I also didn’t hate the pulling people onto the screen part at all. Dan seemed genuinely nervous to do it (don’t blame him) but it went alright! I wouldn’t mind if they did it again! (At least you can choose not to be pulled up).

ETA: I also find it really interesting to see how they interact with fans. Obviously they have a lot of experience but I feel like they’re really good with freaking out fans. The second girl who got pulled up seemed pretty freaking out, and I thought they interacted with her was skillful and so nice. I don’t know why I found it interesting to see their interactions with the fans but it did.
I was also surprised how well it all went. They must have been quite nervous beforehand, and Dan even admitted it. I wasn't expecting people on the internet to be as mild as people at II, but I guess it's a different game when your face is dragged up for everyone to see. I can imagine nobody wants the hate phandom would throw at them if they said something catastrophic. But I also feel like the answers at II have become bolder as the tour has progressed, and now that we know what this Rize thing is all about, maybe we'll get wilder fans on the screen next time. While I would die of embarrassment, laughter, pity and curiosity all at the same time, after today I'm not as worried as I was before.

And the fan interactions were pretty interesting too! They clearly wanted to compliment everyone and say a few words before asking the question. That's a good way to try to make sure everyone feels well treated.
You should never go to sleep on an argument.

no but actually i feel this constantly. dan and phil are genuinely just the best humans to live vicariously through and love from afar. shit like this can improve any bad day i'm having and i'm just so happy for them all the time. :sobs:
Mood. I had a genuinely delightful time grouping all the photos on my sideblog this morning (after struggling last night with the updated Tumblr app’s new photo posting). You can check them out at phan-stan-gram dot tumblr dot com Ooo and now Cornelia has more stills! :love1:

Bless you @rizzo and @Catallena I’m in no rush to catch up because my heart is so full but I’m super grateful already <3

What is it about Australia that always makes Dan and Phil do so much cute shit/stuff they don't normally do (like how Dan publicly debuted painted nails for the first time at that tatinof m&g)??? Whatever it is, I'm not complaining at all. I'm just constantly this emoji though: :happytears:

And thanks to everyone who got the liveshow! I woke up from the notification at 6:12 my time (lol it's also my day off so thanks guys. I was looking forward to not actually having to wake up at 6 today) and missed the first few minutes as I scrambled for headphones. I will say though, like a lot of people I didn't find them dragging people on as cringe as I expected, which was nice. I'm honestly really enjoying the rize liveshows (aside from rize itself being garbage), and I think that mainly has to do with the fact that joint live liveshows are always going to be good with them. They're always so much more domestic and it's nice to see them play off of each other live.

I started rendering the liveshow but then VP died on me because I had the audacity to leave my laptop to eat. Damn my need for food to stay alive am I right? Anyway, we're about 7% into the second try. :thumb:

When I look around at all the Dan and Phil stuff in my room, I like to remind myself that Dan has told us that it’s not a shrine unless you light candles. So, just don’t put any candles under the frame, and you’re good to go!

(But actually this is a cute idea, and I’m now considering creating a digital collage of my favorite D&P photos for myself.)

I totally get you. Phil's expression just looks really soft and relaxed and it's so lovely. Reminds me of the Singapore aquarium selfie-gives off the same vibes.

I found a partial one of the live show? Maybe a partial? I don't know how long it was. Thank you, either way, for everyone putting work into making sure it's available. Time zones and Rize, amirite?

Just watched that version and damn, is Phil stunning. So smiley. Dan’s so sweet to the guests, so many compliments. You can’t see or hear them on it, but you can in the montage Rize tweeted. I didn’t catch the bit where Phil told Dan to be quiet, I’m intrigued. Interesting to hear that Dan doesn’t like sweets so much while Phil’s into his floor-squashed chocolate/raspberry roll sweets. It’s not really licorice if it’s red, it’s just a gummy really.

The liveshow has now been uploaded on In Depth Bants, and unlike the other one the video quality is as HD as you can get with Rize. You're welcome. because they looked very pretty and that should be appreciated in full glory.

Sorry for the long wait btw, my current laptop was just not made for editing beasts like this.

Also am I the only one giggling at Dan insisting that the lake was called Brown BEAR Lake? That boy and his bears... :love2:

Woo! Thank you @Catallena and @rizzo! Teamwork!
That was a great liveshow too, though I could tell they were tired- poor Dan spaced out there for a minute towards the end. And the audience interactions were sweet, everyone was really nice and professional. (Except it lagged and I never saw the people waving at the end...)

The lag courtesy of the flop that is Rize does murder the video and audio sync at some point, but tbh fixing that would be... probably possible for someone with more skill than me but that's just not happening. The audio was perfectly lined up at the start and as it goes on the lag just kinda fucks it over as it goes on.

omg thank you @catallena and @rizzo for grabbing the ls in such high quality!!!!! it was so cute. i think they both were visibly a bit nervous about the prospect of dragging people onto the screen and i thought it was interesting to see dan go out of his way to say smth like 'don't disappoint me' as one final warning before they got started to try and prevent any less than palatable comments from being made. it's so fascinating to me how people's answers (when under pressure, and when their name/face is attached to it as someone pointed out above) are so .. like generic? or that (spoiler tagged for brief aside about ii)
everyone's answers mimic a lot of the ones we've heard from across all the ii shows. just another point to show that it's probably really not dnp picking 'safe' answers to work with in shows but that a majority of answers they're receiving genuinely fall in line with these really common tropes/branding jokes
i also definitely viewed that moment of phil telling dan to 'shush' while they were talking about ariana grande as dan throwing a bit of a toddler tantrum. omg. i replayed that like 500 times probably? it's at around 32:30 in the idb video (there is a slight bit of a lag between video and audio so it's worth watching in the other vid linked previously too i think! it's a little earlier timestamp-wise in that one.) i'm just gonna ramble about that whole thing a little bc im so interested by it lmao. so it happens when dan wants to talk about how phil has definitely listened to 'god is a woman' but phil wants to make a point about how he doesn't think he's really heard a song till he's listened to it on headphones. phil makes a shushing noise/gesture at dan when dan goes to interrupt him and dan does a 'this guy /wtf' gesture in response and then falls silent, and physically pulls back on the sofa and blinks a lot in apparent exasperation. and then you can *see* phil finishing his point about the headphones then expecting dan to jump back in, but dan doesn't. so phil reads a comment in the chat and then tries to change the topic to vma opinions and dan STILL doesn't take the bait until phil literally turns around to face him and asks him the question directly. then dan does this sassy 'oh sorry' and a hand gesture like wow ok u want me to talk now and you can see phil very slightly widen his eyes as though he wants to roll them and im just fascinated by the whole interaction aksdlfjsdlfsdf. all the comments rolling in are addressing it too, ranging from calling dan rude to saying phil is a mood. i just thought the whole thing was interesting and i def think it's a dynamic we've seen a billion times but this felt like such an overt example of that streak of petulance we sometimes see in dan and phil's not knowing exactly how to react to it (esp in front of an audience), maybe wondering if he actually overstepped somehow and crossed a boundary by silencing dan, but still feeling a degree of annoyance and having that be visible on his face lmao. im laughing. any version of their dynamic that isnt the apparently perfect super-best-friends-(and-soulmates)-who-constantly-read-each-others-minds-and-know-Exactly-How-to-support-each-other-best-in-every-situation-mind-meld fascinates me deeply. idk, id love to hear if other ppl took it this way or if it did feel more like dan just 'spacing out' to majority of folks!

anyway, i love them. it's been a good day for content man, im overwhelmed.

I know I recorded the LS, but the funny bit there is that, while recording, I can't actually hear the sound until it's done. But then I had work. So I've only just caught up and watched the thing and it's so lovely?

Phil was very ~take charge~ during the whole thing and I loved the entire bit where they critiqued Ready Player One. I feel like it's rare for us to see them basically finishing each others sandwiches like that.

As an Ariana stan, I have to say that I thoroughly agree with his review of her album. Sorry,. Ari. :( What I don't agree with? His dislike of chocolate & fruit combos. What about Fruit and Nut Cadbury? Chocolate covered jellies?? Jaffa Cakes?!! SMDH.

And finally.... he slept 8 hours on the flight? Eight. Full. Hours?! Look, I realize they walk on dollar bills now and had that whole fold-out bed situation, but I have a hard time believing anyone can pull off a full 8 hour sleep on a plane. There's no way in hell. Conclusion: the boy's addicted to ZzzQuil. Explains the bus crash incident too. Don't @ me.

The silent bratty Dan moment is easiest to see on a third upload I came across on YouTube https://youtu.be/4VImxrrDYPM?t=31m34s The person recording seems to not have gotten any comment lag at all, which is lucky! The comments about Dan being rude are actually from earlier in the stream when Dan knocked Phil's chocolate onto the floor for... unclear reasons, tbh. Sometimes the comments start displaying weirdly the longer you've been in the stream because Rize.

I am way too overwhelmed with content to get very analytical about silent!Dan even though I kind of want to. I'll just add that Dan does the staying-silent-until-Phil-invites-him-to-talk-again thing somewhat oftenish, and it never quite comes across as funny as I imagine Dan thinks it is? Phil often doesn't play along, either, which makes it seem less jokey and more bratty.

Also the monkey noise Phil uses to shush Dan is weirdly good.

Totally fine, syncing the audio mid-way would be a nightmare. I don't even know how that would work.

actually i'd like to retract my earlier statement saying i thought it just seemed like he was spacing out.

i just went back and rewatched that specific part and it definitely seems to me now like he was definitely being pouty cause phil cut him off. so dramatic -- i relate tho.
