2013 was a shitty year for a queer person to be in any fandom
so it was probably more of a result of multiple things happening in a short span of time. for me it was kicked off by SPN in the first half of 2013, following by Moffat - getting on my nerves for a long time with the final nail in coffin of Capaldi announcement and dismissal of non-cis-male doctor, OUAT breaking up Mulan and Aurora (yesthankyousomuchforanothertragiclesbianstorylikeIneedthatshit) and the final nail was s3 of bbc Sherlock (and again more what Moffat said behind scenes) that made me decide to retire from any fandom world as such, (Finale of Faking it just justifying my decision, and some other shows as well), but damn world is a sad and blank place and without fandoms even more. (so with phandom it seems relaxing cause I don't have to worry about things that I would worry with TV like representation in characters and such and getting pissed off because as Dan said (I wasn't there for his 2012 thing, but yeah) 'on tumblr people accept, but real life is shit and has tons of judgment' (not exact words, but can't find the ls now) and then have a tv show where the runners treat me as a viewer as shit - well who needs that, not me 8-) )
I suspected SPN would be the answer, but yeah I forgot about a lot of the Moffatt stuff ugh. I've been watching The 100 and it was going pretty well and then of course they had to fall into the (yesthankyousomuchforanothertragiclesbianstorylikeIneedthatshit) trap and I'm close to rage-quitting based on some other dumb character choices. Decent queer-friendly fandoms are hard to come by in any year..

re: tatinof in not english speaking countries: i honestly think a south american tour of just the biggest cities (rio, sao paulo, buenos aires, and maybe santiago?) would work because there's so many people in those cities (+ those willing to travel) that they definitely can get 1 or 2 thousand people confident enough on their english to attend, idk if that would be profitable for them, but bands do it all the time, many south american tours only include those cities i mentioned

re: age of of not native english speaker phans: most of my friends watch them although none of them are as involved as i am and we're all in our early 20, idk anyone younger but when i got into them i was 15, my english has improved a lot in the last 5/6 years but i think that I would have understood the show back then anyway, they are very a-r-t-i-c-u-l-a-t-e which helps a lot

While if they are a couple I think there are a lot of valid reasons to keep it secret I don't think avoiding the messy awkward break-up should be one of them being at this point they have zero chance of escaping that (other then staying together forever).
Whether Dan and Phil are friends or a couple if they end whatever it is they have going on it is going to cause a sh*tstorm of epic proportions. Even those who believe it's just friendship will be speculating wildly about what went down between them if they were to suddenly move out and stop collaborating/hanging out with one another. Any major changes that put distance between them will be treat like a break-up even by those who believe it's a friendship falling out.
sailor-moon wrote: btw I wonder if our boys will find this new site as well :o hope they will
While we'd never really know for sure if they have or haven't discovered this place personally I'd love to think they never will. It would be amazing if there was somewhere on the internet to discuss Dan and Phil where the 4th wall was still a legitimate thing.

I think that them touring in the big cities of mainly non-English speaking people could work out, it's just comparing them to touring bands is a lot different. Usually bands just say the cities name to get the crowd going, and preform the show as usual, not really having to worry about the language barrier since it's music that most of the people probably are a fan of/don't really need to know the lyrics to enjoy. I can see people going there just because they enjoy Dan + Phil that don't speak English fluently enough, but still have a fun time.
It's all subjective to the people that are going, but I agree with the idea they tour in the largest/most well known cities.

In the sunday times article, the writer states that they plan to take tatinof to "Rio, Manila, Jakarta and America, where their biggest fanbase resides." I wonder if that's still the case. I'm ignorant to how large their fanbase is outside Europe and North America.

I'm surprised D+P told the sunday times where they're going next, knowing this interview would get released to the public and we would all see it. Since then, neither of them have brought up going to Rio, Manila or Jakarta to the phandom.

ive seen dan gifs on korean sites like pann nate before, but i have no idea if there's a large sub base there or if it was just a gif of him as a pretty boy. my korean isn't good enough to post and ask. surely there's a site where you can see full demographics of another channel?

[offtopic]Sorry for the messages I sent to a few users that are still on GG, this site glitched out for me for like 5 minutes and then worked again lol[/offtopic]

Also, aren't Dan's liveshows after 9? I remember getting home (I am in the EST standard time zone) and I still caught the end of one, at like 10:45 in his time zone...

Were they referring to Rio, Manila and Jakarta as to where the biggest fanbase resides, or did they only mean America? Bit of a strange way to write it I suppose, I thought they were saying Jakarta had the biggest *shudders* Phandom.

jaej, I couldn't find any YouTube demographics in my quick search but I did find his Twitter demographics:

It really surprised me about the age range, guess we aren't the only middle aged nose perverts.

This was pretty funny, too:

Hope that helped a bit, sorry it wasn't exactly what you were asking for.

I'm pretty sure they meant America is where their biggest fanbase resides. Regardless, they apparently said they're going to Rio, Manila and Jakarta. And they still plan to go to Europe! Holy crap...has any other youtuber gone to as many places as they are planning to???

Daylight Savings Time just happened for the UK, whereas US/CDA jumped forward a few weeks ago. So I think his last liveshow was an hour later because of that (for us, it was still 9pm for him), but it's all back to normal now
