It's also interesting that the sub count on youtube itself is always about 150 behind the one listed on socialblade.
But only 500 to go!

Do I suit this beanie?

8:45 "DanAndPhilGAMES is almost at 3M subscribers!" blooper video will be released to celebrate when it happens
11:35 "So tomorrow is hopefully, if that happened, when it could come out."
If that happened

english subtitles: the video is edited and queued after selecting the clips for the last two weeks, and my YouTube dinosaur senses tell me that algorithmically 3 mil is guaranteed on Friday, so I've set it to publish at 10 pm while me and Dan -- Dan and I -- are at the cinema watching Wind River
This. is. beautiful. Please can any mad scientists out there currently working on their pet translators divert their energies to a D&P translator? What if we could just know when Dan saying 'ask me again in two months' really means 'we will never speak of this again lol' or when Phil saying 'haha' really means 'I will burn you to the ground then salt the earth'. What a simpler world it would be.
Thanks and have a great day! Oil me

I really should learn more about how accurate socialblade is and how they get their numbers, since I look at it semi-frequently (although not usually the live count), but a basic search didn't give me much and I am too lazy to spend hours researching it (for now at least).

Seconding this. We already have a ship-appropriate emoticon too! :breakfast:

:newyear: Yay! 3 million!

(I was watching the live count for a bit (quite mesmerising) and I loved how at 2,999,995 it suddenly rocketed to 3,000,015 within a few seconds - all those people trying to be the one  )

I might have watched the live count for the last hour instead of doing work...
Honestly, I can't wait for the bloopers even if they are very carefully selected and edited. I don't care, I just love bloopers of any kind. But if we see a rare wild Dan or Phil moment in there I will be ecstatic.

Memo for Dan and Phil: always promise bloopers to get subscribers faster than usual.

How long would it take for Phil to surpass Dan If he promised the unedited footage of the first PINOF?
Will probably never be over the BONCAS and the beauty of Phil Lester.

I'm not sure which is more accurate and the difference isn't usually huge so I find myself looking at socialblade simply because I find the live count more exciting!

I think the biggest obstacle would be Dan, since he seems to hate footage of him at 18. Dan vs. the demon-phannies - I'd watch! Actually, the more I think about it, Phil is the more secretive one. I think the Tumblr servers would just be so overwhelmed that they explode.

Congrats on 3 million!
I hope people didn't actually make fake accounts to push it faster because youtube purges those from time to time.

That'd be awkward if they drop back under three mil in a day or two. I think that happened to Jimmy when he hit 100k, he dropped back under it and then hit it a second time.

The channel is updated now and has over 3 million! I'm so excited. Bring on the bloopers!

Yeah, bit worried about this myself. It seems dishonest (on the subscriber's part) as well, and maybe diminishes the accomplishment  Do subscriber numbers = better income/success in any way or is success measured in actual views?

Looking forward to whatever they've put together, I love candid dnp moments, even ones that aren't actually funny, just unscripted :)

Omg, fancybum, that last line about what "haha" from Phil might mean

Woo, 3 million! :sparkle: :cheer: :sparkle:

I'm so intrigued by the calendar. I'd seen new photos from Rose and Noodlerella, and I assumed this could be a collab with Linda Blacker too. They must be doing four photos each day so maybe they need a few hours to set up and take down sets, do makeup etc. I'm curious about the theme, but I often find the makeup overdone and harsh in her stuff, probably down to lighting and editing too, though I love the fantastical ideas.

His liveshow was lovely, his bounciness continues.

Trust there to be sparkly decorated cupcakes for the last day too :pancakes: (closest sugary emoji I can find).

If that happens they could make a second bloopers video to celebrate it. :P

I think the views are more important.
Subscribers are useful if they actually watch the videos. There are a lot of examples of channels that gained subscribers by holding giveaways but get only a small fraction of the views because those people weren't actually interested in their content.

Views are what counts the most for AdSense, which is why you can only monetize your videos after you get a certain number of views (10k) and not when you reach a certain number of subscribers. That said, logically the more subscribers you have the higher your views will be, but that doesn't account for sudden viral videos people might get. However, the algorith facts both things when it estimates the income of an ad on a video, so it's not always the same. But if you look at estimates on socialblade, for example, you see that while Dan and Phil have a 2M subscribers difference, their estimated incomes are pretty much the same because they have a close number of views and engagement.

(I work in web marketing and my daily job is to analyze stats for adwords/adsense so sorry for the boring reply  also i'm tired af excuse my very poor english atm)
