I know we all talk about deppy moving but when did it become a popular theory that Dan and Phil were going to lie about moving?
I was watching an amazingphil video (can't remember if it was from his year or last) but it was around May when their lease is up and he was talking about how if the landlord didn't let them stay they had flats in mind that they had went to look at. I know d and p like to dissemble but I don't think they've ever actually lied about their apartment/living situation

yeah like the source of the screenshot/when it all first appearedalittledizzy wrote:I don't know about the screenshot but if you're looking for proof that the comments were real, there's a tweet mentioning them within a couple hours of the video originally leaking in 2011. What is it you're suspecting, that the screencap is fake and there were comments (which we definitely know) but that they were different from the ones in the screencap?melon lord wrote:yeah like the source of the screenshot/when it all first appearedalittledizzy wrote:I don't know about the screenshot but if you're looking for proof that the comments were real, there's a tweet mentioning them within a couple hours of the video originally leaking in 2011. what if #phandivorce is real though and it's actually a plot to prepare us for "we had to move out immediately so the only possible solution was to move out separately for the time" [5 months later] "yes so i moved into this flat which i have all for myself now" we need to open our eyes, it's all there
thank's you were great
Idk but Dan (at least youtuber Dan Howell) has stated that he hates being alone and he is scared when he is by himself. The only way I see #phandivorce working is if they move in with different roommates or a significant other.lurker wrote:i hereby nominate you for the official idb psychic award, this is definitely going to happen, dannonfill wrote:@AmazingPhil

Agreed! I don't understand when this whole thing got big. But I do know this happens every year twice a year. Once in the beginning of the year and once in the summer. And funny thing is, dan and Phil have yes expressed how they have no storage and how they don't like certain things about the flat, but they haven't expressed a strong desire to completely move out. The storage issue can easily be resolved if they took the time to sort out all their stuff and see what they want and don't want anymore. Storage gate wasn't a thing until after their big tour dates, which honestly is understandable as they haven't really been home much.Amiaw wrote:I know we all talk about deppy moving but when did it become a popular theory that Dan and Phil were going to lie about moving?

I think the theory has become big because of the whole "is phan real or not" agenda. It's kinda like how everyone says they'll come out every year but they don't. For some, moving has to do with that mindset, which to me, doesn't make any sense if they move anywhere else together. It doesn't prove anything to me. Them not moving together would be the opposite though, ofcourse.
Regarding that video you're talking about, that was from 2014, but it still stands. They haven't lied about where they lived. Why would they start now anyways? As youtubers, you literally work from home, if you move homes, people are going to notice/find out.

Not that the comment was fake, more like where did the images originate from, how did it spread, where did it start, that kind of thing.alittledizzy wrote:

If it's fake it's impossible to tell; low quality screenshots can easily be manipulated, and by now any data that could give you a clue is generic or gone. I would go insane thinking about its genuineness (is that the word?), so I just take it as real, for my own sanity, because I'd be up all night doing research for a pointless chase.

I still can't understand how they could have been having a gas leak for years and suffer no ill effects. Even if it's a tiny leak, surely it would have to affect your health eventually? Can't wait for Dan's liveshow now cause I want him to explain this properlysimmehchan wrote: I can't believe them

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Dan say a gasman came into the apartment once way back in a live show in 2015? If so, how in the world did a gas leak in their apartment building go undetected for over four years if periodically a gasman would come in?simmehchan wrote: I can't believe them

Yeah, now I'm wondering about the circumstances of how they found out about the leak...it hardly seems to be from their own intuition to find out what the funny smell was after four years? I mean, unless it was someone else (like the landlord) who found out and told them, I wonder what other reason came about when examining the flat that led to this discoveryMoonPride wrote: Interesting theory!!
Btw is this gas leaks held accountable by the landlord? Or is it their own fault for the issue?
Okay, if that's actually true then I'm actually going to support the theory that this is all BS reasoning for moving outconfusedpanda wrote:Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Dan say a gasman came into the apartment once way back in a live show in 2015? The landlord should send someone round for a yearly gas check as that is what my landlord does.000dia000 wrote:Yeah, now I'm wondering about the circumstances of how they found out about the leak...it hardly seems to be from their own intuition to find out what the funny smell was after four years? i think you're right about that. i guess part of it is probably really a sort of "new year's fever" as in, people being anxious about what 2017 will bring for them and if there will be any big changes, or expecting something bad to happen because what's happening now seems "to good to be true". another part might be due to tatinof being over now, dapgo possibly being released as the nostalgic seal on that bin, the rebranding talk from a few months ago at the back of our minds, and the talk of no big professional goals on the horizon for 2017. i haven't been around for the moving talk from a year ago, but i get the impression that it's getting big at the moment because with all that it seems that there might be some changes with respect to their content and people are wondering how that'll reflect on their personal lives. and then, as we like to think in extremes, we tend to either think "they're going to move in a big house with a garden and a koi pond, adopt a dog, and be happy" or "#phandivorce". i can only speak for me, but when i make a joke about that, it's because i tend to go all "what if they reveal they actually hate each other" sometimes and need to remind myself that it's just not realistic.confusedpanda wrote:I think the theory has become big because of the whole "is phan real or not" agenda. wasn't the gasman a Thing, as in, it seemed like he'd made up the question leading up to that? i have faint memories of that.confusedpanda wrote:Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Dan say a gasman came into the apartment once way back in a live show in 2015?

It's possible the 2015 gasman was just checking the meter so their bill would be accurate, but idk. It must have been a very small leak to go unnoticed for so long. Entire phandom's almost flying over there like Mary Poppins to sort them out.

I think the gas leak as a moving hint depends on if it's in their flat, or in their building. All Phil clarified was that it was downstairs, but that could mean the downstairs in their flat specifically (where the bathroom is, then down from there) or the downstairs as leading to the front door of their flat (the part in the festive DITL where the lightbulb is flickering).
If it's building-wide, then I don't think they'd specifically have had anything to do with reporting it.

The list is certainly a lot longer than I thought it would be but I feel like only a couple of them were made into memes and the rest of the list...are just things that happened? On the other hand, I could see the reverse happening: "we had to move in such a rush that it was easier to find just one place, so woopdeedoo we're still roommates but it's totally only for the sake of convenience"lurker wrote:i hereby nominate you for the official idb psychic award, this is definitely going to happen, dannonfill wrote:@AmazingPhil

(a bit offtopic)
Talking about pointless chase, I was digging old dan & phil tweets the other day for fun, and stumble upon a tweet of Dan to Lost Wiki complaining about some grammar mistake. I wonder if that is when Dan starts his involvement with Lost Wiki so I went to the community forum to try to find what his user might be / if he post anything interesting, but there are more than one thousand user and I give up. Lol.
Love is forever

I'm inclined to say the same thing, most of these were not acknowledged long enough or spread wide enough to be memeRaspberrypi wrote:The list is certainly a lot longer than I thought it would be but I feel like only a couple of them were made into memes and the rest of the list...are just things that happened?
