Dan is taller, and it's not by 0.1 inches, but at least 1 inch or more. He's just bigger overall, more widely built. Even looking at their shoulder levels, the height difference is obvious.

Their sexuality is still questionable for me. I'm phan-agnostic, I've no idea (even though I've said that if they're not moving out separately in a few years time I will start assuming they're in a relationship). Sexuality is just a difficult topic and I understand why they are not talking about it. It's good if you're exclusively heterosexual, homosexual or bisexual. But if you're somewhere in between (I'm talking as a heteroromantic bisexual, who took more than 23 years and a few broken hearts to find out why I'm not emotionally and romantically connecting with my girlfriends) it gets difficult to explain, especially to the masses of people.

The reality is that we don't really know what goes behind the screen. They can be off social media for days, doing their thing with or without each others' presence. They could be living with their non-dan or non-phil partners most of the week and we have no clue about that. They did a very good job separating their work and private lives. I guess even their friends are separated. Youtube "colleague" ones and "real ones / the ones without a camera". They don't vlog and only talk "entertainment" on twitter. I would love to see their real personas, not the entertainers that they are, but oh well, it's their job and they do it quite well.

I'm usually more on the "they're not together" side, because if they are, their relationship after years of "hiding" would be a bit strained. This doesn't mean that they were not together in the past, or won't be in the future. I definitely don't see them coming out in a traditional "youtuber" way, I guess if they are together or will get with someone else and this might become serious (marriage, moving out, getting a house or whatever) they would mention that in one of their videos and move on. I don't think they're with anybody atm, most probably they're enjoying their great careers and after everything will calm down career-wise they will settle down.

I wrote a lot and probably missed a lot on what I wanted to say, so sorry in advance it's 3am and I should probably go to sleep.

does anyone have an estimated height on dan back in 2009/10? i've always been intrigued to see just how much he's grown since then, but my guessing skills are pretty shit

my main theory with his reluctance to tell his true height comes from not only insecurity of aging but also (please forgive the next few words) a wanting of the same/similar power dynamics he had with phil back when he was shorter. i don't want to get too near fanfic but i've always thought he may just enjoy feeling smaller in romantic/sexual settings, and his height changing that made it a soft spot for him. he can lie to himself to make himself feel better, but the photographic evidence stands. that boy is taller.

and obviously 6 years on it's a little silly but i can't really see anything else (besides maybe branding).

I honestly thought the girl box thing so familiar I must have heard it from the Louise and cat collab but i went to check it was not? She talked how Phil prepared three pillows for her.

So even thought I've never actually heard of the gurl box thing i immediately got the gist of that it was Phil offering Louis girl stuff as hospitality. So i kinda don't know why it was a big deal.

During Playlist Live 2015 there was some controversy around the youtuber Sprinkleofglitter, Louise. Most controversy was about the way she is rumoured(!) to have answered a question about phan. There is no video of this, hence rumour, but several people at the time confirmed she answered a question about Dan and Phil's relationship saying: "honestly nobody knows".



^ These are the original tumblr posts that were made about it, that were later backed up by other people. Note that both posts were made by the same person and that the second post was what started the whole "girl box" thing as well (that's the only reason the girl box is relevant to this post).

After Louise supposedly answered the phan question, she went on Tumblr and liked a post where a fan was pleading other fans not to grill Louise over D&P's relationship, because she either doesn't want to break people's hearts if they're just friends, or she "doesn't want them to hate her" if she confirms they are together. Note: This is a fact, she definitely did this. [Original Tumblr link]

Why is this interesting?
1. Phan lol
2. Other friends of D&P's usually avoid the question altogether these days and don't let on that they know some sort of truth. By liking that post Louise did let on she knows something, and that she is in fact uncomfortable getting asked about it. This is true regardless of whether she actually answered that phan question or not.
3. It is also a weird change of stance for Louise, who in 2014 had no trouble denying phan:

The same girl who reported on Louise answering the phan question also said Louise told them Dan and Phil had a "girl box" in their bathroom - and because it was in a popular Tumblr post, it BLEW UP. The phandom went crazy about the girl box and wanted to know what it was. Lo and behold, one day later the girl actually managed to film herself asking Phil about the girl box and having him confirm it (0:37):

So at least that part of her post was true, ya know. Anyway, that's what the girl box is and that's what the whole Louise phan controversy of Playlist 2015 was all about.

Final notes
In the name of full disclosure, it's worth noting that this wasn't the only controversy/questionable behaviour Louise was involved with around this time:
- During the same Playlist she is also rumoured to have told a fan that Connor Franta was currently dating someone, even though he hadn't made anything public himself.
- Two months later she had a liveshow phonecall with D&P that a lot of people described as awkward and strange [link]
- A few weeks before announcing her separation with Matt she liked a Tumblr fan fic that was about her hooking up with Dan, who comforted her whilst her marriage crumbled [fic link] [screenshot of Louise's like] [Louise talking about it]
- (For those who don't know, Louise's marriage ended in divorce this year and she's said it was a really bad year for her where she lost touch with a lot of friends.)

I did find that strange when I first heard about. She essentially said she was glad a fanfic of a romantic air was written about her and Dan. I expected Phil to come out with his flying cactus bludger ! She seems very flirty and obviously sexually attracted to Dan, its pretty clear in her interactions with him that at least at some point she may have liked him. The thing that interests me is how Phil is so supportive of their friendship with this knowledge. I remember the only time he was uncomfortable was when they were making weird noises and he rushed into the room to see what was happening I want to see some jealous Phil, so many people probably hit on Dan and yet we never see Phil look uncomfortable or territorial (I would kill to see them at a bar). He must be very confident in whatever relationship they have or he is keeping the "Northern beast" inside

In looking for photos of Dan's nose (yeah yeah don't judge) I happened upon a tumblr post where they claimed that Dan purposely hunches over so that he is "looking up" to Phil during gaming videos and baking videos. They had a similar theory, that he was trying to recapture something he felt back when he was shorter and actually did have to look up at Phil, and he felt more comfortable with that dynamic. I didn't really buy the theory 100%, but they did have a lot of screenshots to back up their point.

The earliest height mention I can find from Dan is a March 2011 Vyou, where he says he is 6 feet tall.

Edit: And here's a March 2011 Vyou from Phil where he says he is 6'1" or 6'2" and adds, "I'm always taller than people expect me to be."

It's kind of amazing she's not the one who outed Zalfie. I do love her, but she's That One Friend we all have who can't keep a secret to save her life.

Because of all this and other reasons, I can't help but think D+P wouldn't trust Louise enough to tell her if they were actually together. Sure, they seem to get along great but that doesn't mean she has their undying trust. Also, the fact that she's a gleamer and seems to hang around other gleamers more than she hangs with D+P....I just don't think they'd risk telling her. Of course everyone suspects it anyway, but confirming it is something else.

Imho, the only people who I personally think would know if they were actually together are wirrow+Bryony. And maybe Cat and maybe PJ (and therefore Sophie).

The "who knows/who doesn't" discussion made me think of that. Surely Phil's family knows (assuming they are together).

Also, Louise being so Dan-centric in a sexual way makes me weirdly uncomfortable. To me it seems disrespectful of Phil, even if Phil is 100% confident that the attraction isn't mutual on Dan's part and isn't threatened in the least. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned . . .

In totally unrelated, yet immensely creepy news, I was all over the backstage area of the Dolby Theatre today (where Deppy will be performing in Hollywood) and while there are many dressing rooms, the biggest one which is also very close to the stage, aptly titled "Dressing Room 1" is where I assume will be placed.
What's notable about this? The dressing room comes furnished with a couple things...couches, chairs, end tables...and a piano. A little old piano in the corner. When I saw that and thought of the piano in Dan's room, and the two of them wandering into their dressing room and Dan fiddling around with it, well it just made my little heart pitter patter ever so slightly.

When Louise called them in the liveshow, I didn't find it awkward. They'd tell anyone they're live on YouNow. I don't see any controversy in her answering about phan, it seems a very strong word for answering a question. People keeping on asking other youtubers is more annoying.

Re height again, I thought it was Phil who wears thicker-soled trainers more often Also they often stand differently, Phil with his feet wider while Dan usually has his feet together. When I met them Dan seemed a lot taller and quite willowy, but that was also quite a blur.
