad, because I am rooting for a new video soon. I kinda expected Agar.io this weekend if only because it's a bit strange to have the Sims video linking to a video that doesn't exist for so long, but apparently not.
Well, during the UK tour they did have a book to promote so they really had to upload the stuff they did. Plus they had to do Spooky Week because the phandom would've fed them to hungry lions if they didn't. They don't really have an obligation to upload more than the absolute minimum this time.majitzu wrote:During the uk tour the content drought was the month before the start of the tour, during the tour there was a lot of content, it was weird and great.
Speaking of hungry lions, Phil looks about ready to be their dinner. I genuinely got a bit scared scrolling through my Twitter feed. Is he okay? D: I hope he takes care of himself, but with his motion sickness it's probably hard to get good rest

How tired they look makes me feel bad for complaining about the lack of live shows, but as a couple of people have said tiny updates on something like snapchat would make all the difference imo. All we're getting are robot tweets and M&G stuff and it's pretty frustrating.. I just hope they're looking after themselves cause if they get really run down only a week in it's gonna be a really long 2 months!
Also PewPhan uploaded a clip of D&P in Daily Bump's vlog (no idea who this is tbh) if anyone wants 30 seconds of them at 2014 playlist with Louise and a baby

I wonder if they'll spend a day or two in NY before heading to Toronto or if they'll go to Toronto straight after the NY shows. The drive from NY to Toronto is about 8-10 hours.
Maybe we'll get some form of social media updates/a video/liveshow then since that will be the longest break they've had so far. Or maybe not lol.

Oh woops I missed the Boston date.
NY to Boston is only about 4 hours so maybe they'll be able to relax for a bit whether that's in NY or in Boston. We probably won't have any updates from them though.

I keep forgetting how crazy their schedule is, they only have 2 sets of 2 consecutive days off the whole way through, and are sometimes doing 5 nights of shows back to back!
The 2 day breaks are pretty long drive stretches too so not much time to relax at all.. i really hope they're flying ahead to get more rest on some of the legs!
