Dan & Phil Part 28: Possibly very gay

I did read the antiphan timeline, which I hope is the same thing you've read, and which I loved as it gave me another point of view. I really felt it was super short and I wanted more. I do hope it's an ongoing project and that the makers do finish it. The anti-phan blog that I said was very objective and that I liked actually led me to it.

I'm just quoting this cause I can't edit what I said now. What I meant by this was that I hope the anti-phan timeline I did read is the right one and I hope there's only one so we're on the same page. I did like reading it, although I have to admit it didn't dislodge my phan glasses, but I didn't dismiss it nor mock it. I accepted it and wished for more actually.

For me while I know that Dan and Phil do show us their personas most of the time (and I am one of the people convinced that their personas are part of who they are), especially in their vids, I do think that I know them somewhat. They are way more open with us on other social media and especially on Younow, so I can’t just dismiss all of that and say that I don’t feel like I know them at all.

Also for me, when I say that I think Phan is real, I am talking about Dan and Phil and not danisnotonfire and amazingphil.

Before you start talking about , let me say this: I'll identify them as 'Dan' and 'Phil' from now on I guess, because that's their real names and they seem to have no problem with us calling them that, so I hope that's something I can do. What is 'DanandPhil'? It's just two humans on this planet doing their thing, interacting with each other in a variety of ways and just trying to have a good time. That's all I know and that's enough.. for now.

Dan's an eligible bachelor: he can be an eligible bachelor, but if you're married to him, you're full on ready to compete with his best friend for his attention 24/7, which definitely sounds like fun and is not exhausting at all. Gl with that

Mimei liking phanart on tumblr: while I understand how it might be something that is a bit awkward, I still see nothing wrong with her doing that. It's fine to enjoy phanart as long as you understand it's just art and nothing else. I'm not sure if it's ok to ship your close acquaintances (probably not), but still, I don't think it's something she should be actively ashamed of.

This. There is definitely a distinct difference between AmazingPhil and Danisnotonfire as compared to Phil Lester and Dan Howell. I do believe tbat at the least, they are best friends. I think it is safe to assume that they were/are somehing more, considering old proof where they were not internet famous, and people generally wern't as garded. Again, we do not know them personally, so who really knows.

I used to have the same reaction but new FNAF is actually pretty damn great and very different and I would LOVE to see Dan and Phil play it (they are probably going to fail everything after night 2 so hard tho lol)

FNAF is a game relies to much on jump scares (and i have seen too much fan art of lewd animatronics to be scared of them anymore) though i'm delighted by their shrieks of terror its frustrating that more often than not we only get 15 minutes of Dan not knowing what to do and failing at everything. though linear game design would be better the problem is that they will probably play it only once.

im excited about the outlast 2 demo though

the new fnaf is really good though!! it's totally different from the last ones and there's a lotta great voice acting lol, i'd say it relies more on the suspense than jump scares this time, it's even easier to get through the first few nights before shit hits the fan during night 4 (that one was insanely difficult, they even had to release the patch), although i expect deppy to suck and manage to screw up during the easiest parts lol. can't wait to see them play it.

It's unscripted, fluid, and is influenced by the questions they are asked (or at least the ones they want to acknowledge.) They do a bit of promotion, but other than that, you never know what to expect, or what kind of mood they (OK, Dan) will be in. It would be very difficult to remain "in character" for an hour, so I'd say that what we see in these streams is very close to - if not exactly - who they are irl.

Naw, I'm just saying that most of the time, we do see their "real" personalities. I'm agreeing with you, but suggesting (to everyone) that we pretty much know what they are like. They don't hide behind "personas," those are just characters they (sometimes) play on TV YT.

I agree with this. I think people who seem to view Dan and Phil on camera as entirely different people than they are off camera are severely over-estimating Dan and Phil's acting ability. It seems equally naive to me to think they're always acting as it does to think they've never prepared or rehearsed anything they say to a camera. But realizing people genuinely believe they never see the real Dan and Phil that does help me see why there are such drastic differences in perception sometimes.

Also if I am talking to my parents for an hour, I won't swear, I'll keep the conversation to things they are interested in and for the most part we'll talk about people we mutually know. I'll also adjust my conversation when talking to my friends or work colleagues. All these people know the real me, I don't put on an act for them but they don't know the whole me.

I love fatal frame, what I wouldn't give for them to play it But I would want them to play it all, because part of the fun is seeing more ghosts, seeing the plot unfold, if you only play a couple of parts then you won't get the full spook experience.


About dan and phil being themselves on Younow, well if Younow is anything to go by, then they aren't together, judging by Dan's long-time outright denial. But, jokes aside, I'm sure he just stopped answering questions about it so he never has to answer. I can't believe for a second that people stopped asking him if Phan is real or if he's single. I call liar liar dan on fire if someone claims that they stopped asking. I think it's just Dan stopped answering. Chat flies by, and I would probably bet he would just turn out premium questions if he didn't want to answer them.

Jameela (sp?) was the only one who recently bugged them about being single and Dan deflected the answers. Giving a "half truth". Saying "can you tell? is it that obvious?" is either truth or just self-deprecation of what a "sad loser" he poses himself to be. Mind you I found her annoying in that pushy, nosey way. Maybe I just need to know her better though, since I only knew her through her interactions with deppy.

Exactly. Yeah younow is technically not a video but they can direct that discussion how they want. We've even seen Dan with a list of notes on his computer to discuss things that he wants to talk about. I mean what do we really get from a younow about them? That Dan loves Kanye, Phil loves house plants, they love anime. It's not exactly giving us things we don't know which is why I stand by the fact we don't know that much about them.

On saying that; I don't think there is anything that interesting in their personal lives to know. They're just normal human beings who like to sit indoors playing computer games and watching shitty tv shows or having friends round. I do however believe that they show us more dinof & AP personalities online, including their twitters. The times I've met Dan (not m&g situations) he has definitely not been the loud shouty confident person he is on a video or in a controlled m&g environment but I've discussed that many times before so won't bore you all to death with it again.
