Anyway, I used to have a theory that gleam management used laura as a codename to stalk Gigi. A person named Laura was once from SJ thread. But the laura name keep popping up in different username with different variations so I become suspicious but never look into it for some reason lol. i think I'm talking bull here just throw me out [/offtopic]

My ban is now by IP not just username lol. I didn't even sign up again and it's only happened in the last 3 hours or so, during which I did post at YouTalkTrash so haha. Staff at GG are clearly very busy frequenting other sites and updating their existing bans. It all just seems so redundant. I really hope the Gabby and D&P threads just rot over there and cease to exist. End this insanity!

What the actual fuck I guess spamming means that people were submitting links to another forum and they couldn't delete them the minute they were posted so people actually had a chance to see them? Jfc that place is a mess. Damage control 101.

they already deleted my post on the main thread but i'm not banned, i'm gonna say that proves my theory that they won't ban people for posting/pming the link, just gonna make it difficult because they have a lot of free time on their hands

They also deleted felucca's 'lol bye gg' post, which is a mixture of hilarious and ridiculous

Talking as a person who used to be a lurker (we need a shark emoticon), I come to gg basically just because I love all of you discussing things esp right after a video is uploaded. I don't come there because I have something to say but merely because I want to know what other people might think.

Gigi failed to understand this thing. Banning us (you guys, I mean, I wasn't ban, I don't think I am entitled enough to say us. Lol) will only drove the phandom away. I have lit-rally no idea what they are thinking.

Not sure why they've locked the threads, maybe to stop people from trying to save their posts, who knows. I'm sure as hell they are lurking on here though [hi]. By locking the threads they're just making it worse for themselves ultimately but it doesn't affect me either way, I wasn't planning on going back there after all that's gone on.

The threads have all been locked due to excessive spamming. PM a mod for clarification; be advised that the lock down is temporary and not due to anything people who WERE NOT BANNED did. Once things are back to what can be described as normal, around here, the threads will be unlocked.

What do you mean "back to what can be described as normal"? Are they waiting for idb to somehow fail before they unlock their own deppy thread? If they mean activity on their own site, how can that return to normal if they're not allowing people to post?

Anyone up for pming a mod to see what they say?

I didn't think this was possible, but the whole thing just got even more ridiculous. "excessive spamming" as if. i've been checking the thread a few times and if there was excessive spamming, then they were fast with deleting it. just a few posts.

My guess is they know that anyone who is still posting there will be contacted by one of us and informed of this place, since posting the link has been ...difficult

Posting the link to this forum is not against the rules, they have no right to delete it. And if they were to stop deleting it there wouldn't be people posting it again and again. Problem solved

The mods collectively decided to lock the threads as an alternative to having to ban several accounts who were spamming and flaming in the thread. They want to wait until things ~cool~ down before unlocking. If they unlock and people continue posting links to this site, then they might return to the banning spree.

I don't think locking the threads would affect it, since they're still there and saving them just requires one to be able to read them. People usually use third party softwares that just saves them as .htlm files, I think? It would make more sense for them to put the whole section behind a password if they wanted to prevent that.

The uproar has arisen from the bannings though, which so far with the possible exception of Jhambs lol, haven't been explained or have defied reason. If we're being led to believe this all happened because of the initial drama with people disagreeing with GIS' opinions then I can't see how. Nobody reported those posts from what I could see, nobody owned upto it anyway but maybe they wouldn't anyway once they saw the resulting mess to be fair.

Once users began to realise people had been banned, literally nobody was pleased and everybody was confused and irritated. There was NO drama until then. It's all just stewed from a couple of cranky decisions which didn't follow protocol, rules were broken to get rid of people impulsively and now it's all damage control to recover from so many hasty, bad decisions.

It's a real shame because once a forum loses it's integrity, the trust evaporates and even though GG was fun for a lot of people it still handles a great deal of personal information about users and it''s still vital staff stay mature, professional and responsible. I can't see them regaining integrity without some hefty staff changes, personally. Reading and editing PM's is NOT ok. I've moderated teen and young adult trading boards before and if I had ever done that, either been caught doing it by fellow staff or simply just had it on my conscience and had to confess to someone that I'd done it, then I would have been in some serious trouble. Just because the site is supposedly trashy it doesn't mean all sense of responsibility gets trashed also.

edit: i'm not a fan of velvetgh0st, i get why most people don't like her, but i've seen some very very disgusting things in that thread and the contrast just stood out a bit
