I may go tell my full "How I Got Here" story on the thread for it but the basics: I'm pretty new to the phandom (a little over a month at the time of posting) and am a proud older-than-PHIL member of the middle aged nose perverts
What can I say? Those two British nerdballs captured the s**t (are we allowed to swear on here?) out of my inner twelve year old heart. So much of the stuff they talk about/play/do is what we did in my generation as kids: FF7, Mario Kart, all the older console games they play, virtual pets, chatting and messaging (a/s/l), making random clubs, etc. And I have my own experience with Japan so I was right there with them on their big trip. Their chemistry rivals that of some of the greatest comic duos of the last century. And they're...well, you've seen them. I'm partial to Phil: his creative mind is to me what rippling biceps and six pack abs are to other ladies. And he seems like a decent guy on top of that. I know the whole innocent thing is more AP than public personality Phil but I appreciate someone who is insanely talented and who can go in their own direction without being snobby or defensive.
All this being said, I've appreciated the critiques that I've seen from the group on GG and here thus far: honest, respectful, balanced (it's just as OK to appreciate as it is to write three paragraphs analysing YouTube marketing techniques). Tumblr's cool for reacting in the moment but the deeper bants are the stuff that keeps phandom life truly interesting.
So, down with unjust excommunication! No purple banners without representation! Throw some emoticons into a harbor! Viva la revolution!
