That was such a cute liveshow!!!!! Phil seemed more open and happy and Dan in the beginning seemed annoyed but got more giggly throughout. Also the image of Phil, a 30 year old man, hiding behind curtains to try and scare Dan is so freaking cute!!!!!!!

I think that what people should have in mind when speaking about how watching this liveshow and Dan's attitudes being frustrating that it's frustrating for us and not Phil. The viewer may find it unpleasant (which I feel like is totally resonable) because they wouldn't like to be interrupted or spoken to in this way or because they feel like it reduces the viewing experience, but Phil looks completely comfortable with the situation and even joked about it by telling Dan to read the good comments. It's the way they interact they clearly know each other well enough to know what the other would find good or bad. Again, this doesn't take back the fact that people may find it annoying and unpleasant to watch, and I totally relate to that. But our reaction to it does not translate to Phil's reaction.

totally agree with you though! to me they seemed actually very relaxed and natural with each other. i love when they're not treating each other (and the fandom) like the other (or we) would break if they jokingly are rude to each other.

That ls came early and surprised me and I seem to have missed the very beginning. I also got a bit annoyed by Dan early on (not just the interrupting, but the faces he pulls. I often get an on edge/overly denfesive/sarcastic vibe from him during joint ls. I know that part of it is his humor, but part of it seems like a defense mechanism for the phan thing and that just makes my heart ache) but it got much better.

I liked Phil's tourist "my country's customs" comment, I thought it was cute. I like the corgi and pigeon on the merch though the color design doesn't do much for me. They really downplayed their Scotland engagement and made it sound serious and boring, probably because it's sold out. Phil's Scottish accent was not terrible.

The guessing game was great! Dan seemed genuinely surprised that Phil was going off to do it right now as opposed to making it an AP video. (Chapstick challenge, lol. I read a great fic about that.) Recognizing the feel of the microwave popcorn box (I used to scrape the side of the bag with the drier kernels but never my fingers). That little prank and the talk of Phil's failed pranks

I enjoyed the A-levels stories, even if Dan never gave advice on telling your parents that you're dropping out. Starting university advice, joining a society isn't new from Phil, but LGBT club from Dan was a nice little addition, knowing their audience. Wasn't it a fan fiction/ski club cross over? Or did I mishear?

Dan making Phil tell the vase story properly. Phil calling out Dan with "what of that was even a sentence?" (I'm paraphrasing). The wipes melting the laptop webcam glass because of clean us daddy. Phil explaining his shirt, his intentions with Tumblr, all good stuff. Ooo and I'm getting alerts that he's reblogging fanart right now. Good boy.

They wash on the cold cycle and recycle and cook quinoa. Just domestic things

Little singing moments, even if they butchered "Always", I still teared up. Dan rocking from side to side at the end. And reaching under Phil's arms for the "prizes". Yeah, I'm pretty much content just watching them sit next to each other for an hour.

Looking forward to Dream Daddy tomorrow, DINOF whenever it's ready and maybe possibly livestreamed gaming next week (or January).

Awww that liveshow was lovely!!!! They were honestly BEYOND adorable and married!! And they are so fond of each other, and they have all this little inside jokes and fond memories, the little singing bit, and Phil trying to prank Dan in his own apartment AFTER EIGHT YEARS of living together wtf!! And the quinoa bit at the end... wow this liveshow ended me!

Phil said the lens wipes were on the table in the lounge (which is the one upstairs from the slounge and is next to dans ls area) because he "keeps forgetting to bring them upstairs". So what's upstairs from that lounge? Is that where the moon room is? And I'm guessing the kitchen is on the level of the lounge if there was a bottle opener and box of popcorn handy. In my head, this apartment is just a giant Escher painting.

I love how we learnt absolutely nothing from this live show about what Deppy have been doing lately, no announcement, no anything - if you don't count the merch sale, but I don't believe they'd do a joint ls just for that, and they've downplayed Edinburgh as much as humanly possible, and also, for everything that's been on the bingo card prepared, they've rushed through it fairly quickly, it was just pretty much domestic bants all the way, amazing. Honestly, I'm not even disappointed at this point, I'm continuously intrigued. And I loved the bants, obviously

Re: Dan being annoying, I don't really see how he was off or something, sirens-in-distance said it very well about Phil's perspective, but I find it especially fascinating how quickly Dan went with the guessing game when he obviously wasn't prepared, he didn't even put up a token protest. That's a great relationship for you!

Re: Phil's comment about respecting the country's traditions, the thing is that he only added "tourist" later, so at the beginning it sounded very much like some kind of anti-immigration rhetoric and Dan, judging by his facial expression, caught exactly that. Now, I don't think Phil meant it like that, that's just how it might've sounded to some people. Adding "tourist" made it better, though, I think, Phil realised what he said at this point and tried to "correct" it.

Interesting (maybe) how Dan didn't answer the question about telling your parents about dropping out. And I'm not gonna even try to analyse new data that we might've gotten on their flat (the room that's not "the room", what was that?), I think we should just give up and wait for that house tour when they move in two months.

The closest thing to what a Dan coming out vid would look like? (if he ever made one) i don't know just thought it was interesting - at least for me it is, cause i'm very much the other side and like 'Yay I found my label, love having a label'.

Anyway they talk about not really feeling comfortable with labels etc. (potentially okay with queer but even then nah, which makes me think of dan saying he liked the word queer in a telling sorta way in a LS) - but that they have a female partner, and have dated people of other genders too. Also interesting that they address fans discussing what their sexuality is in comments and stuff, and that it doesn't bother them cause they care so little.

I fucking loved this liveshow. This felt like the epitome of Dan and Phil, and yeah Dan is totally someone I'd want to pop in the mouth for talking over me if he were someone I was having a conversation with in real life but - I'm not. Phil is. And Phil can handle his own shit, he's an adult with automony who knows Dan way better than any of us do. He is not incapable of smacking Dan down when he feels like it. He just clearly doesn't feel like it, most of the time.

Just like Dan could tell Phil to cut out the stupid cheesy shit like silly games and pranks that don't work if he wanted to, but he doesn't - because the stupid cheesy shit is as much part of Phil (Phil Lester, the person, not the persona) as being slightly patronizing and loud is part of Dan (the person, not the persona). Watching how well they adapt to each other and work together and bounce off of each other with these personalities that seem in a lot of ways at odds with each other is literally what I'm here for.

I'm so glad they got most of the spon out of the way in the first five minutes. The muffin tweet explanation and the merch store spon were the things I was looking forward to least, and I'm pretty sure also the things Dan (and maybe Phil) were looking forward to least with how quickly they were done with. The rest of the time it was just - Dan and Phil talking shit with each other, half in that long term couple way - that again, if I were in person with them, would be annoying as fuck. But I'm removed from this situation, I'm a silent observer to the scene, so it doesn't bother me at all.

I actually planned on watching it (gasp shock I know) but was a bit upset about personal things so I chose a nap over Depz being cute instead but I just caught up a little. Yes to all of this. I know people were expecting some big announcement but I preferred this domestic liveshow over anything else they could have done. I'm glad they got all the predicted stories out of the way within the first 10 minutes because the rest of the show was just a small glimpse into their lives and how they interact. It was just so cute and definitely one that I can go back and re-watch. Also that quinoa moment at the end was something else...

i'd have to rewatch with specific attention to make sure this is an actual observation (lol), but I think Dan interrupts Phil because Phil doesn't actually stop talking or have long pauses when it's 'his' show (and have you noticed how it's always Dan joining a Phil show, rather then the other way around when they want to do a joint one?). Phil in turn seems to do this because Dan prefers someone taking the lead, he seems quite relaxed in joint liveshows whereas his own are a whole 'thing' (that he enjoys and finds catharsis in moreso than not, but something that takes up a lot of his nervous energy and concentration nonetheless).

Everyone's already covered the best moments in their posts but I'll add that the whole muffinINside tweet and then live interaction was interesting. it's such a clear innuendo that i assumed would make Phil nervous (he's told Dan 'stop' quite firmly when Dan rolls back on a bed and hold his legs up, which has happened at least twice i can think of, and at least one other verbal insinuation in a gaming video), and yet he joined in on the joke this time and didn't try to cut short dan's retelling. also bringing it up again at 22.20 ('because of the shame?').

i lol'd at Dan struggling SO hard to keep his face from contorting in delight and embarrassment at 22.35, when he reads from the chat mockingly for Phil to bite his lip again and Phil does an ironically unsexy face. oh, Dan. so transparent.

the mysteries for me were who Dan took the walk with (my soppy heart wants to believe Wirrow, but i don't think he'd call his friend a senpai); and who Phil's new york friend was (we can make guesses from past anecdotes). moreso the first, though - again we're reminded Phil has maintained many friendships over many years and great distances, but someone asking to see Dan, alone, (or maybe Dan agreeing, is the point) is a complete rarity. him acknowledging this rarity post-actually saying the dreaded SA term out loud (social anxiety) and not just printed in their book a few weeks ago makes the 'joke' take on a new tone, though probs not for those paying minimal attention.

You're right and this is why I live for joint liveshows. It was great. Silly affectionate and relaxing and I loved it.

Dan seemed just fine to me, but sometimes I read him differently than other people watching as well, so who knows. I think sometimes we feel weird about Dan having trouble settling down because he's usually more polished on camera, but that unsettled/pushy/weird thing is just maybe a more unfiltered Dan moment. Like, I think he sometimes gets a little extra or keyed up when he's nervous, because I've seen it a couple of times in live shows and often he relaxes as the show progresses. It has to be nerve racking to be live in front of that many people and I'm sure they were also hungry today ...

the EXACT same discussions used to happen every week during and after the live radioshow streams years ago. 'he was pacing a lot', 'it's so fucking annoying how fast he talks and PACES around the studio...', 'why does he rock side to side when Phil is on the mic, it's rude to Phil/distracts me?' etc etc.

I still forget there was a time when fans got Dan and Phil interacting in a live setting weekly. I do think that more recent fans, or even fans that aren't recent but just don't remember the radio show era as well, put way more pressure on Dan and Phil and scrutinize their behavior in these joint liveshows because they are so rare.

I wonder if people will get a different read on gaming livestreams, because Dan and Phil will have a focus and something to do with their hands? Or if it'll be worse because it'll be unedited, unfiltered gaming Dan layered with liveshow nerves.
