Answering the questions on the videos was so difficult! Especially the gaming videos, I spent ages scrolling through the list until I decided on the final undertale installment (I really want them to do a series again, despite knowing they probably won't, I just love getting attatched to the characters in a story like with undertale)

I'm loving this tuesday/thursday schedule - I hope they'll maintain it when they come back because it's oddly reassuring knowing there's going to be a video going up (especially with exams looming closer for me!).

Hoping you get more than the 30,000 in 2015! It would be really cool to see the increase in numbers :)

Two things missing from the survey for me:

What I want most from DAPG is more coop gaming videos, which sadly wasn't an option. I enjoy seeing them work together, and they do it well.

On encountering them "in the wild" - I haven't, but the only two options were "I'd approach them" or "I wouldn't approach them". My true answer would be either "I have no idea what I would do" as I can't imagine what bizarre universe that would ever happen in, or "it would very much depend on the circumstances" as other people have said in the recent discussion.

Otherwise great though, and I'm looking forward to seeing the results again. :thumb:

I am curious as to what people's favorite AP and DINOF videos are.
I like all of their videos. I guess some faves would be Dan's storytimes such as "the story of my hamster" and his Internet support groups and roast yourself challenge. For Phil I like his storytimes too like the eye doctor and the contact lens incident. Also his sleepless night series.

On DAPG I also want more coop games. That bomb one was so good!

oh yeah! I didn't think about that but agree completely -- although lbr isn't that what they end up doing even when it's a DvP?

Erm, well I'll answer what I put in the survey!

For Dan, I agree with many that his sweet spot is around 2013. My favorites include "Human Interaction", "What not to do on Public Transport", and "How NOT to stay Cool". As a general rule, as well, anything with Becky & Jessica. Also, his collabs with Tyler are some of the funniest things ever: "Dan and Tyler being Offensive" and "Dan and Tyler play Never have I Ever". (And there are two more on Tyler's channel.) From last year, I picked the Diss Track.

For Phil, basically anything pre-Dan . Actually, I like his stuff up through mid-2010 or so ("Check yes Juliet"). To be less flip, I love the weird and goofy early Phil, and I find modern Phil kinda boring, if nice enough. I still don't understand why he went the angel-bean route. So, favorite Phil videos include "A Static Lullaby-Toxic", "The Basket", "Lonely Day", and "Re: Keep on Dancing to Spoon".

Survey was great! I do wish there was a bit more questions concerning age. There's such a massive correlation between age and being active in the "phandom". This is literally the only place I'm comfortable discussing them. I occasionally look at some of the fan Instagram accounts and it makes me feel incredible old (lol I'm 24).

I'm so glad I found this place and all of you lovely people! I may not post much, but I lurk every day.

Jumping on the bandwagon and saying a bit amount me
I'm a 24 year old recent college grad. I got my bachelors in I/O Psychology and I'm planning on going back for my masters next year. Currently working at a soul sucking office job that I hate. I live with my boyfriend of 10 years with our dog, cat, and rabbit.

I think the relationship aspect of deppy has always fascinated me, not only from a psychological perspective, but as someone who had a teenage relationship turn into a real adult one (complete with a house in the suburbs). Marriage is not on the table anytime soon and I honestly don't know if it ever will. Not our deal :D

I wanna second this. I'm not really into Tyler's individual content at all, but his collabs with Dan had me in tears although can the whisk joke die already please.

Thanks guys! I've seen many of the ones suggested but there are quite a few I haven't, so I'll get right on that tomorrow. I love early Phil videos! Especially the creative ones you listed. A week ago I started a marathon of their videos from the beginning. A few of them have a slightly Doctor Who like vibe, like the trippier episodes. Phil's northern accent in them might be a contributing facor. I think Phil would be an amazing film writer and director.

Oh the other answer I had to fudge was re attending TATINOF as my real answer is that I didn't know about it! And yes I've seen all the collabs with Tyler, love them! If there was ever another YouTuber I'd start watching it would be Tyler.

This. It makes me upset to see that he isn't using his creativity to full potential nowadays. :(
If/when he begins to kind of drift away from Youtube I really hope he goes onto something else film related. I'd sell my soul to see something directed by him, no questions asked

I would LOVE to see something like this. Phil's older videos are so creative and weird(in the best way) and I never get tired of them.

I have nothing else to contribute but I wanted to say: hannah your icon is wonderful and I love it so much omg.

Click this link to read about, fill in, and share the 2017 Phandom Survey!

The survey has reached more than 2500 responses in less than two hours, and the number to beat is the 30000 - yeah, thirty thousand - responses from the 2015 survey.

The 2017 Phandom Survey. Data entry, but cooler.
Sorry, this doesn't really relate to this year's survey, but I checked the 2015 survey, and I found two of the results pretty shocking.

First, the results about gender identity really shocked me. Only 3.5% of people identified as male. If that wasn't shocking enough, about 5% of people identified as non-binary and 6% of people were unsure/questioning. So you are more likely to find a non-binary Phandom member than a male Phandom member.

Second, I found the results about sexuality really interesting. Only 42% of people identified as straight, less than half! Even stranger, I saw only 4.5% of people identified as gay. And bisexuality and pansexuality were the two most common sexualities after straight. I don't know, I just feel like I see more people just identifying as gay or straight.

These results are getting me so hyped for the results of the current one!

I have nothing to add save my internal 'YAS' and also this fic by blueberryphancakes for anyone who hasn't read it: Things We Left Behind

Also, I resent this pins and needles feeling I'm burdened with re: Deppy moving. Where in the World are Dan and Phil, tbh. Very much looking forward to a live show. I've missed them!

I like that they're quietly somewhere, hopefully having a chill time. I wonder when they're gonna drop the hour-long horse prince video on us, whether it's one they pre-filmed or if they'll wait until they're around to respond to the reaction, it might be a bit nuts.

Was just re-watching Dan's last ls while eating my breakfast and he said he'd be back home for 2 weeks between Australia and Florida which could mean either Phil goes on his own to the Lester family holiday before Playlist or perhaps they'll both stay on afterwards.

(it might be though that male fandom members are also less likely to take the survey in the first place. maybe it'd also be interesting to add a "how did you find out about this survey?" for the next time?)

i'm really hoping that the outturn is a high number and the survey gets passed around broadly. the questions were interesting and i'm looking forward to seing the results. thank you to everyone who helped organize it!
thank's you were great

I think there are more male casual viewers than the survey would suggest, even beauty channels get more male viewers than that.
But to get them to participate in the survey you would have to appeal to them directly on youtube somehow.
Btw i don't think you can link directly in the comments section of d&p videos.

Maybe asking fan channels to do a PSA about the survey would be helpful.

Mmm, Dan also said they were going to Hong Kong not Singapore. #danandphilLIES

(Really, I think they do purposefully mislead about holidays and travel times, to attempt to at least get somewhere without fans noticing and planning spontaneous meet and greets around their known whereabouts.)

Yeah very true and I don't blame them for doing so, even more so after that huge fan ambush in ?Melbourne airport! I reckon they're home now recovering from their jetlag surrounded by moving boxes and I'm not very optimistic for a ls tomorrow...maybe a joint one on Thursday where they announce that they're moving?!

You know what's interesting about this to me? Dan didn't really seem like he was lying. Like, he might very well be an excellent liar at this point (or I'm becoming terrible at reading them). After all, we're all well aware of the sheer volume of BS we've gotten from those two, but it's also perfectly possible that he was expecting Hong Kong at the time? Which leads me to believe their tickets and plans were made last minute around this trip. Which then leads me to believe they paid exorbitant amounts of money for this trip and in conclusion... I'm just jealous. All the time. All the time.

Anyway. Does anyone happen to have a link to the clip where he mentions Hong Kong? iirc, he was only a little bit shifty and now I want to rewatch and am too lazy to find it myself.

I'd imagine that the event sponsor paid for their travel arrangements. Maybe the event was using Singapore Airlines vs. Cathay Pacific (which I think they flew last time they went to Australia, and has a hub in Hong Kong.) Airline hubs systems make it easy / economical to plan extended lay-overs, so perhaps they took advantage of this to plan a bit of vaca.
