Dan & Phil Part 31: You're stuck with me for life

When the video was over and they went back to outro #spon mode I was so confused for a moment. I can't even say why. It was something about the atmosphere that had really caught me in, as well as it feeling extremely third-wheeling.
Need to go rewatch and collect my thoughts on this.

True!!! I felt this too! The ending is interchangeable with every other ending that they have done for the past year and it left me confused for a sec. (For me Dan was cute and genuine in this vid so it was weird to see him go back to spon mode).

I liked it! Not the best, but better than 7 imo, though that might just be the high I'm now on talking. But I watched it a few times now and I genuinely enjoyed it every time so yay!

I was literally writing a post freaking out about Phil's arm freckles when you posted this. I am obsessed with freckles so I had a mini freak out when I saw that. I paused and looked at it for quite a while because I'm very weird.....

I'll come out of lurking to say hello and give my quick opinions of the new phil is not on fire:

I liked it, but I think it didn't have the 'pop' that a lot of others did. Maybe because they have become more self aware in that the shipping is not going away. Did anyone else get that or just me?

I did like the subtlety of a lot of the jokes and of course the touching

The questions were mediocre, but seeing what other people put in the tag it's hardly surprising because as if they would put any explicit material in there. I find it embarrassing, and this is why I choose not to participate much in 'phan' culture.
Prefacing that I am 27 years old, more on the 'older' demographic.

Other than that, it was good. Here's to next year

I think this is my favorite pinof since the first one. They were understated, relaxed, but in a way that made it seem like they were actually having fun and not just downing a ton of sugar beforehand and then frantically acting things out before the rush wore off. This feels like a continued example of things we've already noticed: they're relaxing their attitude toward touching each other, normalizing it for both random affection and humor, and dropping (some of) the over the top reactions they have, and Phil's humor is more adult without feigning innocence every time.

I can somewhat understand when people say pinof is tired but watching this one felt so different and genuine. To me, it seemed like they were having fun, not only doing it to appease the fans, and not overthinking it. Which makes it more enjoyable to watch.
Some random thoughts:

I don't know how many times I have been replaying it but I totally love it I agree that they seemed a little bit tired, but I think they looked very happy and relaxed too. They have had a very stressful month, so I think that if they looked tired it was due to all the things they had had to do that week. I mean, they clearly enjoyed PINOF a lot

I loved it, I agree that it was relaxed and just them having fun. Nothing felt forced and I liked how Phil seemed more adult and less censored.

I have watched it three times and could easily watch it another three. I really enjoyed it.
I didn't get the thing you're all saying about the bed sheets, it just felt like they were trying to be funny and pretend they didn't swap the sheets over. Nothing more.

Oh and did anyone else notice during the mannequin section (2:17) that it looked like Dans blobfish plushie was on Phil's shelving unit? I'm not 100% sure it is the plushie but it really looks like it.

On rewatch I did like it a lot better...I can't remember which Pinof - probably 4 or 5 but every time Phil touched Dan, Dan would make a face or verbally say he was disgusted and now not only has he dropped the faces but he initiated most of the physical contact so I'm glad Dan has grown so much.

Also, got strong platonic vibes from this and it's funny that the more open they are the less I believe in the "ship" and the more I believe in the "friend"ship. Not a bad thing because I love them either way but just an observation.

Yeah I've seen people complain on Twitter for a few weeks now. I don't think D&P are affected much, when I looked at Phil's page earlier his views seemed fine (as long as it's not about the tour or book anyway).

The best friends and dating shtick is certainly not mutually exclusive (new T-shirt merch for the boys? ) At this point I think are using the 'best friends' label purely because it sums up their relationship so well! Also, as it's clearly the "label" with which they're publically comfortable, it's probably going to stay the course, which I'm absolutely fine with. (And also perhaps - unintentionally? - genius, branding-wise: if there's some kind of break-up in romance-ville with Deppy, we as the viewers won't fall off the train, so to speak, as has happened countless times with YouTube couples. I loved it. I have to agree with Dizzy about the whole bf's and more/married. God knows the only person I would let touch my bedside drawer is my hubby. If we both die my cousin has been told to burn the whole thing before my parents come to clean out the house. Just saying...

I loved the touching, but not the obvious touching, the small "move over/you're in the way" touching, someone else commented on one instance of it too (soz don't remember who). It really stuck out to me first watch through. I mean we know they are comfortable with each other but it is touching like that that really cements that for me.

Also I would like to retract my comments about the horrible suggestions that were in the tag.
