People asked what the 'r' in the m&g background stands for and it is the logo of an app called 'rize'. It's a livestreaming app related to younow. So maybe that's what they meant when they said the livestreams would change a bit.
So far the spoilers are making me have mixed feelings. Some of it seems fun, other parts make it look like I'll have to bring a dustpan so that someone can clean up my remains after I have disintegrated into a pile of cringe under my seat.
I'm so angry over the phandom's treatment of Marianne, people were disgusting by calling her awful names and saying that she should be fired. Hating a women and being cruel because she was doing her job... Stay classy phandom

Ooh, thanks for the name. I just read up on it a bit, and I'm intrigued to see how it turns out. A decentralized crypto currency could drive away a bunch of people that would normally pay out money for bars on YouNow due to not understanding the system, but D+P fans are likely to follow them over to a new app, which would be good for them getting a large share of the currency. It's an interesting tech model.mm_sunny1993 wrote: Sat Apr 28, 2018 10:54 pm People asked what the 'r' in the m&g background stands for and it is the logo of an app called 'rize'. Some more musing on Phil’s diss track from a self awareness, how he does YouTube, business stand point.
So YouNow has a new flop app and are sponsoring their golden boys to make it become a thing... I just checked Play Store reviews and this thing seems to work even worse than the YouNow website, so at least they're going for consistency.
Turns out we didn't appreciate Dragon City enough last time.

Yeah, I noticed that. The reviews are pretty terrible, especially for androids. I wonder if they will also spon the US/non-UK legs of the tour.Catallena wrote: Sat Apr 28, 2018 11:38 pm So YouNow has a new flop app and are sponsoring their golden boys to make it become a thing... I am really enjoying all of the spoilers, especially since my show isn't for another couple of months. So excited to read all of your reviews!

Hiya peeps! Well we've certainly been fed well recently, haven't we?!
I'm loving the ig stories and the little domestic snippets we've been getting
(let's be real, I'm here for the relationship, be that Phan or what have you. I just like watching cute men doing cute shit and being cute with each other
alright Janice?),
and I'm enjoying the ii spoilers, though I'm not sure how long they'll hold my interest.
To be honest I'm glad that I ultimately decided against going to the show. I suffer from extreme second-hand embarrassment
and I don't think -- and coupled with my social anxiety -- I would be able to handle the cringe of the show
(read: the audience reaction to campy persona bits. Soz y'alls. Maybe it's my age, maybe my awkwardness idk)
- leave it to our reliable Capita£ester and Daniel How€alth to hop aboard that money train (though actually I fully support them their investments and being smart business men - buy all the Allsaints and Vetements my good sirs!
)
Some interesting quotes about Rize:
"According to the company, selected content creators will receive $ 5 million in PROPS — YouNow’s new token — to produce content for Rize as a promotional initiative to kickstart the app. By offering this potential revenue to creators, the app will have content from influencers who already have millions of viewers.
PROPS will be the fuel behind this new video sharing ecosystem, rewarding content creators for their work. YouNow hopes to use this new financial incentive to grow its existing community of creators even larger. In addition to the new revenue stream, creators will have a stake in the Rize platform by holding the PROPS they earn. As their talents grow the ecosystem, YouNow says, their PROPS holdings will become more valuable, further rewarding them for their work"
"Other creators with large audiences off of YouNow will be eligible to receive bonus tokens, but only when they purchase Props during an initial coin offering (ICO) slated for next month. Those with 10,000,000 followers, for instance, will receive a 40% token bonus, according to a company blog post, while those with 500,000 followers will receive a 20% bonus, and those with 50,000 followers will receive a 12% bonus. Interested parties can submit their channels for consideration"
"Props payouts are based on a formula that evaluates how valuable your contribution is: A stream with thousands of viewers will work out to more Props than you'll earn from a live-video chat with friends in a virtual living room. You can convert Props to dollars, you can use them to send virtual gifts on Rize, or you can hold onto them if you believe they'll rise in value."

I read up on Rize, younow, and the whole cryptocurrency thing and I'm curious to see how it'll hold up next to the behemoth that is YouTube but really I had to roll my eyes a bitonceinaugust wrote: Sat Apr 28, 2018 11:06 pmOoh, thanks for the name. It's hard to even put words to why that insta story from Dan is so endearing. I saw "ty bb ly" and my heart did a weird melting thing, what are these human emotions, how do I return them, I want my money back. I'm glad they made it through the day unscathed (even if the same maybe can't be said for poor Marianne) and I'm glad they're so excited for this tour and I'm so damn glad we get the instagram updates so we can feel that all the more clearly.

i just got back from running errands and came back to like a hundred pages i need to back track in here....anyways, congrats, youve made me internally cry imagining this future ^^^^^^^^
for me its quite a 50-50% scenario. the logical side of me is calmly saying "oh, he means the food. because he love food. of course thats what he meant." and the demon side of my is screaming "ITS PHIL HE MEANS PHIL"obsessivelymoody wrote: Sat Apr 28, 2018 11:49 pm listen, I don't know if this is me being a demon and reading into this too much but "ty ly bb"??? Regardless of that, I'm glad the cat nightshirt has made a return, and I'm glad that they're feeling good!

its "Thank you! love you, babe (or baby)"

"you are next to me in my life"
I initially read it as talking to whoever is watching the instastory* which is unlike dan lol and then thought it was about whoever is taking the pic (Phil, I'm assuming). Whatever he did mean idrc because it is really endearing for some reason.ame wrote: Sun Apr 29, 2018 12:51 amfor me its quite a 50-50% scenario. the logical side of me is calmly saying "oh, he means the food. because he love food. of course thats what he meant." and the demon side of my is screaming "ITS PHIL HE MEANS PHIL"obsessivelymoody wrote: Sat Apr 28, 2018 11:49 pm listen, I don't know if this is me being a demon and reading into this too much but "ty ly bb"??? *or I guess the audience of today's shows
My first thought was 'I guess they confirmed they are sharing a bed' because like that's one bed that they are eating dinner off of together. I honestly didn't even notice the ty ly bb part until I went on tumblr.

Agree that it's endearing no matter what he meant. Knowing Dan it was either meant to have multi-purpose meaning or he meant it specifically for Phil but with the full understanding that it was ambiguous enough that no one would be able to say it was without a horde of people tromping in to immediately argue no way, of course not, not a chance, you're delusional for even considering it. Plausible deniability, man. It's their best friend sometimes. But even if he was just declaring public love for the pita bread - I'm charmed nonetheless.
So I can't remember if this has been talked about yet on here or not, but:
This is a company sponsoring them so I'm feeling like the livestreams we get while they're on tour might be through this app? I mean... knowing they're locked into a contract in exchange for tour sponsorship might be the guarantee we need that they'll go live on a regular basis, lmao.

Lol, declaring public love for pitta bread. Brilliant.
bb could also stand for bye bye so “thank you, love you, bye bye, gonna go eat now”. Pretty sure he’s addressing us with all of that, anyway. He looks hella cute in his jimjams as usual.
Had a lovely day, so glad the tube runs later than I thought since I actually forgot to check, the train went slowly and the show finished late. I’ll see if I can write up some stuff.

agreed. i dont have a communications major but i love analyzing things just for funsies. as someone who grew up jumping from one fandom to another, its definitely an interesting thing to discuss. i feel like the most recent hot take on creator vs fandom discussions is quite relevant to this: "how much or little do creators have to share with the fans?"allsaintshowell wrote: Sun Apr 29, 2018 12:32 am just got back into my dorm and it's 1am so obviously instead of sleeping i need to ramble my thoughts on a forum

assuming it's anything BUT "baby", what does it mean? I've never seen someone say "bye bye" like that, cause when you say "bb" out loud, it sounds like "baby"
could "bb" mean something like... Brighton? something?
i think he meant baby, but it could have been to the food so idk. it's still cute regardless, maybe it's to the food and the Phil.

I'm amused, like last tour we were all wondering what YouNow thought about two of their most popular streamers just leaving the platform for a few months to tour, and now for the second tour they're sponsoring it in the hope D&P will make their new flop app a thing.
I'm having flashbacks to the last time D&P were trying to get us to join a platform... Popjam anyone?
