About shipbaiting. What they did back in the early days, with flirty tweets and pinof 1 and stuff, if back then there were the concept of a youtube ship (there were ships for sure, just don't know if they were popular on youtube fandom) they would be considered shipbaiting imo. But nowadays they rarely do that other than some occasional #domestic moments. But the thing is they don't have to bait for ship, they are the biggest and the oldest ship in the history of youtube, they don't need to bait for people to ship them, theirs shippers do the baiting for them.

But really if Dan and Phil are together, and they clearly want to keep it a secret then of course their friends are going to deny it. What are they supposed to say, they can't say that they are in a relationship so that only leaves either lying about it or just totally ignoring it.

I genuinely think that nearly everyone knows. Think of them what you will, there seems to be a pretty decent code of silence between most of the big YouTubers who share social circles about keeping personal info personal. Because most of them have either been there or can imagine. This sort of Slytherin "we take care of our own" thing. Like take how many people talked about having known Connor Franta way gay before he came out. Heck, even Dan, between talking about it making him cry and agreeing with him that everyone was just to be happy - there was no implication that this was in any way a surprise to him.
So I just really struggle to imagine being in a 7 year long, happy relationship and yet choosing to have to watch yourself all the time. It's one thing to do it online & to your audience. But like... Just in your day to day life? I honestly cannot believe that & if it's true, that would make me so incredibly sad.
Alas, I will mull this over for some time, because I truly didn't know that there were even people who think this out there. I'll give it some consideration. We shall call it a brain bug.

Wouldn't they have to? People talk. If they actually are together, there's no way everybody doesn't know. Felix is good friends with PJ, they've all hung out together on a few occasions that we know about... If there's a loop to be in, he must be in it, even if it is only by association. Jack&Dean must know, and Hazel. And then all of those people talk to people they know (remember Evan's: "behind closed doors, YTers talk more than you do" comment). It's got to be an open secret to the YT community. edit:

I don't know guys, I like mango as in the fresh fruit from the tree because I have a tree at the back of my grandma's house, but dried mango is weird. I don't like my fruits being dried because I love all the juice in it.

You can be selective about who you tell about a relationship. It can be a strain sometimes though. And annoying not being able to fully relax, or "having to be careful" in public/at events... But having some semblance of privacy, so long as you have supportive people who know, and know to keep schtum around you both, it's fine 99.9% of the time. #OverSharing

fancybum & phamnotof, But the thing is with youtubers, or with people in general, if a person is gossiping to you about other people's business, you know they ain't trustworthy. And Dan himself knows that, do does Phil, I guess Felix knows that as well. So if PJ is telling Felix the thing that Deppy wouldn't want others to know, would Felix trust PJ and be friend with him? I think not.
Deppy kept themselves in a relatively small social circle and people that they be friend with usually are in the same circle, like Louise go with the gleamers occasionally Jack and Hazel, PJ with his friends, Cat have an other social circle, Duncan and Memei is all the way on the other side of the earth, Wirrow and brynoy are no long in the youtube scene, Felix also have his own circle. Thoese circles may overlap but that greatly reduce the chance of these people get the world out if they know the truth, however Connor on the other hand he is within a massive social circle himself and befriends with most of people in that circle, so these people are less conscious about sharing other's private matter.
Dan and Phil put so much effort into avoiding vlog cams for so many years, if they really out to all the youtubers, they will be naturally assume that people will out them for the views, because they all already know, and they didn't out them already. Plus there are gonna be anonymous youtubers posting in GG saying that phan is common knowledge in youtubers blah blah. The fact deppy are so discreet means that not many people knows.
I'm pretty sure Jack doesn't know, and if doesn't, Hazel is more less likely to know. If Jack knows, he won't be almost out them twice, he would be saying "youtube changed, it used to be about creativity, not hot guys dating rumor" and shit like that. First time he did that in Dan's liveshow he was joking with Phil and following Louise's teasing at Phil saying "Phil was texting his girlfriend", and Jack followed by asking "boyfriend?" If he knows, why would he ask that cuz Phil's boyfriend was sitting right next to him. And the second time in Louise's vlog, Jack say "you are making out with..." and Dan cutted him saying "Not me and you (making out)", my guess is Jack was trying to make a phan joke but Dan didn't like it. Again, if he knows for sure he wouldn't make such a joke he would avoid phan topic or help hide phan.
Evan doesn't know shit. If he knows he probably outed them already.
