Everyone's already brought up most of the great parts of the baking video, but I just want to pop in and note my absolute favorite minute that I've not seen mentioned (forgive me if it has been). At 3:02... when Dan looks up and says "Mmm.. microblade." That's some classic PINOF microwave referencing right there. hell yes✔ thats ✔✔ some good shit right✔there ✔✔

Loved the LS, especially Dan's intense love of that Boston pizza. Brought a bit of warmth to my cold, New England heart. Also... the whole thing just reminded me how witty he is. Like, IDK, perhaps my inner Dan trash is just out in full force tonight, but I love when he answers questions quick-fire and always has the perfect reference, be it recent or old school internet. ...just, damn. I noted this in my TATINOF review (~*no spoilers*~), but I'm just consistently impressed with his quick-witted, on-the-spot responses to things, be it a serious question or a stupid joke.

I still haven't caught up yet but I felt like leaving a post now. I will be leaving a long post on a subject that has been brought up multiple times so feel free to ignore it. I feel like I should be able to state my opinion since I didn't have the chance to do so before. I just want to give Felucca a shout out for archiving the videos for the drug DD (thank you to everyone who contributed. It is glorious). The password was quite easy since I have been lurking for so long. I also want to thank Oqua for writing out all of Dan's customer service blog responses as well as the pervy pictures in GG.

Watched the Nerdy Nummies video with a friend who asked if they could watch with me when they saw me click on it. Everyone is reacting like it was so cringey but it wasn't bad to watch with someone who doesn't know anything about Deppy or Youtube. It was a fun video and my friend laughed at some parts.

Rosanna was not as bad as expected from some of the criticism of her persona but her voice was a little more annoying during the second viewing.

So as expected, tumblr is talking about how Dan said he'd maybe paint his nails. I agree with SquishPhan that he probably won't casually wear it based on the way he said he's forgetful and then added "let's be real guys". However, if he ever were to do it, I'm predicting it would specifically be for a potential pastel edits video.

I really don't want to add to the nail polish discussion, mostly because I am so confused by it, so that is the reason I am bringing it up, not interested in the times Dan has talked about wearing nail polish, but my question is far more general: is there some underlying covert message being relayed through the fandom that I am too dense to realize? or what's the deal with him wearing it, or not wearing it? does him saying yes to potentially wearing nail polish mean he is (insert label here)?

Did deppy talk about doing a collab with (insert baking ladys' name here) on their own channels?

Some people would think it's breaking gender boundaries and expectations. Don't think anyone would think it's proof of any label or anything more than that.

It would be cute but personally I think Dan should reject or not reject gender norms for himself like with the jogging leggings. Some of the main phandom is too interested in nail polish being a specific thing and don't notice when Dan bends gender expectations in his way like buying a Gatorland hat made for girls.

No and from their last week's live shows it sounds like they went to the airport right after they filmed Nerdy Nummies. There will probably not be collabs on their own channels.

Thanks spider. I thought there was a deeper meaning behind the nail polish issue, because honestly, Dan could have said he's wearing two tone socks and I'd have had the same reaction as him saying he'd wear nail polish.

I made the mistake of reading idb reviews of the baking lady vid and now I'm trying to force myself to watch it, but I fear the second-hand cringe, so I keep putting it off. Which is sort of a head-fcuk since I usually use deppy vids to avoid real life.

No one mentioned the synchronized, "Ooooh!" at 3:35 of the baking video either. In-Sync deppy are among my favorite deppiez. (And I really hope danisnotonfirevyou1 starts making videos again so we can get a part 2).

I liked the Nerdy Nummies vid quite a lot. Rosanna was in completely parallel reality to Deppy, so we got to enjoy their bants and she was just there cheering and lauging at everything they say. Yes, they went for a few trademark dinof/AP things like clumsiness and whisks, but imo were less persona-heavy and more adult-like than in their own videos, be it due to apparent tiredness or because they were in an unfamiliar surroundings/aware of crew behind the camera. I loved their irony and attempts to break the structure of the baking video, and of course all the moments. I hope phandom bullies her into releasing bloopers (like it did with TomSka) though I’m not sure if there’s a chance for that.

Dan’s ls was a blast.

I remember in a liveshow Dan saying that even though there are opportunities to try many different things like music, he doesn't necessarily need to use them. I doubt they'd do music unironically/not for some project, though I love their singing.

Maybe he thought it was inappropriate/offensive to Dan and Phil? Idk lol. And whoever suggested Hazel tweeted that nonsense a while back just to prove a point about Deppy's fame, I think that's very likely

Phan can be a touchy subject for other YouTubers to bring up - just look at the Fine Bros being retweeted/not retweeted thing, maybe he just didn't want to risk upsetting ?

Skipped through the liveshow a bit + read updatedphan's recap.

Not surprised know each others passcodes, we know they use each others phones and computers sometimes. But the level of trust is still cute

Nail polish.

Every single time Dan acknowledges the phandom's obsession with nail polish,I get a bit uncomfortable. It seems obvious to me that he doesn't want to do it, but won't just say it because he doesn't want to offend people who will see him not wanting to wear nail polish as supporting harmful gender roles or something. Just leave him alone already.

Kimye vs. Taylor. *yawn* All about publicity. The Kardashian clan love themselves some controversy, so does Kanye considering he married Kim and pulls weird shit all the time, while Taylor isn't releasing new music right now and her tour is over as well so she just needs some gossip to stay on the radar and stuff. Maybe she's dropping something new soon idk.

Dan's doctor story If he still did radio he could've just said 'I'm a radio DJ' and then plugged his legit BBC Radio 1 show.

And oh dear. They have matching jackets. Why not get some shirts that say something lame like 'He's Mine -->' and '<-- I'm His' next hm?

Dan's curlyish hair pushed back looks cute (though for him I still prefer the fringe), but his face looks so tired, ill and sweaty. Poor boy. Hope he gets better soon, I'm currently struggling as well because my sensitivity towards warm weather always makes me sick.

Undertale soon. I better watch the previous one because I've completely forgotten everything that happened...

I'm not even really that interested anymore.

this so much. i always really enjoy his live shows because his answers are so intelligent, whilst being funny and thought-provoking.

i thought his story about the doctors was really interesting, since he was basically admitting he feels embarrassed/uncomfortable describing his career path to people with intimidating jobs like doctors.
i understand this though, as at work yesterday somebody asked me what i like to watch and i said 'youtube' and she got really judgy (until i reassured her i don't watch the zalfie money grabber side, more gamers and interesting creators). if people don't watch/understand youtube it can be embarrassing to explain how it works and that you enjoy watching it, so i can't imagine how it must be trying to describe how it's your career to people in the 'real world'.

also i am forever dan trash but he looked beautiful at the end of the ls.

i am now permanently convinced that he and phil both wear their hair pushed back in normal life, in order to distance themselves from dinof and ap and look more mature. and i am LIVING for it

I was thinking that it might have helpful to let the doc know that he's been straining his lungs / larynx over the past few months, but I can also understand his reluctance to describe exactly what he does for a living. I work in the industry, but I avoid saying exactly what I do because it invariably leads to more probing questions - innocently asked, but maybe sometimes inappropriate?

Nail polish: I wish this whole topic would die off. Clearly Dan does not want to paint his nails - other than part of a character. Nagging is not going work - he's not Lush, or Troye, or Connor.

"Leggings" (actually running pants/tights): Dan's creating a character, nothing more behind it.

LS: - Dan looked pretty good for someone with pneumonia, although not 100%. The boy should rest up - he'll still have the cough for another week or two, even if he feels better. Anyway, he was engaged with the audience, although I fell asleep watching (it was late, don't judge me!)

Sweaty Dan: If they stay in their flat, maybe they should ask the landlord to install A/C in the bedrooms? I'm not sure how effective the portable unit of Phil's actually is (it wouldn't work in the humid sub-tropical climate we have around here...)

Honestly, over the last week we've gotten 2 liveshows, a React video, and a baking collab video, and the posts on IDB have been minimal at best. I'm thinking that besides the slowing down of chatter being due in part to our Skype chats, I really do think this is proof of the damage done by their radio silence over the last couple of months. I feel like as a whole we all seem to just generally care a lot less than we all used to. Even the biggest of trashcans seems to be a lot less enthusiastic.

I definitely think he mentioned it to convince the doctor to give him some medicine, as it was in response to the doctor suggesting he should wait 3 weeks before being worried about his illness. I know when I was ill they told me the same thing (wait 3 weeks) but I didn't push it and just accepted it so they sent me home to die to get better on my own without medicine/antibiotics. I think Dan mentioned public speaking as a way to convince the doctor, and that normally he would just say he was a video editor to anyone who asked, not necessarily just to people with 'intimidating' jobs like doctors.
