Sorry for the off topic.. I’m new to the phandom, but.... since people knew the address of their previous flat, have Dan and Phil ever been victims of stalking. Have they been chased by mad and annoying fans? If they’ve been, have they ever addressed the situation?

I'm not going to get really into it because I don't want to bring up old drama again but I know that someone this year found their old flat, went to it and rubbed a tampon on their door. Luckily this was after they moved but still very creepy. I don't think they have ever addressed people stalking them directly but it has happened other times as well just not to the same extent. It would be people who said they just happened to bump into them near their apartment. The closest either of them came to addressing it was when people were stalking and harassing Dan's brother online and Dan said to leave him alone.

i can't remember which one, but in one of phil's early liveshows the chat asks something like "what's the creepiest thing a fan's sent you" and he mentions getting a letter from a fan's husband saying something along the lines of "my wife is coming from america to marry you". around that point he also mentions the girls who would sit in their garden waiting for them to leave, and that at one point phil and/or dan had an actual stalker, but he didn't want to say any more about that because they could be watching. (the girls in their garden may be a different show, i seem to remember it all at once though.)

i tried to figure out which show it was, but oqua's masterpost in the liveshow rewatch thread has broken links i know it was in 2012 though

Yeah, sorry about the broken links! One of our goals in the new year is to do an exhaustive search through and figure out what all the hosting move a couple months ago broke and get things fixed.

I’m confused about why dan said phil doesn’t know any books. (1) I swear dan has previously called phil an “avid reader”; (2) phil has an English degree and presumably read a lot of classics to get it?
I know it’s not that deep but I just thought that was weird.

They really do have a mind meld though... I can’t believe how fast phil got some of Dan’s gestures. There’s NO WAY I would have got some of them.

I’m thinking Phil has specific genres he reads (horror) and doesn’t read what the general public does so wouldn’t know the answer to the questions. I can’t see Phil reading the classics just because they’re classics. However maybe Dan forgot that Phil read some for uni?

yeah, on the book thing: i heard "we don't know any fucking books, we're not doing that." i thought he was saying it about both of them, which could be explained in a bunch of different ways - off the top of my head: they don't read the same kinds of books, so guessing would be hard; they don't read a lot of classics, which is probably what ps would use in the books category; they don't read a lot of popular books, which again, is what ps might use

i think charades might be my favorite gamingmas vid so far - it's the only one (besides livestreams) that i've wanted to watch again right away

I doubt phil reads classics for fun either but I meant I think that’s usually part of an English degree (granted I don’t have one so who knows). But yeah all those explanations make sense!

I fall about in the middle of Dan and Phil age-wise and Agadoo was played at just about every kids disco I went to for probably my entire childhood so I was quite surprised Dan had never heard of it.
I'd think it was mybe just a Northern thing but I'm pretty sure they played it at every holiday kids club my parents put me in too.

I actually thought Dan was sarcastic? Like it's pretty known Phil likes to read and I would say he reads way more than Dan, and I'm sure they read different genres so I can see why they wouldn't go with it. Dan maybe wouldn't have known the books that would come up in the game - just like he didn't know the song
