Personally, I think it's unlikely that he or Phil will actually put a label on their sexualities any time soon. They may do it if they eventually announce a relationship, if they feel it's necessary to clarify "I'm bi not gay", but for now I think they'd prefer not to label.

If Dan was to say casually in a liveshow or a tweet "I'm bi" (or any other label) it would be an event for in the youtube community. The liveshow clip or the tweet screencap would be circulated more widely than the phandom. There would be a TenEighty article, at the very least. If We Are Unicorns covered the bottom tweet incident, do you think they'd ignore an explicit coming out? I don't think Dan wants that kind of attention*. I don't think he wants to be an LGBT+ youtuber. I think he wants to not be in the closet. I think his goal is to hint about is sexuality until everyone who cares to notice knows he's not straight, but nobody can point to any specific piece of "evidence" and claim to know his sexuality.
And when you're not scared any more, hinting can be pretty fun

He's not hinting about male attraction to 3.1M twitter followers, he's hinting to whatever fraction of those bother to do another few clicks to read his replies. Apart from CrunchyRoll spon, which some have managed to dismiss as phanservice, he confines his hinting to only the most invested members of his audience, those who watch his liveshows and read his twitter replies. It's selective honesty, focusing on the fraction of his audience who care most.

Of course if the give us a more than one thing at once it could be better. As everyone has said they are desperately behind on gaming (also probably my favorite of theirs) and liveshows.

Depends how long they stay in the US I guess.

One would hope they'd learn for Australia. But It is shorter though, so maybe it won't seem like as much of a torturous wasteland.

I mean, in that respect, Dan and Phil have carved out a pretty nice space for themselves and their fans. That self-sustaining quality is mostly nice, though it can get a bit scary sometimes. But I'd hate for them to really be relying on it, I mean, it's just not enough. Just waffle for half an hour on younow, we'd have a thread filled and thirst quenched. This is very true, the phandom is truly amazing and I applaud them from being able to create it. But I do hope that they get off their lazy asses and continue to work on it so that someday they will become even bigger and richer than they are.
I must say that I haven't seen that many people complaining about the drought, sure, people here on idb and people from here on twitter but people from another corners of the phandom don't strike me as desperate as we are (honestly, I haven't seen anything on tumblr but I just lurk in the tags so )

I don't mind a bit of content drought every now and then, because the content is pretty much just the fuel for the more exciting part of this fandom. A little of it goes a long way because we may be trash but we're resourceful trash. But at this point the lack of content is staring to affect the discussion, considering the current discussion has been largely the lack of content for the last 3 threads. That and the little content we do get is pancakes.

Late on the tattoo train, but holy shit I love them. Brilliant, brilliant idea cora and wombat, and an ingenious way to celebrate and hide the fandom all at once.

Since there is not much else to discuss.....

You all seem pretty confident that the liveshows will continue once they are back in the "land of tea of crumpets". What if they didn't renew their contracts with Younow? Do we know when they signed them? Phil is way over the 30 day limit and he was cutting them back to 40 minutes. Maybe that was a way to titrate them down to nothing at all. The forum has discussed before about how disinterested he had seemed in them for awhile.

What would you guys do if they stopped liveshows? Would you stop watching them completely?
