I think it might be worth it. Just imagine all the awkward questions or requests they get (or let's not, it's safer) that they have to politely navigate. Robots can just go: REQUEST DENIED - INAPPROPRIATE or ERROR - SECURITY REMOVE GUEST FROM MEETING AREA. They're basically renting out their likeness for the zooseum (name needs work) and get that sweet M&G cash with none of the clammy hands. The robots can compliment everyone's hair and thank them for watching their videos and the hugs would be the same I'm just saying.

Plot twist: Dan-clone and Phil-clone hate each other and hijinks ensue. A fic I might actually read.

Now that sounds amazing. I've gotta get back into writing so I can do something with these things when people come up with ideas, though I feel bad cos then they're not my ideas, and also realperson fic makes me a bit :wtf: but anyway (though I don't do smut in fic either way cos I find reading descriptions of sex hilarious and gross, so maybe it wouldn't be so bad).

I didn't think much of the girls filming them secretly or without asking in that video. The description said it was using a MacBook so it was obvious, I think, but of course even if the girls had asked, the guys aren't likely to say no, endlessly polite that they are, and they were spotted in the glass elevator before they even got there.

I think it's been two weeks of their three week break. I was assuming Dan would go on holiday with the Lesters again, then they've got Playlist, maybe after that they'll be back home.

exactly. i mean, i don't want to condemn anyone or say they don't care about d&p, bc obviously that excitement is real, plus i was a terrible child and would absolutely have done this sort of thing when i was their age (or at least seriously considered it). but the way it's all planned out and almost scripted must detract from it, right? does the stress of getting that perfect photo make it less fun? i'd be interested to hear from people who have met them both ways about whether it's different or not.

i also 100% believe dan would like the robot clone idea, if only to get out of certain social situations plus it would make travel easier: send the deppy-bots out first, sneak around them, and go ahead with travel plans without any delays.

I assumed he'd be back on the 25th which would be 3 weeks since the last ls, although I'm half expecting him to cancel because of jetlag/getting a cold from someone sneezing on the plane etc. Maybe he'll prove me wrong and we'll get a ls...from a new location perhaps?!

Welcome!! I wouldn't feel bad about it, I don't have a specific phandom twitter or tumblr either. I just have one massive all-encompassing one for every interest. Succeeds in boring/annoying basically everyone that follows me, works out great.

And I wouldn't worry I think there's a lot of people who come on here that aren't really active in any other area of the phandom.
I can only speak for myself but I don't even follow D&P on twitter never-mind have a twitter dedicated to them. And I don't have an active tumblr so don't post about them on there either but I do follow a handful of D&P blogs (and D&P themselves) on there.
The only place I actively take part in the phandom is here.

Also doing that survey made me realise the only DINOF video I really enjoyed in the last year (that was just Dan) was his anime spon. I tend to think I like DINOF more the AP but looking at that I realised I've liked a lot more AP videos in the last years than DINOF.
But then again on the other side of that there are some Phil videos I really don't like whereas I don't really feel anything stronger than indifference for most of what DINOFS produced in the last year.

In other news, I'm weirdly bothered by this odd sense of uncertainty we have going on right now? Maybe uncertainty's the wrong word, but it's just this general thing where we don't really know where they are, what they're doing, whether they've moved, what's going on?! I'm incredibly impressed that no one has managed to catch them at an airport, but in equal measure, the devil on my shoulder wants to know if they're home or already headed to Florida? I'm assuming they're in London, because we should be getting a live show this week. But then, if we're getting a live show, will it be from the flat? Will they have moved? So many questions that I feel I'm setting myself up for disappointment.

right there with you Rizzo. I mean, I KNOW it hasn't been that long, and it's no big deal, and they haven't fallen off the edge of earth . . . speaking of which, why no Earth Day tweet from SciencePhil?

For me, I think it's just the anticipation/excitement that they may be moving (into a house they buy together ) and that I'm not particularly patient . . . (goes back to watching old videos/keeping dreams alive).

Although I should probably be preparing myself that it may be all ado about nothing and that the next ls will be back in their flat. But this girls gonna dream a little longer.

I kinda hope Dan pulls the 'im using my phone to do the liveshow because my computer doesn't work' card again. The whole speculation about them moving has really cheered me up during an incredibly stressful period of my life and selfishly I want it to continue just to distract me from real life! Watching them try and hide things and only use certain angles has provided me with so much entertainment I don't want it to come to an end.

I'm just excited to have a somewhat regular posting schedule for these few weeks! I have gotten so accustomed to new Dan and Phil every Tuesday/Thursday that even if I get more content when they return home I'm going get to be in a state of constant anxiety over when we may get a new video. Still hoping for a DITL tomorrow. Wondering if they will do a joint ls Tuesday like they did after Japan. They didn't do a joint one after Oz/Hong Kong tho. Also still waiting on the my horse prince finale. I do think they're moving but not sure of the timing. Hopefully before it gets too hot bc maybe new place has air con? But could be as late as July when lease is up. Also about things missing from the counters and bedside tables/ walls - could be bc the apt is being shown to potential renters.

Ditto on not having a space dedicated to them. I'm consciously not making a sideblog on Tumblr because I feel I would drive myself crazy setting it up and maintaining it just the way I want. I get a bit OCD with the flow of the queue on my HP blog. Plus it would be me admitting what I am. But that's why I joined here and I really like the forum set up!

I took the survey as well and the only question I couldn't answer quite honestly was about the books, as they are at the top of my wishlist and I will hopefully be getting one for Mother's Day and if not I'll get both for my son's birthday it July. It's not that I can't afford them and won't get them, I just can't budget them yet... So not so distant future me owns them

I am curious as to what people's favorite AP and DINOF videos are. I've watched tons of videos of them together, but less of their individual videos. I'm still doing lots of catch up and would love recommendations! Or if there is a thread with this already please point me in that direction. Thanks!
