I grabbed all of these old Phil responses off of the i-am-bored forum he used to frequent a few months ago and don't think I ever posted them here... there are so many that I put them in a google drive instead of trying to redownload and embed them, but if you want to explore the world of Phil in a time before Dan: link.

(Most of them are lacking context, and some of them end up sounding weird/slightly offensive without it - but they're not hard to google. Or just ask, I spent a while on these so I will probably remember what he was talking about.)

Yeah the 'wow all women are naturally ugly it seems' was a response to this. And I really want to say it was Phil being sarcastic, since he has other comments replying disapprovingly to things he felt were too mean or hurtful.

are you sure that's what he is responding to? that answer is from 2007, that image of Emma Watson, for example, is from 2014.

Hm, you're right - that was just the link on the post he responded to but it looks like what was on that page has been changed since then. I'm not sure what the original was, in that case.

i couldn't watch the new deppy vid until now bc i was at my godmothers house and didnt feel it was appropriate to watch it without headphones lol but im i love with the video it's easily one of my top 5. the noises phil made were very..suggestive and dan couldn't stop screaming but those are both good things, yes even dan screaming bc for some reason i enjoy it bc im weird. but i did love the whispering parts, asmr ftw.

Everyone was like "I'm so proud of Dan!". I vaguely remember him being embarrassed they mentioned him by @DanIsNotOnFire. There is a follow up on the very day, but I can't seem to find anything past that. Did The Guardian just dropped a bunch of names? Like, they approached all those celebrities with "Can we include you? You'll seem like a very smart driven person. You don't have to do anything, don't worry about going to the protest or god forbid giving us a quote, we'll just type in your name, that's it". I'm familiar with a concept of open letter, but that was underwhelming. Dan never gave us an update. He cared enough about how his name was spelled, but not about the event itself?

When that article came out, I got the impression Dan had signed the petition but not actually committed to the march - as had the other people in the section he signed. Reading it back now, you're right that it does say they commit themselves to the demonstration. As much as I'd love for Dan to be more involved with this sort of thing, I can't actually see anything that wrong with celebrities signing a petition like this. It bolsters support and shows that they're using their voice/large following to demonstrate that they don't approve of what Donald Trump is doing, and while I know that's the bare minimum, it is effective in at the very least they've publicly positioned themselves as anti-Trump and are taking concrete action to show that.

Correct me if I'm wrong though, but wasn't Trump's visit delayed anyway as a result of the backlash? I can't find anything online as to whether the march actually ended up happening, but if Trump's visit got delayed then there would have been no reason for the march to go ahead, at least not for a while yet. Does anyone know if it actually happened? If it didn't, then that's obviously why we never heard anything more about Dan's involvement with it.

In other news, I'm so curious about Phil's new video. I wonder what's caused such a delay, how intriguing.

Because I'd be in favor of that actually. If there's any chance of them being on the show to do a best friend duo face-off, that would have a high chance of either being entertaining or cringe-worthy or both.

My prediction for the video is something that happened at the family wedding that Phil went to a while ago. Dan wasn't there so it makes sense that he told him afterwards, and the props he was waiting for could be a veil/top hat or something like that I guess we'll see!

Seems to me that it's only the Gleamers that are participating in #RedOut, according to my subs box. D&P have done stuff for RND in the past, I'd be surprised if they'd turned the charity down...I reckon they weren't approached.

I prefer the vid that they did for Dan’s channel a lot more a few years ago. It was entertaining, explained things and had something that the viewers could do as well.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Like, how on earth is that supposed to raise awareness and make people donate? Sure, people might visit the website but as you said, there are better ways to do that. But I don't want to shit on it too early, maybe they plan on doing something else as well
