Oh, interesting. So do we know/think that Dan hung out with Phil and his cousin too?oqua wrote:Random:

I deciphered the blurred message in this picture (tweeted by Dan on 29 January 2012):
It says:
Presumably they were talking about March 11th, 2012, and the "Al" in question was Phil’s cousin Al, whose March birthday Phil once referenced in a tweet saying "HAPPY BIRTHDAY COUSIN AL."
- Sounds good to
Me! Also we should maybe
mention that we may be
free on the 11th if al
cancels and we’l hopefully
find that out tomorrow
According to another one of his tweets, Phil did hang out with Martyn and Cornelia on the 11th, so presumably Al didn’t cancel.
Anyway, this is related to nothing, but I wanted to have a record of this transcription somewhere haha.

I hadn't actually thought about it from that angle, but now that you mention it, it does seem likely that Dan hung out with them too, given the way Phil says "we may be free" and "we'l hopefully find that out"! Has anyone looked at the tumblr account @phangate? It's pretty lolzor and clearly someone just looking to wind the phandom up but I did find it pretty hilarious.
I'm on my phone so will put some of the posts under a spoiler as they'll end up massive.

As though Deppy would contract any management without a long-term non-disclosure agreement (or any actual, reputable, management firm would not have that as matter of course).

Phangate is probably the funniest thing for a long time. I usually really hate things like this but this is grade a shitposting. Proper gave me a laugh tonight, just what I needed.

This phandom troll is much funnier than the 'lololol we hacked dan and have sooooo much information guise'
It made me laugh because it is completely ridiculous, I've seen so many funny posts about it on twitter too. It's times like this when the phandom pull together and just make a huge joke of it that I find it funny. Sometimes I wish Dan and Phil would secretly join in with the LOL and tweet something stupid hinting at it.
A few thoughts on the Felix/pewdiepie situation under the spoiler, because I got some things on my mind I cannot leave unsaid.
Moral nuance, people. Of course it isabsolutely vital for a society to have discussions about morality and it is completely fair to speak up when somebody says or does something that is plain out shite (like the thing felix did)
But I really cannot stand the whole "person did a problematic thing now they are irredeemably bad" kind of thinking. How are we to progress as a society if we just discount someone completely because of something they said in the past? You call someone's mistake out (rightfully so) and demand they apologize but then never forgive.
How does that make any sense? You are not morally pure either, and each and everyone of us has done something morally questionable or will do something morally questionable at some point in their lives.
A callout should move someone to genuinely change their behavior and thoughts and not something to make you feel morally superior and super smug. And then demand that deppy publically ostracize a person because you passed a judgement over the goodness of a person. Ew.

Why are y'all convinced Felix is a big bad Youtube King who is using his unofficial power to shut down any potential callouts (intentional or not). All around the world in that infamous *Real Life TM* people remain friends with people who exhibit shitty traits, including lack of PC (in the best sense of that word) and even give them public support. Because they value the friendship (family relationship etc.) sometimes to the extent that their backbone disappears and / or they don't think it's a hill to die on. It's the same as loyal people who have serial cheater friends. It happens all the bloody time

I very much agree with these 2 posts, people seemed disappointed with Dan and Phil for their so called 'endorsement' of Pewdiepie's behavior. As much as I am beginning to see the real problem with his behavior, I would never expect dan and phil to call him out, and I'm not surprised that dan made the 'problematic dad' joke. Felix's friends are much more prone to see and acknowledge his point of view in this situation ( even if it is skewed) because they know him and his personality, and can perhaps assume that his intentions are not harmful.
It does seem to me that pewdiepie is being turned into some kind of evil figure in this situation, to the point where it is seen as wrong for him to be mentioned in a favorable way. I personally don't see why people have to be so completely shunned over their actions ( unless they are actually irredeemable ie. murder) I guess calling them out might be important in order to get someone to see the harm in what they are doing, but I don't think making them out to be the villain really accomplishes anything in that aspect.
btw gnostic welcome back
tldr; I agree with these posts
how have i never noticed this before??? i love dan's dramatic expressionsoqua wrote:I saw these gifs on Tumblr and Dan and Phil's faces are so perfect that I just had to share.

The first two gifs seriously give me life. What a great response (from both of them) to a bs heteronormative claim like "girls like hot boys and hot boys like pretty girls"
Just look at the disdain on Phil's face. Glorious. I think this counts as Phil priss face.

And then Dan is just like "r u kidding me wtf"

This kind of trolling isn't usually that amusing to me but I will fully agree with you there - this is at least way funnier than some of the recent attention-grabbing troll antics phandom has seen!missemma wrote:This phandom troll is much funnier than the 'lololol we hacked dan and have sooooo much information guise'
