He was tired (so glad he's been resting) but I appreciate that he came on anyway. For me, it wasn't the greatest but given the circumstances, not bad, not bad at all.

Bingo results (ok, I got a bit carried away/had too much fun coming up with squares and did 25, only got 16 of those...sorry they're a bit tiny):

Happy to hear his thoughts on tour/that the documentary will be at least somewhat reflective (maybe more than their usual for a change), Black Lives Matter, watching Fruits Basket ("old" haha, that's some of us s out here's generation), "appreciate a plant", even his little Mario Kart waffle.

On his hesitancy to give opinions, I saw it as partially him saying that so many issues are not cut and dry that a sound-byte-y statement rarely does them justice and partially him saying that he doesn't value the concept of "opinions" as much as in depth conversation about a topic. He realizes that there are limits to what he can say and do through the media he works with (YouTube, YouNow, Twitter, etc.)...or, at least he hasn't figured out how just yet. I actually found it refreshing that he stepped back a bit to get folks thinking about why it's important that they hear his opinions.

Couldn't watch the liveshow since I was out (for once) and now everyone on Twitter is freaking out because Dan was asked his opinion on dick in the liveshow and he said "nice"? Did this actually happen??

these youtuber book deals seem to contain 2 books so the tour book assumption seems very plausible.

Imagine if Phil read out that question, that would make my whole year. I really liked the liveshow, I was frustrated at the beginning with him basically repeating Phil's whole "it's too much to talk about so let's talk about boring things instead" opener, and idgaf about Game of Thrones so them loving it so much is kind of annoying to get through. But overall I loved it and kind of wanted to cry at the end, I appreciated the assurance that even though tatinof won't ever fucking end, it won't ever again be a months-long blackout on interaction like the US was, and we can get through it.

So his next video will be another anime recommendation? I couldn't tell when he mentioned doing a Part 2 of that if he meant that's what he'll be doing this week, or just at some point in the future and he has other plans for this week's filming..

Also I thought it was funny that in Phil's version of the airport story, Dan asked him if he was missing something alerting him to his missing backpack. But in Dan's, Phil told him he lost it. What is the truth.

I'm surprised yet happy they watched Fruits Basket! What a damn throwback lol. Although it has Ouran-y vibes so I can see why they'd watch it/like it. I wonder how they pick what to watch and how they even decided to watch FB.

and I'm not mad about another book (if it's what it is) just sad that I won't probably be able to get it too.

Nice liveshow. Dan never fails to make me smile on a tuesday

No more hard feelings about last week, imo the fact that he broadcasted while he has a cold, does show that he's 'into us'. Even if he's not particularly good at maintaining that relationship at times due to their epic organization skills and their incredibly thirst to be constantly sociable

- He basically took the same stance on phil about just having a 'chill stream' and not tell much about the tour. I think i feel a video coming about the tour? Idk, i don't think they're so quiet *just* because they are releasing a behind the scenes special..
- YAS. finally, with a lot of trepidation, he shared at least some opinions about ya know, actual stuff. I love opinios Dan. Even dead wrong smug opinion Dan. I don't know why he holds himself to the unrealistic standard that every opinion he's got about a complex social issue should reflect perfect knowledge about the matter. pro tip: nobody has all the facts. In the final analysis, what constitutes a fact cannot be fully divorced from subjectivity. We can at best attain inter-subjectivity, and discriminate between opinions on the basis of how informed they are and the quality of the information they convey.

I saw peeps on Twitter losing their shit and was confused because I immediately read it as an incredulous "nice" . He even follows it with "you can tell it's 10pm". I mean that's probably his opinion on actual dicks also but. >_>

I don't think he assumed it was regarding the Dan & Nick ship, though.

On the tour book topic:

All of you guys with your opinions about the liveshow, both positive and negative, helped me realise that there were actually some parts of it that I did enjoy. Especially the thing that majitzu mentioned about Dan not wanting to express any opinions and then not being able to resist the temptation and promptly giving some opinion or an opinion about not giving opinions. He just can't help himself and it's always hilarious to watch

Not to mention the fact that his opinions are sometimes really on point, eg the blacklivesmatter topic today.

alright talk me out of this, but at 28:25ish into the second stream (first one crashed) when talking about the piñata he was holding in vegas, does dan say "left it in the bed" and then promptly stumble on his words as he realizes it?? i noticed that the first time around but at rewatching its still a little

I think he meant the way fancybum explained it, but I also think he fully knew that 'nice' could be applicable as a response as well, because he's a brat like that who won't say anything explicitly enough that it can't be taken five different ways depending on someone's bias when listening.

I am not a big fan of Dan's ls because I hate his over the top reactions. But I realised I like that more than sick!Dan. He's just too tired. His antisocial self is showing. Kudos for his patience despite the annoying messages. I hope they didn't record DAPG while he was sick. I like loud Dan for DAPG.
- I liked that he acknowledged that his opinions are sometimes not well thought of. Also, what's with younow not the best place to share his opinion? Where else will he share it? And what will we over analyse if he won't share it in younow? Hahaha

the fact that the 'nice' comment was followed by 'you can tell it's 10pm' says (to me anyway) that he actually thought dick not dan+nick
but the tone he said it in wasn't like he was answering the question seriously but rather making fun of the question..but still he chose to answer it

I absolutely loved that liveshow. yeah Dan was a bit more quiet and probably tired but he was really genuine and natural and sincere. It really felt like having a conversation with him instead of being his audience and watching a "show".
I loved that he talked about so many subjects and gave so many opinions and thoughts on stuff, even when it was not fully perfectly thought through. That's when I love him the most and find him the most endearing.
I liked Phil's liveshow on sunday because he was in a great mood and very engaging but i didn't feel he talked about as many interesting stuff, or as many stuff in general even.

I was mad at 1st with the "let's just talk about normal things and not the tour" so we can buy their fucking tour video, but he still talked a bit about some places and some anecdotes so it was nice.

Also Dan answered "opinions about dick" with "nice, I can see it is 10pm" saying it was about the time all the shit questions begun to flow. Obviously he didn't think that through

If you're trying to point out hypocrisy, I disagree.

What he said about BlackLivesMatter vs AllLivesMatter was that some people in the AllLivesMatter side are only on that side because they are miss-understanding what BlackLivesMatter means. That could be considered an opinion, but I don't think it is directly comparable to Brexit, which is a complex political situation.

What he said about heterosexual pride day was not an opinion, it was a piece of information. He said that the movement was started by trolls.

He was asked whether he supported gay rights and he sighed. I think in frustration, because that should be pretty obvious by now, and apparently to some people it isn't. that right there was an opinion of mine
