i really loved watching this liveshow i think going back home to see friends & family was a good break and he seemed to be in a great mood. it was nice to hear some birthday/IOM anecdotes!
moments & my liveshow thoughts:

1:19 - “i went for a jog today.” good for him i hope he sticks with jogging & exercising with his new gym membership.
3:13-11:37 - talks about the birthday presents he got.
3:13 - new grey vans from martyn.
5:51 - ‘rewined' candle.
7:05 - “snazzy” glitter beetle jumper from his parents.
7:36 - sushi gummy set from dan with “the same case that we order sushi delivers in, which is hilarious.” / reminded him of the tour when he last got it.
8:51 - phil’s grandma used to call licorice ‘spanish’ and he does a cute impersonation of her.
9:08 - “i’ve been really trying to learn since we went to japan and i was a total flop.” improved using chopsticks for next japhan trip .
9:40 - book about the history of socks.
10.16 - firefly on blueray.
10:32 - terrarium from his friends “like the one dan smashed everywhere.”
11:05 - lava lamp from dan.
12:45 - “i went up north(..) everyday was a good day for going outside, going for a walk, hanging out by the beach, looking at the seaside.” so nice that they spent the time relaxing, going on family walks, and eating good food .
13:50 - “my mom made me a cake.” this cake was cute as hell, mrs. lester is amazing .
17:20 - shows hatched emu egg.
20:36 - “CHAT: thoughts on the beauty and the beast trailer?” “p: i’m not sure, does it need to be made again? is that a controversial opinion?”
21:05 - “CHAT: it looks amazing, i’m excited.” “p: okay, i’ll be excited.” i know this is just something about a movie but i think it kind of shows how he does deal with “controversial opinions.” he shared his opinion that the movie isn’t really necessary and when people in the chat disagreed he says he’ll be excited/kind of takes back his opinion .
22:40 - dan falling was “a mixture of hilarious and genuine concern-ity.”
26:30 - “though, dil has baby dab so that’s enough children for me to look at at the moment.”
29:16 - “CHAT: will you ever get a dog?” “yes!(..)there is a dog on the horizon.” my favorite part of the liveshow !! i did think it was strange he wanted to prove the “yes” by showing the camera but didn’t with any other answer.
31:55- 35:00 - story about being too scared to walk on the path with holes. “didn’t know i’d be afraid of heights - i was(..) just that specific situation freaked me out.”
38:11 - “she knew that i’d asked for a red velvet cake so she bought me red velvet cookies.” aww once again mrs. lester is amazing .
38:38 - talks about celebrating friend birthday.
39:07 - “i’ve still got that childhood fear [of a restaurant singing to you for your birthday].”
39:39 - “my parents would take me to this place and we pretend it was my birthday like three times a year.” this is so funny.
42:26 - beach walk/ dead pigeon story.
45:25 - “CHAT: what do you prefer birthdays or christmas?” “p: i prefer christmas because i feel like birthdays is a lot about me while christmas is about everyone."

(and then he left the second one at someone else's house and tweeted to give it back to him for the next four months, plus one random tweet a year later. i assume he did not get that hat back.)

wait, i'm pretty sure he did get it back eventually. in january 2012 he answered this vyou that he got this hat at h&m 2 years ago (so december 2009 when he got hat #2) and then he still had it as of at least december 2014 (last time i remember it). or am i confused and this isn't the same hat?

Oh maybe he did get it back then! For some reason I just assumed he bought a third but there's really no proof of that.

i know that dan used to wear a furry hat quite frequently back in the day, but can someone tell me the origins of it? i've heard that phil got it for him but idk if it's true. i'm imagining that phil got him this new one as well, for the sake of nostalgia and true love . if that's the case, it make dan's recent picture wrapping his face in it even cuter

Ahhh, everything seems so lovely for them at the moment and it's truly keeping me sane. Every morning I wake up and check twitter, and I'm just bombarded with all the sweet things that have happened over night regarding dnp and god, what a nice contrast to the constant barrage of horrific politics news.

That photo Dan posted truly killed me, I think that emoji speaks volumes for how he's felt on IoM, and it's nice that it was just a sweet, honest post without any attempt to be jokey or cynical.

Phil's liveshow was really lovely as well, I really enjoyed how comfortably he talked about celebrating with his family and Dan. I truly have no idea how anyone could even entertain the thought that they're hiding secret girlfriends at this point tbh

6) Updated "Off-topic" style

+ oqua coding queen. The tw code makes so much more sense now. I've always wondered if the off-topic one could be changed to something similar (cos it looks a bit weird putting the less relevant stuff in bold?)

Ah, I've always been a been unhappy with the bold OT text too! I've modified it slightly so it's not bold anymore.

7) Alternative spoiler tag with content label

I also added a kind of alternate spoiler tag feature? It gives you the option of changing the text of the spoiler button from "Show" to whatever you like. This also now lets you do three levels of spoilers but please don't abuse this feature lmao

The tag is [Hide=] and after the = you write whatever you want the spoiler to be labeled. Note however that the only characters you can use in the label are letters, numbers, spaces, commas, dots, minus, plus, and underscores. (The normal "spoiler" tag still is perfectly fine, but I thought there might be instances where this alternative would be a helpful feature.)

8) TUMBLR EMBEDDING

You have no idea how long I took attempting to figure out a way to embed Tumblr posts. I tried like a million options and nothing worked. The solution I finally came up with isn't perfect - you have to use part of the embed code, rather than just the url - but it's the best way I've been able to come up with.

Here's what you do:

Let's use as an example the post: http://danisnotonfire.tumblr.com/post/3 ... ow-dan-and

Here are the steps to embed it:

• 1. Go to the post's "embed" page, which can be found by clicking the embed button in the upper right corner of the page, or by adding /embed to the end of the url.
  
  2. Highlight the embed code up until the ">" before "<a href". I recommend that you start in between the "><" and highlight backward, otherwise it will automatically select the entirety of the code for you.

Note: If the Tumblr user changes their URL or deletes the post, the embedded post won't work anymore. So use caution!! I feel like one situation where Tumblr posts are quoted is when there's some sort of drama, and these posts often end up deleted. So if you're talking about Tyler Oakley's latest questionable phan reblog or Evan Edinger's latest shady reply to an ask about the phandom, screenshots are probably your friend (at least include one under a spoiler as a backup.) Also, some phandom blogs tend to change their URLs pretty frequently, so Tumblr embedding probably isn't a reliable way to insert things like gifsets. I think the feature will be best to use with things like Dan's tumblr reblogs or other posts that are unlikely to be deleted or have their URL changed. But yeah! I'm really glad I finally figured out how to make this possible and I hope it's useful!

De-lurking just to say this: I've always hesitantly shipped deppy (loved the idea of them together, thought that they definitely had something at some point, wasn't 100% sure if they were still an item), but this birthday weekend at IoM has fully convinced me. These boys will be the death of me.

I completely agree! I'm mostly phanagnostic, and this past year i've been seeing them as just friends, but something about the isle of man trip has totally turned it around for me. i guess it's just the fact that they're subtly acknowledging each other as family. it fills my heart

Yeah, I knew the new hat was definitely not the same one. I am wondering what happened to the other one thought, I wonder if he'd ever wear it again or it's too linked to images of old Dan? I feel like sometimes they retire items of clothing just because they're done with the association.
