Inundating someone with a question or questions that they didn't answer or ignored in the past shouldn't continually be asked.
Just being a fan & watching the same questions being asked all the time is really annoying so I can only imagine how annoying it is for them. Dan makes lists & writes out bullet points to cover in his LSs so since he hasn't brought it (that week in March) up himself, it's obvious that he doesn't want to talk about it, at least not yet (if ever). He's not one to forget especially because the phans wouldn't ever let him forget.

I sometimes can't believe how pushy people are about wanting more from Dan & Phil. They have given us so much already; merch, a tour, books, almost weekly live streams, individual channel videos, gaming videos & recently live gaming streams but that's just not enough for some people so I wonder where exactly is that line? When is enough enough? When will people realize that we get so much more from them than most get from others? I adore Dan and Phil, I respect them & their privacy, I respect them enough to know that they share what they are comfortable sharing & I also know not to hang on every single thing they say, not because they are being shady but because they have a right to change their minds about things.

I take everything they say with a grain of salt. They have to keep people interested, so in a way, they lead people on with comments & actions - we always want more. They act domestic just enough, they tease/bant just to that point of "no they didn't", " that was so cute", "what!?!" because it keeps people coming back & wanting to see a little more or to see how far they'll take it the next time. They are smart guys that give just enough & we should be happy with that.
I'm not aiming this at anyone & this isn't meant to be nasty, it's just a rant.
I'm not saying you're wrong, because the phandom does often blow things out of proportion, but in this case I feel like Dan's was/is ready for people to ask. It's not a throwaway comment, he specifically said to ask him in five months, and then in two more months. It's no wonder that people do ask him about it now.

Ive looked through everyones comments and i don't think anyone has brought up that the whole 'week in march' thing could potentially be the video he's been meaning to make for a while? Someone pointed out that it seemed more of a personal thing rather than a career thing, but could the next video potentially be a story time a la 'i nearly blinded myself'?
I find a pattern sometimes of dan not wanting to talk about something if he is thinking of making a video about it? Also the fact he said he may go back to Younow next week.. (where you cant blacklist phrases?)
I dunno...just throwing a little prediction out there :)

I mentioned it, though it was at the very bottom of a page so I guess you overlooked it. He has previously talked about going back to YouNow, so I am not sure if you can argue with that promise.
Tbh, they might as well be off to Japan right now to enjoy the Sakura time. What do we know...

Regarding LS length, I believe it is what they also mentioned in their last gaming livestream: They want the recording to be attractive to watch for people who didn't see it live, which is why they try to keep it around 30 minutes (does someone remember which gaming LS that was and can timestamp?). Maybe their YT Analytics revealed a drop in viewership after around 30 minutes (it counts as a view regardless of if people watch the whole thing, so it's nothing we can investigate, sadly - love me some analytics).

I think this. I was talking about it with somethingsketchy - I'm surprised he did a liveshow yesterday because I thought he'd replace it with a video. I think he's going to make a video about it (and tag it 'that week in march') and it'll be his next main channel video - and that will explain it but then he'll do a liveshow where he explains more in-depth.

I don't think he's going to ignore it, it'd make sense for it to be something he's planning as a video. I'm curious, I'd like it to be something to do with mental health, or phan, or moving - either of those would satisfy me

though I swear to god if its another internet support group :fu:

Dan's Reddit confirmed?
I actually found that account last week or something, but thought nothing of it for whatever reason. Maybe it is him?
Would dan really use his own username? I feel like he uses reddit a lot and he'd want it to be private... like, there were already people on that thread questioning if it was 'the' dan, but who knows, maybe he doesnt care
I think there's a pretty high chance that's "the" (lol) Dan's public Reddit account. The fact that it's 6 years old does it for me. What rando in 2011 was trolling around as Dan on Reddit? I'd imagine he created accounts to secure the 'dinof' username on as many large websites as he could think of as he started to gain a larger audience. I'd probably do the same.

Dunno how many IDB users are on Reddit... for the uninitiated, alts / "throwaway" accounts on Reddit are super common. Reddit doesn't require an email address to sign up, so you can pretty quickly create some junk throwaway acct and get to posting right away.

I've used Reddit since around the same time and have used countless throwaways for personal things I didn't want my name/main account attached to. I'd imagine for anything personal or incriminating, he'd use a throwaway account.
I've used reddit a lot - and I have my main account (which my girlfriend knows the username of) and then I've got an alt account which I use sometimes, and then I've made at least one throwaway for a post. Reddits great because its anonymous (unless you're like me and have downloaded RES so you can flair people - I've got the dinof account as '????' and the rice guy as 'better with rice' for example) but if you post you can start to daisy chain someones identity. I bet he took it so nobody else would post in it, e.g. say that wasn't Dan, but the account was a prolific poster in r/lgbt or heck, even r/the_Donald people would lose their shit. I bet he has a regular account that he uses with an anonymous username - you could still probably work out it was likely him by going through the post history - and the dinof one is something he probably logs into occasionally, like a reverse throwaway.

also, if that is Dan, i'm amused he was on Team Periwinkle

liveshow lenght: I think that yt streams are shorter mostly because his arms get tired of holding the phone, I remember him complaining about that? Plus they are probably more tiring anyway, since he's moving around a bit, vs. sitting in front of a computer and just talking.
I really like how he's saying he wants to find a balance between yt and younow streams, maybe he's slowly realizing the possibilities of clearly dividing his content and not trying to please everyone at once :D What about one "low quality" funny video and one deep and intellectual one per month next? Or something like that, if he ever even wants to go back to a loose posting schedule.
making questions up: Didn't we already agree that the "talk about X" questions aren't actually from the chat, but his notes? He seems to look to different direction when saying those (idk where his notes would be when he's streaming from phone tho).
I had more to say but I'm already 5 hours late from school and gotta do my makeup in the bus so talk to yall later :D

Looking at this picture, all I can think of is how good the floor matches to the centipede pic. At this point, I really feel like they exposed themselves via centipede. Iconic.

And I thought that their uncertainty about Halloween baking was really about deciding if they want us too their kitchen or not.

I was thinking this too. Maybe it could also be his mental health video? Like maybe that week in march was a really bad week for him mentally?

On that week in March being a new video: I very much hope it is, since I want an explanation for that after all these months of waiting. We've got several videos we've been waiting for though, since he hasn't done anything with the mental health video.

anime_is_not_cool I think he has his notes on a laptop in front of him, since he showed us his twitter in the last liveshow on his laptop and it was sitting right in front of him.

The only way a video about 'that week in March' actually does make sense to me is if it was moving related, the video next week is a 'we moved again!' video, and the livestream the next day is a joint one from the new place.

But I'm not holding my breath for that. I do still definitely think they'll be out of the place within a year from when they moved in but I burnt out on trying to guess when.

I don't have any especially interesting thoughts about the liveshow, so here's a list of some random irrelevant things that stood out to me.

- the story about the youtuber from dubai asking phil his whatsapp made me smile, I can picture phil being all awkward and trying to deflect any of the guy's attempts at getting his contact info. But what really surprised me is that phil doesn't have whatsapp? I don't know how it works in other countries, but where I live there's not a soul (at least under like 40, but actually even older) that doesn't have it. Maybe I have a distorted perception, but I swear I've never met anyone who doesn't use it.

- the fact that he didn't tweet was weird. At first I thought it was because maybe he was waiting until later when he finalised the thumbnail, but then he didn't tweet anyway. He did promote it on tumblr though, so unless he legitimately forgot, I don't know what to make of it or if it means anything at all.

- I already expressed my opinion on him doing a "viewers pick my outfits" video, so I won't repeat myself, but basically I hope he doesn't, for all the reasons aready discussed. From the way he talked about it, I think he might, but then again he's been saying he's gonna do a candle haul video for months and it still hasn't happened. So who knows.

- re: week in march. I'm in the category of people who just really don't care anymore (if I ever did at all). I understand that people are curious and I know dan kind of brought this upon himself by telling us to ask him again later, but I think whatever it is, it's not that big of a deal, and if he ever tells us, many will probably be disappointed and be like "that's it?".

- I'm so happy about halloween baking, but also when will they pander to us and give us christmas baking? I'd sacrifice the easter one for that any day (but I know it won't happen, because it's too close to halloween). I agree with who said they were stalling in giving us a certain answer because they weren't sure they wanted to show us the kitchen (unless they're planning on baking in phil's bedroom lol). I wonder though, if they had decided not to do it, would dan have not featured phil on his channel at all this year? That would've been a first, I think. Or would they have done some other kind of collab for dan's channel? I'm kind of curious about what other video they might have done together.:sideeye:

I would assume they have whatsapp. They've claimed not to have snapchat, but we know they (at least Phil) do: he was showing his phone with snapchat filters in a liveshow last year, and the icons on it made it obvious it was a live account in active use.

I expect Deppy keep their private communication channels very private, which is completely understandable.

Louise tweeted that the collab she is posting tonight is a Not Worth Watching with Zoella, which means the D&P collab probably won’t be until next week. She usually uploads main channel videos on Mondays or Wednesdays.

I think it's going to be awful, but at least that leaves room to be pleasantly surprised. I wish they had taken inspiration from the catrific collab and just filmed them meeting and playing with Louise's kittens. Or like, go on another group cat cafe outing. Cats. :happytears:

I’m cautiously optimistic about the collab. D&P usually have good chemistry with Louise, especially Dan, who seems to let loose a bit. I’m not sure if anyone else watches Louise but a while back she did a successful (take notes Dan) rebranding and basically said she was not a children’s entertainer and her content is for people her own age and she has aged up her content. I think with this collab, we will at least get Dan not talking at us from a corner like the last dinof videos have been, Phil interacting with people beside Dan (and D&P together) and about a topic that we would never see him choose on AP.

I’m really hopeful (hey, we all need hope, right?) that since it is on Louise’s channel and her demographics are older, we will get to see D&P acting their age (hopefully that makes sense), similar to how Dan’s collabs with Tyle and (I’m not very familiar with AP as I have mostly been a casual Dinof viewer until recently, but there must be someone who he has collared with that brought out a different side of him).

TL;DR I’m cautiously optimistic re the Louise collab because of the direction she has taken her channel in after the last time they collabed and because the topic will push them outside their comfort zones.

I see what you're saying and I hope all of that really does come together to make a fun enjoyable video, but what I'm more worried (or just meh) about is Louise being gross and normative and them just kind of going along with it to be polite. Like... I'm just thinking about the Carrie/Dan vid he unlisted and expecting that vibe from Louise while mainly Dan tries to jokingly 'correct' for it and I already feel awkward at the idea of watching it. Or it'll be totally fine! And the 'discourse' to follow it won't be horrible for everyone involved at all!

Oh god now I can really see her joking about 'future wives' :? I really hope not!

Also, I think someone might have mentioned it earlier, but could there possibly be a link between Louise delaying the video and Dan weirdly refusing to say they collabed/saying they hung out instead? Like maybe hes not happy with the editing or something?

I'll give her slightly more credit than that (making a wives comment lmao), I'm just thinking more general gender role and body ideas she'll perpetuate. And I think Dan was just being coy, not trying to say anything about the collab or when to expect it bc that's just how he rolls. Never commit to anything so nobody can be disappointed.

Edit: and she literally lost the footage of her collab with Phil last year (allegedly..), so it's probably safer not to say something is 100% coming when she still has time to drop the sd card in the toilet or something

rainydays wrote: Wed Oct 04, 2017 1:07 pm - the story about the youtuber from dubai asking phil his whatsapp made me smile, I can picture phil being all awkward and trying to deflect any of the guy's attempts at getting his contact info. But what really surprised me is that phil doesn't have whatsapp? I don't know how it works in other countries, but where I live there's not a soul (at least under like 40, but actually even older) that doesn't have it. Maybe I have a distorted perception, but I swear I've never met anyone who doesn't use it.
Funny, I've had the exact opposite experience. I don't think I've ever spoken to anyone who DOES use it lol
I relate to rainydays obvs bc everyone in Italy uses whatsapp and it's usually extremely used in Europe as the major texting app over texts. However I always thought the UK was a lot like the US and because of phone plans they mostly use iMessage. I wouldn't put it past them to actually not have a WA

Oh Dan and his instagram, he did post
Will probably never be over the BONCAS and the beauty of Phil Lester.

I will be disappointed if Phil didn't sneak in something about lambing or mpreg.

My intention isn’t to offend anyone here as I know people have different things that are more or less important to them, but kid she did say “future wives” or if she talks about her own experience and that involves some traditional gender roles, is it really the end of the world? Sometimes I think there is so much pressure to not say anything that could be deemed problematic that we miss out on hearing different perspectives (even if we disagree) and having valuable conversations come from these opportunities. Also, maybe Dan or Phil might have said one or both of them want a wife one day. How the hell do any of us know? Everything we talk about is speculation. It’s going to be a ten minute video probably and I have enjoyed all of their collabs in the past, so I have high hopes for this one too. I have had some issues with Louise recently, but I really admire her for taking the risk to age up her channel and not worry so much about offending and just trying be be more authentic. I actually liked Dan’s videos when he was more problematic, not because I always thought the jokes were funny, but because he seemed more open and authentic, rather than separating himself and his persona. Ok, end dissertation.
