I said this to others earlier, but this video had me wondering if Dan and Phil of 2014 ever thought they'd have ended up at this point: releasing a video on their gaming channel that's so shallow and strange that I would hesitate to even call it a game.
By no means am I shooting this video down. I'm sure there's a significant portion of the audience that thoroughly enjoyed this (and another equally big portion, myself included, who are happy to watch Dan and Phil interact in any capacity), but like... I just don't get it?
At this point, I'm not necessarily asking them to play anything intense. I think I'm finally waving the white flag on FPS games, but I don't think it's reaching for me to ask them to just.... play a real game.
I'd love to agree with this, because the sheer amount of content they're putting out is incredible, but I just took a look at the last 10 games they released and it made me sad. I'm sure plenty of people will disagree, but game-wise, the only thing that really comes close to a proper action game is the golfing one? Sims is definitely a major game, but I've come to accept that Dil is hanging around for the views and not the game play.alittledizzy wrote:If they're posting 2-3 videos a week then I'm fine with ten episodes of this. They won't be back to back and likely won't ever be the only content we get that week so yeah like was so common with Undertale (or only video we get in two weeks, sometimes) - so bring it, boys.
I have no idea why this bothers me so much tbh. In the grand scheme of things, I'm really just here for the Phan interaction. I think I'm just really desperate for them to actively play each other at something. That's the fun in a co-hosted gaming channel, is it not? Not to read me a chapter of 50 Shades of Neigh.
Honestly, how much do I have to pay Carl?
My one positive note is that Phil is adorable in the last few videos. He seems to be coming into himself a bit more. It's refreshing.
