Aw it just occurred to me that they probably wanted to do a liveshow after the announcement to avoid what happened last time-- not look like they're going into hiding while everybody has a fucking meltdown. They probably don't even care it was already leaked (maybe they wanted it to be ) so people got used to the idea before confirming it. (Not that a surprise second book would have elicited the same kind of negative reaction as the first one lol), but yeah they're staying more available this time around. Good idea

Just came out from dormant and say even tho the cover is ugly and i'm hella disappointed at them, i'm still gonna buy it.

Also i want to start a hashtag #fixDeppyGOcover to mock/cyber bully them for the ugliness of the cover.

No surprise at all with the second book announcement. We already knew and had some time to get used to the idea and we guessed right that it was about the tour. Everything was fine until now.

But what is that cover??? That shit is so ugly I'm crying tears of blood right now.

...Which doesn't mean I'm not buying it. I have no shame and probably will buy and cherish it for 10 minutes/life.

Hi everyone, I remembered my log and I have wanted to come back for so long but I would barely catch up and you were already on somthing else. So I decided to not read what anyone else's reactions were to the photo book and I will just write my thoughts.

What I have learned from Dan and Phil is that I will never judge them again without out seeing the end result. I always feel bad about my inital reaction to the first book even though like the next day I was like you know what that's a good idea make your money bla bla bla. I would support them even if it was going to be crap. But when all was said and done I really loved tabinof I think it was unique and filled with things that makes this phandom special.

Then we had the audio book and I loved being able to listen to Dan and Phil tell the stories and I felt like they enjoyed the process as well. I sometimes listen to it when I clean the house.

Then there was the tour and I was fortunate enough to see it and I was so happy it was everything I wanted and more, and yes I was proud of them. I already wrote a review so I won't go into detail.

When I heard about a new book I know people were like oh great another book but all I can be is excited because they have never let me down. So I have pre ordered it and I am sure this will be another thing that Dan and Phil have created that I will be happy to have in my life.
The cover is crazy but that's what this whole thing is Isn't it. I actually love it. I am not ashamed to have either of these books in my house people can judge me all they want but it's what makes me happy. Being in this phandom, a part of this community and being Phan AF makes me happy so. I am actually really looking forward to seeing this photo album.

I'm sorry if none of that made sense I have been gone so long I forget how to post in here. But I do miss it so hopefully I will write more.

Don't you guys ever tire of underestimating Dan? He doesn't "fall to pieces" whenever Phil isn't around, he's a 25 years old man ffs. It'd be interesting to see people not trying to present them as being in such an unhealthy relationship, be it friendship or whatever, like stop romanticizing codependency, please. He wasn't whining on Skype (if it was Skype at all) about how much he misses Phil, his "why aren't you here with me" comment was to give context to his ig story and it's clear from Phil's answer, why is Dan doing the ditl alone? Because Phil is away visiting his family. Simple as that. Dan's ig story was, mostly, an act. He totally broke the glass on purpose for his "wow I'm so clumsy/ not having a good day" narrative, and someone earlier mentioned the angle of his "goodnight" pic was not his usual selfie one because Phil's who actually took that one? Nah, Dan took that one, with his eyes closed, bet it took him a few tries too until he got it right.
Also it just feels weird how yall are always trying to deduce their every move based on vague tweets, wouldn't surprise me if the boys tweet things out of time or make things up to throw ppl away from their actual travel schedules, that is annoying af.

Oh Ffs! It was a joke. Didn't you read the disclaimer in my signature? I know Dan doesn't actually fall apart without Phil. I'm not trying to 'deduce their every move' I'm speculating. FOR FUN. That's what this forum is for.

Being that I'm total trash, I'm excited for this book and will certainly buy it. I will happily stare at pics of them for a while. Also hoping that we will learn some new things.

Also yes the cover is kind of cringe, but I also strangely like it.

But yeah this does make me a bit worried about the EU tour.

I won't buy that book but I am looking forward to hopefully seeing it in PDF so I can see all the pictures they didn't post while touring bc they were too busy.

danisnotonphil its phantom culture to joke about d+p's 'codependency' (not that they are actually codependent). We have had some serious convo's about the topic and people have admitted that codependency is not a good thing. But tbh it's nice when people r joking about d+p missing each other rather than claiming that they are seriously.

Also, I really like the cover- it actually looks carefully designed and aesthetic to me.

I think I like the book cover. It's kinda reminiscent of the stage set which is probably partly what they were going for. There's not enough black on it which makes it a bit Phil-skewed but it's still cute. That they took 15,000 pictures and are using 2000 of them just blows my mind. That's a shitload of photos! I'll probably buy it. I bought TABINOF and I like to keep it as a bathroom reader. It's good because it's all in short snippets that you can read in pretty much any order or just browse the photo collages or whatever. I imagine a photo album would be a good bathroom reader too.

The cover is ugly af but it's starting to grow on me.
The idea that it was a photo book also didn't go well on me but Dan tweeting that they wrote a lot and thinking about what pictures we might get made me actually like it, I probably wouldn't want to buy if it was anyone else but them, tho. (can I please finally get a job just so I can make a credit card and be able to order these things, sigh, one day)

instagram: I don't think Dan will use the feature as much, I hope they're getting paid for it tho, get that koi pond! but I can see them just trying it out because it's new.
Didn't Phil, like, make an snapchat in a ls once and tried to work it out but didn't like it bc at the time there wasn't the 'story' option? I vaguely remember that happening.

You make perfect sense and I love your enthusiasm and warmth toward what they do! Honestly, I'm really looking forward to it too, I'm happy they managed to come up with some kind of physical offering to represent the tour. I will buy it and linger over the pages from the show I was at and enjoy being a fan.

thank you! I kept on joking about one of them falling apart when the other one is away because I thought it was a running joke in IDB. Please tell I am right? And besides, the codependency arguments (please don't start one we have enough of those) never point out to the emotional tweets/pictures. It's always about other things like being attached to the hips.

Book: not surprised but the cover... It's so D&P but it's cringy. I might buy it if the copy in my country will not be using glossy paper. Our TABINOF copy was printed on magazine type paper and it smelled so bad.

The documentary release is before the second book? But I thought YT red was available to the UK in November....I guess if the docu is released November 1st it gives people 2 days before getting the book?

I don't particularly like the cover either but I guess I'll buy it even though I know the all the images will be online at some point. My only legit criticism is that I wish the book had some stories instead of just captions because the docu is a BTS/making-of and doesn't seem like a DITL.

Okay, I actually like the cover. It's tacky, but it's very Dan and Phil, like many of you have said.

I'm very excited about the new book. One of my favorite pages in TABINOF was the 'photos you've probably never seen' or whatever page. So an entire book of photos? Sign me up.

I made the dumb decision to not go to TATINOF when the tickets first came out and then when I changed my mind they were sold out, so since I missed my chance to actually go I definitely don't want to miss my chance to get as much out of it as possible anyway. So I'll take a book and two documentaries. LOL

So yeah. Preordered the book. Excited for November. I'm glad we also have somewhat of a date for the documentary and TATINOF video now.

And I can totally foresee his explanation for this being something along the lines of "Well, we started taking photos and realized there were just TOO MANY to put on twitter and tumblr and instagram, so what better way to commemorate this crazy adventure than a book???!"

I'm not necessarily disappointed. I always say this, but if I were them, I'd do literally the exact same thing. This is their living, after all. What I am bothered by is the fact that this tome of pictures is the reason we got zilch through the tour. Like, I'm still bitter. A niagara falls photo on IG doesn't do it for me and this book does not contain "try new things" videos.

I agree that sharing their adventure while on tour would be 1000% more exciting for us than condensed in a 200+ pages worth of pictures several months later (that is physical copies of pics). It's like leaving Instagram for a year (if they posted frequently there it in the first place) and then printing it out in a book.
Maybe Instagram sponsored the release of this book I don't mind them cashing in, but I'm not sure I'll buy it, the best pictures will make it on the internet soon after it's out anyway..
