Oh hey this is old news but can somebody help me: ok so at the boncas, somebody said Grace put her hand on her heart when Phil said the '2016 with another person line' and brought Dan up, but the fan videos I've seen are from the other side so Grace isn't in shot. And in Tom's vlog (around 10:00), he had the PERFECT angle with Grace/Mamrie in shot but he zooms in just as Phil starts the line, cutting her out so we can't see her reaction. So I'm just wondering if anybody can point me in the direction of a video including her reaction if it happened. AND IF IT DID happen, did Tom edit around it (after the fact) on purpose, or was that just some coincidental zooming done in-the-moment? This isn't groundbreaking stuff, but my curiosity is nagging at me, thanks.

For a hot minute, you guys got me hyped on the "Not Too Deep" idea. Damn it. I dream of the day Grace and Deppy work together again.

That said, my new favorite theory (via tumblr) is that they filmed Amazing Dan 3, but I don't want to get my hopes up so I'm going to tell myself this was the "shitstorm" and it's all downhill from here.

Dan and Phil as two gorillas in a Disney cartoon might easily be in my top 3 moments of the last week. It's been a ride, y'all. But this? It's just so cute and the plot is cute and they worked with Disney and the gorillas have little fringes and it's all them and it just... it made me emotional.

chloek88, your post was soso great and very true! It's something I try to explain to people when I tell them why I'm a fan of D&P. Because they're involved in the best kind of way. The way Dan feeds off of the fandom is so unique and lovely. It's not just that he validates the Phandom's interests and concerns, but he has a conversation with us. The Phandom is huge at this point, but it still always feels like there's a comfortable, joking back-and-forth between us and them. I know we talk a lot about the sort of stuff tweeted for PINOF8 or that the audience scares Dan into a paralyzed need for quality control, but that's just the result of having a large audience. Dan and Phil consistently prove that regardless, you can make fans feel connected and a bit like family and I honestly don't know any other fandom like it.

I'm so excited for this, Lion King is my favorite Disney movie (although it's very hard to choose a second favorite and third...but Lion King is certainly #1) I've seen it and Lion King 2 so many times, not to mention the musical (which I would see again, 10/10). When I went to NYC with my friend in late August, we went to the huge Disney store in Times Square and I noticed all the Lion King merch and was like "which character is this?" Then I learned about The Lion Guard. I thought about checking it out, but never got around to it. This is such a great excuse to check it out! I hope it's a good show and does The Lion King justice...I'm kinda surprised there's a spin-off series this much later after the original movie!

i've just watched phil defranco's video on how the youtube trending page works (to sum it up, who the fuck knows it's not like youtube is transparent or anything)

and now i'm annoyed pinof didn't make its way into it with 1.5m views, 270k likes and 54k comments in 24 hours

it would have been a funny throwback to when one of their videos (a pinof maybe? can't remember tbh) made it's way to the youtube homepage and they got a shit ton of random people watching and felt the need to add a psa style annotation saying that they were not gay and just friends, lol (that did happen right?, now i'm starting to think i might be confusing phanfic with reality)

edit: he also mentioned channels dropping on views so i checked phil's channel and yup, somehow his channel went down 42k views yesterday, and dan's 88k, amazing, gotta love youtube being a functional website, gosh if i was a youtuber i would be consistently furious and stressed about it

As a Disney geek I am so proud of the boys for this opportunity and can't wait to watch the episode. Hoping it's uploaded somewhere as I'm not waiting till May to watch it.

I am hoping this could lead to future voice acting with Disney, this part seems bigger than BH6 so maybe they will get a larger role in a movie next time. As much as I would love a two gay princes movie, Disney would never go down that route unfortunately. Look at how much uproar Finding Dory caused with the so-called gay woman in the trailer, though it was never confirmed the lady was in fact gay.

Could it be possible that we won't get two explicitly gay princes, but two at the very least subtly sexually ambiguous princes? Disney has had a few subtle gay character cameos in the past, even though they have faced criticism with each one (first one that comes to mind is the Zootopia antelopes, idk if anyone know what I am talking about haha). I am all for Disney trying to include very subtle queer representation in children's shows in order to normalize these things, but alas this is most likely not what they are doing with Deppy. Hell, if they make them brothers I am never going to stop laughing . Now that would definitely be a slap in the face to the "gay princes" theory.

Oh btw, Hi guys! New poster, longtime lurker . I am so excited for Deppy working with Disney again, and tbh extremely proud of them for trying something this different, and broadening their horizons. This is super late but:

PINOF8 Can I say this is one of my favourite PINOFs ever?? They were so cute with each other in a very friendly way, and it shows that they're so familiar with each other after being flatmates for so many years. I liked the casual touches (as others have mentioned) - it wasn't played up for fanservice or to encourage tumblr gifs etc. but it was just the way two people who have lived together for some time would interact. Also, the last bit with Dan carrying Phil - please I need the bloopers of Phil carrying Dan; that would be hilarious. When I saw the tweet in the PINOF tag, I thought "pick up" meant like using pick up lines on each other though? I never expected a literal "picking up".

No you're kind of right. It was the Pinof 4 bloopers. Dan originally named the video "HOT SEXY PHANTASTIC ACTION" but later corrected the title and made that psa annotation (that he's since removed again).

However I don't think it was because it made the hot page - he posted the video in September 2012 and didn't change the title until January 2013. He also changed the title of two other videos at the same time, FANDOMS and Uncle Ken (which used to be named HARDCORE INTERNET FANS and BURGLAR RAPE), so it was probably just him going through his channel and updating stuff he didn't like about it.

Looking forward to the gorilla thing.
