one thing that we have to keep in mind I think is that we are doing that for our own enjoyment writing/making it and reading it and sharing it with the rest of the Phandom. If Dan and Phil see it, that would be absolutely lovely but I don't think it should be the end goal so my take is we shouldn't censure ourselves/our bants/our ideas because they might see it. And by that I mean we still have to be sensible and respectful because DUH but let's not go overboard and censure ourselves.

I don't think we need to do 2 versions of busgate. That we looked for the buses layout online is probably not news to them and then yeah I guess it is a bit stalker but it's really not crazy stalker as all infos were online and we just speculated. Dan and Phil are gonna be indulgent with us. They KNOW we are nose pervert obsessed with sleeping arrangements.
well...we are THEIR lab rats so I think they are to blame here tbh (jk). Anyway then it's all good and that makes my job easier.
I also think you're right about censuring our bants, guess I thought too much about it.

A little off-topic but I'm really interested for the font you used for the 'Updates from the Tour' page and the size of it.
Thank you! :^)

I've already deleted the psd (I know, I know), but I'm fairly certain that the fonts were just Myriad Pro Regular at 32, 24, and 12 pt.

hey guys, because I well TOO invested in this project, I did a kind of Dan and Phil culture page/recommendations. Let me know what you think http://docdro.id/xL4HgeX

Poe and daphnexa, awesome job!!! (aside from a few typos)

regarding #busgate i feel like not everything that was talked about is in there (like how they weirdly tried to re-confirm that phil got the bedroom in the joint LS) but i know it's hard to include everything. i still feel like it needs to be rounded off a bit more and then finished off with a cliffhanger of some sorts. something along the lines of how we like online investigation so we don't wanna go too close to invade their actual physical privacy. dan and phil always seem to manage to throw us off and the mystery of #busgate continues until further evidence surfaces.
ugh.

I actually did think about this and decided to do a 3rd (hopefully not a 4th) page to include more details such as the general confusion of the bus colors, the ls, the arrangements we know about until now, whos bus is who's, the screenshot of the response to that email, etc.

Thank you for the ending idea. I honestly didn't know what to write as a good enough ending :(

Jeweul, I love it and I hate to be a bother, but isn't Phil's fringe supposed to go the opposite way to Dan's? if this was intentional, then feel free to ignore me :thumb:

Hey there! I loved the pages! it made me laugh and put into perspective what I missed by arriving late to the whole busgate thing. I just have one suggestion: so we don't look creepy, we already talked about the bedroom thing but if they stumble up on this magazine would be nice to have the conclusion directed that we did the whole thing out of curiosity about what buses they had/ what's the whole crew divisions for the buses (less than sleeping arrangements)/ their colors/ how they were and how many there are (it's still a mystery).
That's what this whole #busgate thing is for me anyway, much less than it is about if they sleep in the same room or not. What do you think? It's a ~just in case~ precaution.

edit: just to be clear, I don't mean that we censure ourselves :gg: but I would be relived if the conclusion bit that wraps the thing together makes it clear that's more about the buses curiosity than the sleeping arrangements

Same. I actually found IDB when I was stalking searching for the bus because I was curious about it. What did it look like/ what luxury were they living in these 3 months/ how much did they need to pay for renting the bus. And I really want to make it accessible for D&P too if they will stumble across it. We are really not THAT big stalkers..just little trash cans

Been wondering the same, lol.
I even stopped writing my thing bc everyone went quiet
I think this is the better thread to talk about it so we don't spam the main thread (again).

I was wondering too what was going on...everyone just went silent all of a sudden. I have my last page of the #busgate article done even tho I could add a little more such as the terrifying photo that Phil tweeted a few days ago..

If we're still doing this we should really get a move on if we want to finish it until VidCon as it is just a few weeks away. We can always change the deadline to SITC but with the Australia tour I don't know if they will be there.

And we need to know who is still in for doing it.

I'm still up for it if you guys are, but I'm not about to continue writing if we aren't anymore
I'll only make one page tho, that's all I have time for, we need to know if we have enough ppl and content to make a whole magazine.

I mean, who's surprised that this fizzled out? Sometimes the planning and brainstorming stage is more exciting than creating the finished product. Not gonna lie though, it didn't seem like any particular person was taking charge of the operation or offering concrete direction.

I mean, I like this project, but the lack of a proper leader made me wonder how far we would get. I'll still post the "editing tips? editing tips" piece I drafted, because daphenaxa sent me a question for it, and I had a lot of fun writing the segment. :platonic:

I kind of liked that there were no "leader(s)" per se in this project. Everyone did their bits, I think. Someone with a good understanding could open a google folder or dropbox to put all the written pieces in there to be edited (I had volunteered to do editing and proofreading). The photoshop/indesign savvy people can work/divide the tasks/pages to put together the pages in a presentable magazine shape (this bit is the difficult part that requires you lovely graphic designers to join forces and do some magic). Would be my suggestion to move forward in this. It would really be a shame if this fizzled out and never made it into daylight because I think it's an awesome idea and we've already done so much good work on it! :platonic:
I'm copying the task division bit down here again to get this going. I'm bolding the parts I think people already finished writing. please add or bold more if i've missed any of your awesome works. i know some people are still working on their pieces.

From the perspective of someone who was willing to contribute illustrations, I would've appreciated a firm set of orders and guidelines, so that I could've been paired with a writer and gotten to work asap. Because there were no "leaders", no one had the confidence or felt the responsibility to enforce a specific plan for illustrators/graphic designers . I agree that dividing into teams might increase productivity, because dumping everything into one thread made things hard to follow.

But at the moment, I don't care how things carry on because I've already lost interest in contributing.

I agree completely with this. I think for secondary creators (people who are working based off other's work), leaders/organizers would be very helpful.

I'm a bit busy now to do any good illustrations, but I may look into Google Doc-ing this and putting out requests for claims on articles wth no designs if no one else is interested or has started doing that already. It was a cute project, I'd love to see it put together.

So, if people are continuing, I counted up the pages we have already, and a rough estimate is 24 pages, which is pretty impressive. A few still needs graphics added, so it's not fully accurate, but honestly, it's got a good number of pages to it, even if we just want to print it out and hand a copy to D&P or paste it together as a PDF and put it on tumblr or something.

Here's what I counted. Editing needed are pages with designs but could probably use a second set of eyes, design needed are pages that were submitted as just block text, so need to look pretty. Idk how dividing the work would be.

Needs Editing

Bad Advice Plants- 1 page

Musical Songs and Notes- 3 page
Poe
Busgate 2 pages
Jewel and Oqua
Pasta sauce cover and fic ~6 pages
