De-lurking to say I don't think we should have high hopes in terms of phan reveal or some kind of significant reaction for the guards thing in Undertale 'cause it was Phil who read for them both the first time Deppy encountered them (I wonder if it was intentional). Chances are we'll get some "awww"-s and "good for you"-s and maybe some generic statement of support like Dan makes in the ISG. I think Deppy's answer about watching YoI in the joint ls is a good example of their current attitude, very matter of fact and no mention of homosexuality in relation to why they are watching it (as in they like relationship stuff and Phil would like more of the onsen action, but no attention whatsoever is drawn to the nature of relationship and characters in the onsen being male)

I know this is very very late, but it just hit me that when Phil called his Mum about IWBM thing, she probably made the connection about her son playing the same game they used to play as a family during festive season but now with his BF(F) (and for money)

totally irrelevant to all discussion but last night i replied to a bunch of old phil tweets for the lols, and i was informed that all of them mentioning charlieskies were deleted, apparently if you comment on a charlieskies tweet he deletes it - interesting? how does phil find these and delete them?

I'm pretty sure he finds them because people go back and reply to them. It doesn't matter how old the tweet is, if someone replies he's going to see the @ mention. (And I hate that, too. Most of Phil's old tweets are pretty harmless to reply to, but I do wish people would leave the controversial ones alone. It makes me so nervous thinking of what disappears before anyone has a chance to screencap.)

Also BisexualShoeMarriage, this gave me the impression that the challenge lasts from Oct 4th-Nov 4th, not necessarily the characters:

But for the record, I definitely believe they prefilmed their videos, just maybe not as far in advance as Oct 4th-Nov 4th.

The challenge description on the website is a bit ambiguous, but that's definitely not how it worked in my game. Between the 4th Oct and the 4th Nov, random npcs (non-playable characters) would wander around wearing Day of the Dead costumes and makeup. The challenge was to ask them for sugar skulls until had at least one of each of the 10 designs. If a sim you were controlling managed to collect all 10 designs before the 4th November, sims in that particular household gained the ability to change into Day of the Dead costume and makeup at any point in the future. But after the 4th November, the challenge ended. The sims wandering around randomly in costume were part of the challenge. Now that the challenge has ended, npcs no longer wander around randomly in Day of the Dead dress, and the Day of the Dead costumes are unaviliable unless that sim's household completed the challenge. NPCs cannot autonomously collect sugar skulls, and even if they could, no sim can autonomously change into Day of the Dead costume. They were either put in it temporarily by the game so that they could give out sugar skulls Oct-Nov 4th, or they are put in it by a player who has gained them that ability.

I don't know what was going on in Dan and Phil's game, but if there were npcs wandering around in Day of the Dead costumes after 4th November that's definitely not how it's supposed to work. If lilMango is right about them having a game version released on 1st Dec then that's really quite weird, because on 4th November there was a game update which ended the Day of the Dead challenge. Maybe they somehow skipped the 4th Nov update when they did the 2nd Dec one, and are now permanently stuck with Day of the Dead npcs?

Is it possible to set the in-game date to a time in the past? For example, Animal Crossing uses real time and dates, but if you change the date and time on your 3DS it affects the game. Is there a way to do this in the sims?
