oh shit, that's gorgeous. i'm not usually into wirrow's art style (like i can appreciate it, but it's not something that would work with the art i already own?). but this i would actually buy. the detail is a little different and intricate.
he often paints ambiguous pairings, no? but if i had to see dan and phil in it, i see phil's head filled with physics and mysteries and ideas and space, and dan's preoccupied with the organic things that are beautiful but are fleeting and will die (and then be born again). they overlap in the middle without completely merging which feels the most important part.
and that's my soppy overanalysis for the day.
edit: just realised this painting is a nice juxtaposition to the one by lily in my avatar.

ok very off topic, but! i was watching back d&p's livestreams, specifically the one where phil pranks dan by spraying his face, and when dan was asked who he went for a walk with around the 9:25 mark, he said "you don't know them" and quickly changed subject while you can hear phil say "you do" in a low voice... or that's at least what it sounded like???
i know this is pretty old to bring up since it was in august, but did he actually go on a walk with phil? he said in a tweet it was with "a senpai i wanted to spend time with"
and i recall dan calling phil his "YouTube senpai".... but when he was asked on twitter if it was phil he just said "hahahahahaha".
i know this was already talked about on here sry it is just still weird to me.

I really love this idea and have accepted it as my personal truth - though it looks like this piece was from July. STILL! I honestly can’t see it any other way now

Nah, rewatched it back a few times and I think Phil was starting to reply to the person who said “you make me happy”. Dan refers to quite a few idols as “senpai” and the making time to go out and be social with someone doesn’t fit Phil, who he can go on a walk with anytime.ratlad wrote: Sat Feb 03, 2018 4:37 am ok very off topic, but! i was watching back d&p's livestreams, specifically the one where phil pranks dan by spraying his face, and when dan was asked who he went for a walk with around the 9:25 mark, he said "you don't know them" and quickly changed subject while you can hear phil say "you do" in a low voice... or that's at least what it sounded like???

I love that Wirrow art, it reminded me of the plant and space boys too when I saw it a few months ago. Who is who personality wise is just as complicated as the whole who is the sun and the moon or night and day argument. They both have bits of both because they are complex humans, but it’s fun to think about.

Okay so I rewatched it because it got me curious. I really do not believe it was phil who was the person he went for a walk with. I believed him when he said it wasn’t him then and I still believe it now. Phil was definitely asking questions as if he wasn’t there. I personally don’t see the need to lie about something so mundane. But to me it did sound like phil mumbled “you do” after dan said you don’t know them but I don’t know if that is related to dans comment.? I don’t think it’s some big conspiracy where dan is trying to hide the fact that him and phil spent time togetherratlad wrote: Sat Feb 03, 2018 4:37 am ok very off topic, but! i was watching back d&p's livestreams, specifically the one where phil pranks dan by spraying his face, and when dan was asked who he went for a walk with around the 9:25 mark, he said "you don't know them" and quickly changed subject while you can hear phil say "you do" in a low voice... or that's at least what it sounded like???

hmm.. whatever the case was, I understand if he did make a little excuse and just didn't wanna ls. I'm glad they said they're only doing them now when they actually feel like it.Secretstanner wrote: Sat Feb 03, 2018 5:25 amOkay so I rewatched it because it got me curious. 1)It was with Wirrow. Apparently Wirrow talked about getting dan out of the house more-in past tweets-and he would definitely be considered "senpai" material
2)Dan just wanted to cancel his liveshow that was that day and needed an excuse
3)The least likely one; Dan was actually up North at the time. I think this came about because he previously tweeted about Northern people making fun of his accent. So some thought the walk was w/ a member of the Lester clan or an old friend from Manchester

I had my first full dan and phil dream. It was real feeling enough that I was surprised when I woke up and didnt see anything on Tumblr about it.
It was a video but D&P were on a stage and doing quick changes just like... To the side. Not actually off stage, just to the side. Dan looked like how one would expect him to look with no shirt, but when Phil took his shirt off, he was still super pale but also hella ripped. Abs, pecs, super defined V muscle. And the whole audience gasped. Nothing else happened in the dream but I'm gonna be thinking about it all day.

MythicalPinkTrashcan that sounds nice.
As promised a few (by which of course I mean over a dozen) Wirrow works that remind me of D&P. Not in a phan way per se, but of them individually, and their friendship with each other, but also with B&W.

That would be awesome! I’m really bummed the images aren’t showing up on mobile. I thought I was good at first with the multiple hides, but somehow in the last edit it all went wrong. Looks fine on desktop, but if no one minds, I’m just going to put the links

It’s a while since I’ve seen these, but a few of them reminded me of Deps the time too, especially the marriage-buddies.

Since the forum is kind of slow right now, here's a gaming video suggestion: I've been really into escape rooms lately (and deppy have mentioned they like them too), and I've been playing the online versions a lot. I would love to see deppy play online escape rooms on the gaming channel! I love videos where they have to solve puzzles, like 'keep talking and nobody explodes', and I think online escape rooms would be such fun videos to watch them play (both for the interaction between deppy, and for the actual gaming quality since the viewer could kinda play along as they watch). They could either play together, or do it as a dan vs phil to see who can escape the rooms the fastest.

Phil tweeted, so uh, there's something?
However, I really like that idea whatdoiknow! I think it would be entertaining, and somewhat of a nice balance between flash games and "actual" games.

This girl seems really nice about it (I checked her tumblr) and apologetic for disturbing them, so I have nothing against her personally, but it made me think how it must feel for them to be at a birthday dinner with friends and still have people come up to their table. I get it, that's the life they chose for themselves, they're sort of celebrities, yadda yadda. I'd still not approach them while they're literally sat there eating and chatting, which I assume is what happened. Coming up to them when they're leaving, I'd sort of get. But this? Not really.
On another note, I guess the Wirrony breakup really was a joke? which is awesome.
EDIT: I reread my own post and I'm thinking... I'm gonna be harsh. Apologetic or not, she still went and disturbed them at their table. Ugh, I'm conflicted. I don't want to hate on her, I get that it's a dream come true/once in a lifetime opportunity, but still. Wait until they're leaving??

Shame that “fan” had no respect for them whilst they were out with friends celebrating phils birthday. Makes me cringe whenever I see something like that, personally don’t agree with it. Why can’t people at least wait until after they’ve finished and are leaving if they’re so keen for a photo, why walk up to their table?
If she’s so apologetic now then why do it at all, and then to post it on social media saying how sorry you were. Just makes me think people really have no respect sometimes.
[edit] - just wanted to add, no matter how famous people are, there is always a line (for me anyway) which shouldn’t be crossed. If someone is out and about doing personal stuff such as out for dinner then I do think it’s wrong for anyone to walk up to them and ask for a photo, especially if they are with other people and especially if they are at a table/eating. No matter how nice Dan and Phil are I’m sure it must be pretty annoying for them. I hope Bryony gave some side eye after.

I don't really want to call the girl out because I have no doubt the phandom are coming for her and I don't really want a part in that but I have to agree going up to someone who is having dinner in a restaurant is never okay.
Also this isn't just about this girl because I've seen it a lot but I always find it funny when people think famous people offering to take a photo with them is them being super nice. No the reality is you coming up to them is awkward and they have nothing to really say to you so they offer you the photo they think you probably want to speed up the interaction. I know some famous people are weird about giving photos so I guess that's why people think it's nice but I think for the people who don't mind taking them with fans offering when approached when they don't ask is probably the most efficient way to deal with approaching fans.

This is one of those scenarios that I think is quite nuanced, and there is no objectively wrong or right behaviour in this instance. Personally, I probably wouldn't go up to them if I saw them out and about (in part because I would assume they wouldn't want to talk to me, but also because I know I'd be awkward), and I also get that a quiet birthday dinner is something that's quite personal.
But at the end of the day, it's hard to know what you'd do until the moment. The girl didn't have malicious intentions, she only saw two people she admired, got excited and wished to have an interaction with them that she probably never expected she'd have the opportunity to experience. Of course, they have no obligation to have an interaction of any kind with her, and she has no inherent right to go up to them, but I sympathise with her and her mindset in the moment. I also think she's probably not super involved in the phandom, given that she didn't know who Bryony and Wirrow were at the time, so maybe she just didn't think that deeply about it?
I don't know, I'm not necessarily excusing people who cross boundaries and interact with Dan and Phil when they're just trying to live their lives, but I also think it's not a black-and-white situation necessarily and I get why she went up to them, even if I probably wouldn't have done the same. I don't think she deserves to be publicly reprimanded for it, and I hope she doesn't feel too bad.

Actually, from what I'm seeing, the phandom is super supportive. The post is at over 1k notes and everyone is being positive and very nice. Some anon is even bashing Bryony in an ask sent to the girl.pearshaped34 wrote: Sun Feb 04, 2018 12:45 am I don't really want to call the girl out because I have no doubt the phandom are coming for her and I don't really want a part in that but I have to agree going up to someone who is having dinner in a restaurant is never okay.
I'm glad she isn't receiving hate for it, she doesn't deserve it, but I also think that being nice and apologetic doesn't excuse disturbing them at their table.
Good thing I'm not in state where my mood can be ruined anyway.
It seriously just annoys me how apologetic this girl is about the situation, because it clearly means that she knows that interrupting people who are at a private dinner with friends isn't a cool thing to do. Yet she did it anyway. I don't want people to hate on her and I get that people might see it as a once in a lifetime opportunity that they gotta take but it's still so wrong to me.
How much are we betting Bryony was on her phone to throw some shade in their group chat tho?

mte, offering a picture is just a way to get rid of someone asap before the unwanted interaction spirals down into awkward conversation where they lose control over the situation.pearshaped34 wrote: Sun Feb 04, 2018 12:45 am I don't really want to call the girl out because I have no doubt the phandom are coming for her and I don't really want a part in that but I have to agree going up to someone who is having dinner in a restaurant is never okay.

I used to follow Zoe and Alfie back in 2014, yes I know
, but I remember they asked people to stop coming up to them in restaurants while their eating. Dan and Phil are some of the only youtubers that never really mention things that bother them. Like they may hint at or touch on the subject briefly but never really devote a tweet or a portion of a liveshow to discussing things. After festive ditl, or maybe it was the London one, so many people found out where they lived but I don't think they ever tweeted something like 'stop coming by our apartment.'
Bit off topic but they also don't do this with youtube related things either. I see so many youtubers complain if one of their videos gets demonetized or if it doesn't show up in someones subscription box but deppy just never say anything.

The girl posted some more about the encounter, seems another couple took a picture with them before her. I guess seeing someone else do it could give another confidence to approach them too. But it must not have been that pleasant for them to be interrupted twice (or maybe they don't care that much about these things, who knows. I'm not them).
