hello! i've wanted to join for quite some time, and i'm already regretting this username choice i was scrambling to think of something + i was hungry, i don't know i'm hoping people don't take it as the other type of "creme pie" reference

i was a lurker on gg for a long time, but i never joined the site after reading about shady stuff going on with the creator/the new owner. plus some youtuber threads on that site just seemed like uncontrolled vitriol, and i didn't want to be associated with it. i have no such qualms with this site though ya'll seem great

i've been watching dan and phil since i was about 12, maybe younger. i basically grew up watching them...it's been a weird (but lovely) experience. i've changed so much over the years, i think it's a testament to them both as people that i've kept watching them for this long. i remember i used to watch their videos over and over again, spacing out the times before i would rewatch again so i wouldn't get sick of them. as cheesy as it is, i had a troublesome adolescence and watching both of their videos made me feel better.

as for me, i'm 18 years old, i'm very shy, i'm really into music (my favorite band is the mountain goats), vintage toys, cartoons/animation, books, cheesy tv shows, art, and fashion. i'm an artist working mainly in illustration. i was the very first snack baked under the Little Debbie™ brand name in 1960.

anyway, i'm really excited to join! i'm glad this site exists hope it continues to grow!

Didn't think of 'creme pie' in the other way until you said this.

:welcome: It's all the same people but this site feels so different from the other place. Hope you'll join in the discussions.

:welcome: I think the choice of username is good (at least better than mine that doesn't mean anything at all) and your avatar makes me hungry.

:welcome: Add me to the "that was perfectly innocent til you mentioned it" list though. Brought it on yourself, soz.

I think the subforum over on t'other place was the desert island in the sea of bile. And now we have our own peaceful pleasant little world over here. Muuuuuuch better! ;) OK. Done torturing similes/metaphors now. See ya 'round! :)

Until this point in time I was blissfully unaware of the alternative definition of ''cream pie,'' when I regretfully decided to google it. Time to delete the browsing history.

:welcome: to the board, though. I agree, everyone here is mostly nice and respectful. I do miss the occasional troll on GG that would drop in just to write an essay-length hate post about Deppy and then leave again, but I can imagine not everyone could see the funny side. This place is way better. :)

But hello, have a nice stay :platonic:

But who the fuck am I kidding? I'm mostly just the rotting banana peel at the bottom of the phan trash can who genuinely gets excited over the thought of them snuggling in bed. Idgaf let a bitch live

i'm sorry you had to learn this way :platonic: or maybe i'm not, there's worse ways to learn these things on the internet :D

thank you! and thanks to everyone else who welcomed me as well!
yeah, in general i'm a pretty curious person so i always like to see why people have strong feelings on somebody, even if i don't agree. especially if it's funny for whatever reason.

i think it's just the rejection of any sort of neutrality or positivity in some threads is what bugged me. there were threads on there that seemed like genuine criticism with some jokes thrown in (and i do think it's important to have a place to criticize content openly without fear of censorship), but some were just name calling witch hunts. for a criticism to have any value to me you also have to be able to be criticized yourself
