Dan & Phil Part 53: another two months

Ok but really, as youtubers they should have the fastest broadband they can! The fact they didn't before is a bit insane.
Also golf with friends was really good, so many funny one liners and what's up with the japped thing they keep saying? Ether way I loved it none the less.

Why is Phil's perspective being recorded on his shitty Macbook with 10 fps when they have a perfectly fine gaming computer right at the desk? If the gaming stream hadn't been after the recording of this I'd say it's cause they already moved the desktop computer
I mean the banter is on point but the quality is kinda meh.

last time they recorded golf with friends, dan was looking on a separate monitor and phil was on their main desktop.... so what happened to that set-up?(it was in their old flat) either they're slowing packing up what they can from each room, but then still making and putting out content. (which then means they have to compensate for the stuff they packed away.)

I still don't understand why they won't buy a signal extender for the gaming room. or at least put the router in the gaming room?? that is where the wifi would be most important right?.

also, wouldn't phils computer have a harder time picking up the signal, his MacBook isn't that new anymore

I would be disappointed with the liveshow cancellation if we didn't get a golf video. To be honest, I'd take a golf with friends video over a liveshow any day. Anyways, I loved it! Not my favorite in the golf series but still one of my favorite gaming videos in a while. Tons of good bants and innuendos to take completely out of context. Also, the internet debacle recently has also also gotten me back on the moving theory train 100%!

phil was in a mood with this, especially in the first bit. he was fun too watch, because it's still a bit more rare to see him venturing out of his persona. and in the end a bit of rage!phil appeared, which also is a nice addition to amazingphil.

the golf videos are just an incredibly calm and cozy series. they just play and bant and yeah, obviously they're creating content and focus on being entertaining, but it's in a much slower and more relaxed way than their other gaming videos. that's why i enjoy them so much. they're just wonderfully calming.

also: it's bad timing to have a dickscourse before a golf video. too many innuendos that you notice way too much.

This video was so good ! They were so laidback, I guess that's why I like the golf videos; we get soft voices and cute banter (also oh my god they do sing everything all the time haha). The whole video was basically sweet moments, will definitely rewatch. I love how they switch between being competitive and supportive in seconds it's fascinating to watch. Phil was robbed tho.

On moving : I don't buy Dan's excuse.. Like ok maybe you're getting new internet but what's stopping him from livestreaming from his phone like he's done already ? Plus yeah, their whole schedule and behaviour the past week has been way too sketchy, with prefilming a lot and only showing us the gaming room...

You know, thinking about it.. I mean, would we REALLY notice if they moved? I mean, sure, maybe the one that sherlock everything they post would totally notice, but casual viewers wouldn't if they kept their sets the same - so the gaming video, the AmazingPhil room and Dan's background can be recreated whenever.

Dan hasn't done a liveshow in his usual spot in 20 days - and before that we had the weird Moon Room one. Phil's last liveshow - the joint one - was in the lounge, and they show literally nothing so everything could've been already packed up - also, why was the painting propped on the floor and not up on the wall, did we discuss that??

They could totally haru the move if they were careful tbh

Legitimate question: How does internet get progressively worse?

I understand a situation where you've had the same internet provider for years and then they start restricting speed for more money. (IDK how legal/illegal/relevant that is right now in England, I'm just putting it on the table.) But assuming, given their recent move, they'd have gotten a new provider, right? Since that was their initial complaint.

So how could a new provider go from being able to support weekly live-shows to just.... not? It seems shady. So, as always:

No doubt in my mind Dan just didn't feel like doing it and used the internet as an excuse.

But another reason why they don't get faster internet could be that there's a period when you can change your plan. Like I could switch my internet plan 3 months before the contract renews at the earliest.

Probably not, Macbooks have been on the vanguard of the wifi standards for a while now. The problem is that they have a slow connection, it's a 2.4GHz - a frequency used by a lot of appliances and communication devices and the weird shape of the apartment means the walls are blocking the signal.

I have revision I should be doing but this seems more interesting right now.

From my perspective as someone who was out of the Phandom for the entirety of 2016 and then came back looking to catch up after Dan killed off Danis No Ton Fire. The 'big indicators' are:

- moving together for a 3rd time - as two millionaires who *at the time* were 30 and 25 - you can afford to not live together. Moving again shows a level of commitment, if they were gonna move apart moving out of their old apartment was the perfect time, especially because there were so many hints. It would have been more sense to be building to a 'Phan isn't real, we're going our separate ways guys, these are our partners' than a 'were moving to our non forever home', indicating a fourth move.
- forever home and a future dog - these boys are more committed than my parents at this point tbh
- BONCAS incident - like Phil thanked Dan and brought him up on stage in a way that indicates their relationship is more than just two p l a t o n i c bros doing p l a t o n i c bro things.
- Roast Yourself - Dan acknowledged his sexuality in a way that IIRC he has never done before - its no longer debatable that Dan is heterosexual, I think he's made it fairly clear he isn't and this is one of the most explicit examples
- Tinder videos - Phil's because it was something in the past - Dan because he firstly didnt just do women, never made it weird that it wasn't only women (i.e NO HOMO), and he admitted to never having used Tinder before. And there were absolutely zero forever alone jokes from them. What a better time to make one than in a #spon for a dating app.
- Phil's room - Phil is a man of simpler tastes than Dan, Phil likes nice things but he isn't as materialistic than Dan (not a bad thing either way) but I have a hard time believing Philip '6"2' Lester sleeps in that room, and so do a lot of people.
- Tour Bus Room - Do we really think Daniel "6'3" Howell (google tells me he's 6"4 though) slept in a bunk? Really? For months? Especially because the sign on the door clearly said 'Dan and Phil'.
- Moon Room - apart from being GORGEOUS, this room was supposed to never be on the internet. It is much bigger than Phil's room, and it contained things that are questionable in who they belong to. Furthermore, if you watch Dans eyes during it, I do believe Phil was sat on the floor and Dan was looking for his permission in what to show. I don't think that we only saw approximately half of it was any coincidence. He wouldn't have just shown it - if Phil was editing/test streaming, doing a live show is also part of Dans job and that should have taken precedence over whatever Phil was doing.
and finally
- THAT video - not that video, I mean THAT video - that hot sexual mess of a baking video - and their attitude that has come after it. It is genuinely different, before they announced DAPG I remember everyone on tumblr being like 'HOLY SHIT ITS GONNA BE A COMING OUT VIDEO!!111!!1!!!!1!11111!', if that video had dropped in 2014 I swear to god the internet would have exploded. If some of the videos they are making now had happened then, the reaction would be the same. But there is an attitude shift and its not just confirmation bias either, its obvious to someone who was away for so long, it felt like coming home but the same way that it felt when I came home for christmas after leaving for uni and my parents had redecorated my room. It is the same, but its also different.

I do genuinely think they drop hints though - like they have admitted to it in the past. I think they've been dropping hints and people are picking up on them and that is why there is a noticeable attitude shift. I think its more believable now because D&P are consciously making it more believable to us.

Wouldn't be surprised if they did a coming out video, whereas before it would've been A Big Deal™, now it would just me being like 'fucking OBVIOUSLY'. And I think thats why its been mostly accepted now, before it felt like tinhatting and speculation on tiny details. Now it feels like its deliberate subtext. And because they are part of the entertainment industry, I can't help but think this feels like we're living in a period of foreshadowing.

Something I noticed during the second rewatch: Is that a mole on Dan's forehead right at his hairline edge? (or it might just be his hair sticking out weirdly from under the cut idk).

Also, this got me thinking that his hairline might be receeding. It might just be the hat pulling all his hair backwards plus him having his sides shaved really short, but his hair does look thinner at the hairline sides than it did a while ago, at least imo.

Something I noticed during the second rewatch: Is that a mole on Dan's forehead right at his hairline edge? (or it might just be his hair sticking out weirdly from under the cut idk).

Also, this got me thinking that his hairline might be receeding. It might just be the hat pulling all his hair backwards plus him having his sides shaved really short, but his hair does look thinner at the hairline sides than it did a while ago, at least imo.

His hairline might be receding but I think his main hair related problem lies with how he treats it. Curly hair needs a lot of moisture and after years of heat damage it looks like a dry, frizzy mess close up - whereas it could be sooo much nicer if he just added a little oil wash-out treatment

Then again, he doesn't moisturise his face either so no surprises.

I am not completely on the moving train. I think that they will move soon, just not quite yet. Although the internet is very suspish.
I don't think that deppy will ever make a coming out video. I think they will just move to a house together and get a dog. I do personally think dip and dot are more suited for cats because they always talk about how they never leave their house. That also might just be the cat lady in me talking. I think that the most they might do is mention it in a live show. I really don't think that they aren't together. I feel like it would be so easy to deny. If they ever got annoyed with the shipping they could just say we are just friends. But they haven't really done that. If they have can someone tell me?

Also good personal news. The hospital my doctors want me to go to has accepted me. Now we just need to work out insurance. I know nobody cares but I really wanted to share that, because I'm really excited to get better.

Something seems to be up. I have been skeptic about the moving theories (just as last time) because I didn't think they would move again so soon but the shitty/non-existent Internet and some other stuff you guys pointed out really do make me wonder. Then again there are lots of explanations apart from moving that would make sense. It's just that it's never one single thing that starts these theories and the more things point to a move, the more likely it is. Maybe we'll find out in two months (or would that be a month now?).
But just in case they do move and choose to haru it, I think some of you sherlocks or maybe even non-casuals in general would figure it out. They didn't show a lot but they've shown enough to notice a move. Especially the curved wall is quite unique. Unless the new home is the one with the curved wall and they have been showing photos of two different flats the whole time... Yeah, I don't think so but you never know with them. And since a lot of you predict things accurately, I am very intrigued.

Btw, I love how the only custom emoticon so far is the one. Priorities! I also love the galaxy theme, I used the AP theme before. Just generally kudos to everyone involved in relocating and setting everything up :imagine thumps up emoticon:

As someone who has a very similar hair type to Dan (after 'wtf even is your sexuality' the second most relatable line of his diss track was 'when wet you look like a poodle') and also straightened it to death from 2008-2015/16 - lets skip over how my hair is also bleached though - and has stopped and embraced the curl. Danny needs to go to Lush and invest in R&B. 10/10 will recommend to everyone with curly hair.(And American Cream conditioner and Curly Wurly shampoo but neither of those are vegan-friendly) His hair would be beautiful with just a little extra moisture in it.

No shame to Dan, I love his hair, but curly hair needs a little extra love.

I was disappointed about the liveshow too, but didn't want to moan too much. It is a bit strange to suddenly not have enough wifi after it was okay before the gaming stream. What you doing, boys? I'm starting to believe the potential of the moving theory.

This was a very good video, though. They were so quick with all their jokes, singing so much (omg Karma Chameleon, yes, Phil) and looking so cute in their silly golf hats. Phil's eyes picked up the colour of his shirt again, that's always pretty. Dan trying to put him off by sneezing, wow, does that brat want to get smacked? Phil did it back, though, they're both obnoxious either winning or losing really so wcyd. I loved Phil at the end, sitting up taller with that mature I'll-pretend-I'm-okay-with-losing expression. I guess it's too much hassle to unplug Dan's PC and take it into that room, Phil's MacBook is a bit old and they're not all that good for games, but it sounded more like the game itself is a big ropey. Probably both. I hope they enjoy making these as much as they seem to, and as much as we like watching them, because when they're like this, they're really onto something.

That trinity/Tyler collab was wonderful, I love Mamrie and her accent is divine. That story was funny, 2013 Deppy meeting her for the first time and that's what happens, that's cute. I sub to the girls so it's funny when they all collab with someone cos they all upload at the same time, and it's like "Bam! Have some videos".

Ok, that was super fun and cute video, all is forgiven now. Golf with friends is my favourite gaming series from them, so it was perfect video to replace the live show.

Idk about moving. I mean, maybe they are? They haven't bought side tables to the gaming room and considering they are pretty damn wealthy and live in a apartment that is pretty fancy, I find it slightly weird they didn't replace all of their furniture. I mean, I definitely wouldn't keep a broken couch if I was in their shoes, unless I knew I'd be moving again soon and would be fully redecorating then.

But why give a tour to the gaming room and have a different room few weeks later? And Dan saying they're actually doing something about the internet, that too sounds like no move is going to happen soon. I think it's more likely that they're working on some project atm that probably consumes most of their days and Dan cancels live shows because he's tired. I'm just not buying it that someone asking him for a walk or their internet is suddenly so bad that he can't stream are actual legit reasons why he is cancelling. The gaming stream was laggy, but they streamed high quality picture while playing online, that definitely is not at all the same level as just regular live show which haven't really been laggy at all imo.
