Speaking of... I'm swamped with work so I haven't had a chance to tackle most of the show but I did go ahead and type up their intro story, which relates to his tweet earlier.
Intro Banter
P: Dan did some exercise this morning.
D: Thank you. Yes, that is a big deal, but it wasn't consenual, okay. This morning it was about ten thirty-
P: Yep.
D: And I'd just hopped in the shower and as I - I just hopped in the shower, like just enough to get fully damp. Not a bit, fully damp. And all of a sudden [imitates a siren noise] - fire alarm starts going off, I freak the heck out because I'm like, this is it. I was like, basic training, what do you do in this situation. I know I shouldn't have but I was like laptop, phone, here we go. Phil was in the room next door but I was like, I don't care.
P: Yeah. [audience laughing over him talking]
D: I presumed Phil was probably fine. I had my laptop and my phone.
P: That's all that mattered.
D: Anyway. You were responsible for yourself. And I ran downstairs, I just - I pulled on pajamas and I was still wet, so I was like-
P: Damp.
D: In damp pajamas.
P: Moist.
D: Fuck! Number one rule, what do you do, you don't use the lifts. We were staying on the eighth floor so I literally ran down eight flights of stairs in wet pajamas with my bag on. [audience applauds] I ran for two minutes and I'm still alive. So impressive. I went across the street and I'm like, designated fire safety zone, here we go - nobody. I was like, am I the last person here? And then some woman leans out the window and goes, "That was a test." And I was like - was I supposed to know? And she said, there's a sign on your door that says every Tuesday at 10:30.
P: At least you did exercise.
D: I was testing YOU. And then I was walking back in and I was clearly the first person because there were still some people walking out and guess what, I called the lift - guess who came out of the lift? Phil.
P: Me!
D: Rule number one - don't use the lift!
P: I was panicked!
D: So you know good thing I didn't wait for you to get my phone or laptop so there we go, I didn't die in a fire but I nearly died from exercising.

Hmmm

Not sure if it should go under spoiler or not but like, what feels off about this to me is that Sarah, the girl that modelled Dan's merch and is travelling with her, posted about the fire alarm this morning and said it went off at about 7am. So now, who's exaggerating? Who was so asleep that they didn't realize the time?

There is no way a hotel would have a fire alarm test that early. Then again you would think they'd have it in the afternoon.

This person on twitter who went to the show and thinks they are staying in the same hotel based on this sign So I really do think it does go off at 10:30 unless there are other hotels that do this.

Now I'm even more confused?? Cause Sarah posted on her story before Dan tweeted about it and I guess she could be saying 7am just to point out it was early ? Honestly Who knows, I was ready to joke about Dan and Phil masterminds of twisting details slightly so they wouldn't get their hotel recognized but here we are lmao

As a former hotel employee I'd say that 7 would be ridiculous time for a fire alarm test. It's ridiculously early, and usually exactly when Night Shift goes to Morning Shift so it would really fuck up your morning briefing. 10:30 is perfect, most checkouts have already happened by then but new guests mostly haven't arrived yet. Other guests are either still at breakfast or already out for the day.

the matching look is adorable though, truly. i can't wait to buy that jacket.
Phil Lester = model. Jeez he looks so good in that jacket.

I wish they'd sell the pins separately, I don't want the jacket but the buttons are so cute! Also why no tour mug, I wish they'd had made some travel cups or water bottles as merch.

Tonight's show was my favourite so far, the crowd and venue were amazing! I might do a review tomorrow on the train :)
there is this song that is played at the end of the show and I love it, I wish they'd say what it is or release it so I can download it!

That's awful, I'm sorry that happened to you :(

I really love watching back their baking videos (monster pops will always be a fave, though they're all wonderful), and for some reason the "dumb ways to die" video stands out as something that never fails to make me smile and feel comforted.

Seconding all of this. I work at a hotel right now and there's literally no way that would ever be scheduled at 7am. You would have SO MANY angry guests doing it that early. People would be demanding refunds left and right. Plus most hotels have their check-out time at 11am, so a 10:30 alarm would be a perfect push to those last stragglers. Maybe sarah isn't a morning person so 10:30 may feel like 7am to her -- i would certainly relate to that

What are people making of the fact that he said he and Phil were in separate rooms? imo it seems like a random lie to throw in especially with how they've been acting in 2018 and could have just not mentioned the room situation at all (as has been the standard so far on this tour).

Idk if this is too recent to be a good suggestion but the charades videos they did for gamingmas are some of my favs from them.

Yeah considering it's a hotel and guests are paying to stay and sleep there, I'm leaning towards Sarah exaggerating to emphasize how tired she is and actually not Dan lying for once.

Also don't think they stayed in separate hotel rooms but I think his wording was fairly ambiguous to not conclusively say either way, especially with the wording "Phil was in the next room" not "Phil was in his hotel room." I mean, maybe Phil was legitimately in someone else's room - if Dan was showering and they were both gearing up to leave the hotel because of checkout time, that would make sense. But he didn't actually specify where Phil was staying in the hotel, just where Phil was in that moment.

While I do agree with Dizzy on this, i also really do hope they do have some time apart. When they're home, they can have time to themselves throughout the day without the other, which is completely healthy and chill. But spending 24/7 together on tour.. Christ. I hope some nights are spent apart just to have a break. Being together 24/7 like that can really strain people, but this is just me speaking from experience. I'm not sure if I'm explaining this well but basically, there's a difference between living together and having separate times to just be alone with ones thoughts, and being together 24/7 in small quarters, not being able to have time apart. Basically, even if they have separate rooms, all the more to them because I totally understand why, I don't view it as lying or anything bad. But if they are together literally 24/7 like we think they are, then they really need to write a how-to book on how they manage to not kill eachother after the first month of tour.

I mean, maybe Phil was legitimately in someone else's room - if Dan was showering and they were both gearing up to leave the hotel because of checkout time, that would make sense. But he didn't actually specify where Phil was staying in the hotel, just where Phil was in that moment.
I have such a hard time imagining myself in that situation and not going to bang on my friends door, even if I thought they might not be there I would still want to check. Obviously I am not dan, but I think it’s much more likely dan just had no idea where Phil was at the time and only found out later that he was next door.

I'm pretty sure that was literally me throughout most of TATINOF, constantly baffled and amazed at how they were not just murderous on that tour bus. But I think the fact that they've done this before is why I'm less concerned about it this time? At this point I just accept that they seem to have an unheard of capacity for being in each other's pockets and still functioning just fine together.

I don’t really care to make sense of their sleeping arrangements. I’m just glad they’re getting nice room service.

@hello9217 while the hotel they are staying at is *not* the one in that tweet, if it *was* you wouldn’t want to post it here while they are still in town ;)

So, it’s been more than a month since the last dinof, at this point, and since June and Dan’s bday is around the corner, is Dan more likely to post a random filler video or the the video he teased back in April that sounded like a follow-up in spirit to the Living My Truth video?

And I HATE to speculate, because I HATE getting my hopes up (fool me once...), but we’ve been on such a roll with #20GayTeen, that if he ends up posting a “Living My Truth - Sexuality Edition”, I think the timing finally feels right. Don’t get me wrong, it’ll probably be a dan-esque waffle about societal misconstructions and the pointlessness of labels that’ll probably raise more questions than answers, BUT maybe he finally feels ready to step out of the glass closet.
(courtesy of fancybums recap)“There was a video that I was gonna post, because after my meme video, I did that trying to live my truth video, I was heading forward with a lot of intent and then I was gonna make another video. But I thought about it a lot—I probably spent a bit too much time thinking about it. And I’ve now decided ‘cause there’s a lot of other stuff to do, a lot of tour stuff, I wanna start talking about some other cool things. I might upload this video in a couple months, say June sometime around my birthday or after, nothing to do with my birthday, just a good time, so look forward to whatever that is.”

I’m still not sold on there being anything special about it being in June, Dan has said that certain videos just feel like certain months to him. However that ‘heading forward with a lot of intent’ bit does give me pause. Before I just thought he was having a burst of creativity, but there could be something to it. Not getting my hopes up though. Anywho, yeah I think we won’t see another proper dinof vid before that, but he did say the trailer would be on his channel. So I expect that is next... Any day now.

I don't think the video specifically has anything to do with June/pride month either. He already knew he wanted to get some tour-related videos (GTPWTW and the upcoming trailer) out of the way first.

I don’t get the impression he's ready to talk more about his own sexuality either, considering all the drama following that live show after Trying To Live My Truth, where he clearly didn't feel comfortable with everyone assuming he admitted to giving blowjobs. However, I also don’t feel like he'd just talk about sexuality in general without applying it to himself. That's the kinda thing he does in live shows sometimes but it's not really a dinof video if Dan doesn't speak about his own experiences regarding the topic he's discussing.

I really don't what to actually expect from the video tbh, just not anything sexuality-related in the middle of the tour like that.

What are people making of the fact that he said he and Phil were in separate rooms?
I don’t think it’s a lie and I think they have separate rooms. They’ve done it before (and people discredited then too) in the tatinof documentary there is a section they are in two rooms and also in the Australia DITL they are also in separate rooms. I mean, the words came out of his mouth “Phil was in the room next door”, so they slept apart imo (also it’s not a big deal for me; they could be sleeping at the venue for all I care). I’m sure they spend the rest of the time together, they clearly ate together and they’re together all day at the show/m&g etc, it’s natural to want to have some time apart.
there are some other questionable parts of the Birmingham show that raised my eyebrow:

Phil was on the wheel of doom. Dan fired at him and it literally got him right next to his penis. Phil obviously whinged about it “if that had been 2 inches to the right” with Dan saYong to him “I strategically hit you in the thigh and you can still have children woo”.

Also, later on in the show they talk about how they can look back at the show and remember how good it was and Dan always says how Phil will be sitting in his rocking chair thinking about how good [insert collective fan name] was. Not that they’ll be sitting there together doing it. Sometimes he changes it up and says Phil will be sitting in space on his rocking chair but it’s always Phil on his own, never together which compared to tatinof where they are both in their rocking chairs seems odd to me.
