They exhausted themselves with all that poolside... lounging... and just couldn't find time to work a video in.

think about it. his old name "danisnotonfire"...because dragons cant burn. him being a furry is because in actuality he likes to hoard warm, adorable, furry living beings and who else is warm, adorable and furry? PHIL.

the conspiracy board is growing, we must go deeper !!!!!!!!!!1!!!111
I think we can add this [3:53] as strong evidence in favor of your "Dan is a dragon" hypothesis. I mean, he's basically already admitted it.

I've seen people say it a bunch of times (and obviously already have my own opinions hah) but I'd love to know what makes Dan's beach picture fuckboy like? Because he isn't being self deprecating? Because he doesn't have a shirt on? I've seen so many people say and agree with it but I don't see where it's coming from in the first place

I can't speak for everyone of course, but I know when I say it in regards to some of Dan's selfies I'm poking fun at the pursed lips (in this particular photo), tongue out, "smoldering" look at the camera. I think it comes off more accusatory/intense than when I (or others idk) poke fun at Phil's butthole face or his domaniant crotch stance. I think because Dan's expressions in some of his selfies are often associated with a "typical fuckboy" look, people just use it as an umbrella term. I'm curious to see what others say, though, because I have no idea if I'm a minority in the way I use it.

I'd also be interested to know what 'fuckboy' means in relation to Dan, as the few articles I could stand to skim through on this term were pretty heteronormative and suggested a positive association between one's fuckboy status and one's level of misogyny.

I can't speak for anyone else but to me a "fuckboy" type of term is like the opposite end of a "thirst trap" because with a thirst trap its someone felling themselves but wanting validation and likes and compliments and its like "hey attractive person, please tell me i'm attractive" wheras fuckboy implies arrogance and power and dominance but its all kind of phony (so white guys trying to look "gangsta") which is why i don't consider dan's selfie to be a very fuckboy one, but maybe i understand the term differently than other people.

I do consider it to be a thirst trap-ish picture so sometimes these terms mean nothing

Edit: I just googled "daniel howell fuckboy" in images to see what would pop up and there are edits obviously but most of them seem to be using old school emo selfies with the myspace angel and dan biting his lip, make that of what you will

Hi.

Dan didn’t show more than the top of his chest because there were... fluids... further down.

This is now absolute fact and can never be challenged.

You may now continue.

I wouldn't call Dan a fuckboy based on that last picture, because to me, a fuckboy is something different and entails more than just looks. I may be using it wrong, though.
The reason why I think other people might use it because it's a revealing photo for Dan's standards, and it screams something like "I look good and I know it". Personally I love the confidence, but maybe that's one explanation.

I would reaaally love a video right about now, but if they're busy with their poolside activities, I'll wait. :D
However I can't help but dream of a video with Martyn and Cornelia. I think the odds are not in our favor though, don't think it's gonna happen.

Do you think we'll get a video before they depart for Manila?

Yes, calling somebody a fucboi is no different from calling someone a thot. So I hope people who make a big deal out of the one aren't hypocritical and liberally apply the fuckboi label to guys they know that fit the bill. After the last picture I've seen tweets calling Dan a thot btw.
Personally, I don't really think any of it is necessarily offensive, just like any word, you have to take into account the context and intent of the communicator. If people make picture compilations of Dan calling him a "thot" while dedicating their whole account to being a fan of Dan and Phil, I'm assuming they have some appreciation for him and use the word in jest.

I think the distinction here, at least for me, is not about calling DAN a fuckboy, but rather poke fun at the pose. Not him looking pretty, not his confidence or the fact that he's shirtless, just the pose itself. For me personally, when I said that the first thing that came to mind when I saw it was "fuckboi teasing the dick appointment" isn't done with malice. I'm chuckling at the caption and marvelled at his confidence, but I see nothing wrong with any of it.

Maybe I'm using the word fuckboi (not fuckboy, that's different to me) wrong though, and if it's inherently offensive then I apologize. I just always thought it meant someone looking good and owning it because they know they can bring all the boys/girls to the yard and will probably make good use of that knowledge :shrugs:

Personally that picture doesn't make me any kind of uncomfortable. On the contrary, the front facing pic with the ii jacket does, and no one associated fuckboi with that and I still can't look at it for more than one second lol

Ah , I like his front facing pic with the merch too, I found his look so 110% Dan
It's the "Don't talk to me" message on the merch that I find really cringy. That's clothing I'd never buy, even though I like the style of the clothes themselves.

Liola just for clarity I didn't mean to attack you I didn't even read back much just got on the world wide web, read the last post and was reminded of the 'thot' debate a while back.
I don't think it's bad to call Dan a fuckboy or thot at all, provided it's not malicious. Because all meaning in language is contextual. jUst wanted to point out that the concepts are very similar, just the gender is different. I was thinking about a family party where some younger cousins were throwing around the term, and it def. gets used as an insult in some cases. It's a bit of a fluid term that can mean different things, but they way i've seen it used fuckboi means "empty head, show off, somebody who's only good to have casual sex with".

I've consulted the stars and though they are louse at conversation I think they told me there was going to be a video this weekend. I can feel it. It is time. Please Dan and Phil, hit us with that sweet sweet c o n t e n t

You're fine, my reply was more geered towards the whole conversation :thumb: I completely get what you say, and words are very much contextual. I also still think there's a difference between fuckboi and fuckboy, like tall and tol if you will

Also maybe I'm writing like a moron but I meant that the pic Dan posted yesterday to spon the tour merch, the second one facing the camera makes me very uncomfortable, there's some thing about his soft look that doesn't look soft at all to me and I don't know why lmao

They seem to be having fun, but I have two requests: a group pic and a video. And a Phil selfie. Maybe even shirtless, or a merch pic. Hey even a pic with only Dan and Martyn..

Okay it's more than 2 requests I'm leaving

I definitely classify "fuckboy selfies" by his pose and facial expression, and that's really it. It never (for me) implies that he is a fuckboy, just that that particular picture looks like one. The weird pouty expression, squinted eyes, and the raised arm all check off the boxes for me, and give me that frat boy vibe
and I mean like, there's obviously no problem with him posting photos like that, especially if they make him feel confident, but I, personally, will never see the appeal

Ah he does look pretty soft in the second pic imo. Hm, could it be the shading? Looks like they edited it a bit there's some suspiciously dark shades at the base of his neck and around his eyes that look a bit unnatural to me. I can see how together with the slightly posed smile it gives a bit of a sinister look. Like if you put him in a dark alley in the streets of London and you don't know it's Dan he could look quite intimidating to me.

I'm curious where this plant fic is going. The last panels make me think it might have a bit of an undertale vibe? Maybe he'll turn out to be "the sunflower that can't sunflower" and he becomes either a sad or (genocidaly) angry flower. There's still a lot of ways Hector can go with this.

i went back to read the fuckboi discussion (i have no opinion on this, i didn't even know that 'fuckboy/fuckboi' was so full of meaning, for me saying that someone is a fuckboy can be bad or good depending on who you're talking about, and (just for me again) it's more about the pose one's taking, the attitude and everything, and as someone said, there is also the concept of power. for me fuckboy would be, like, if i posted a selfie with pouty lips and a 'better than you' attitude)

i highlighted this bit because it's exactly what i thought when i saw dan's merch pic yesterday.
liola wrote: Sat Sep 08, 2018 10:57 am

i don't know why exactly but the pic makes me feel v uneasy, it doesn't look like dan and as @liola said, he looks very 'harsh' in the pic? i don't really know how to explain this but yeah i don't like the pic very much
