Phil's quizzes video: it turns out Phil's video was cute. Phil IS cute. He is watchable, he is likable, he is kinda entertaining.

I'm kinda confused by your argument and would like to understand it better. This is why: If you look at what I bolded you will see that you contradict yourself. "I loved Phil's over the top acting and Dan's over the top everything" and then later you criticize Phil on his "way of talking" because it's "like the duracell rabbit on crack." I'm confused about what else "over the top" could mean. It also seems like you're okay with Dan being energetic but not Phil. That also confuses me.
No i don't contradict myself. I meant dramatic over the top in Dan's video. Like Phil's acting is bad and dramatically over the top just as Dan makes everything in that anecdote 10 times more dramatic than it was already with the way he talks and explains it. It fits the video, it makes it fun. Dan making every small detail of something happening super dramatic even when it is not necessarily is not a new thing. He does it all the time, sometimes it is annoying but in this case i think it worked.
Also I don't have anything against either of them being energetic. As I said, I understand they both have to hype themselves up and appear more energetic on camera than irl. (and not only them, every youtuber).
Phil's version in the quizz video, in the creepy doll video and in fact in any recent video where he is alone (granted not that many) is not energetic/enthusiastic anymore though he is well beyond that. For me it's downright creepy and appears so fake. It appears like he learnt his whole speech by heart and recites it without taking any breath and without thinking any of it. It doesn't make me feel like he talks to me, tells me about his day/anecdotes whatever. It freaks me out and i hate it. And as I said, when he is in video with other people or in his liveshow, he is still presenting an energetic/enthusiastic version of himself but not to the point he looks like an eversmiling robot on crack.

1st I think it is kinda funny and telling that you have to take whatever criticism I said about Phil and bring it back to Dan. Like yeah "I thing the state of Phil's channel is kinda sad" but "DAN! look at Dan his videos are bad too! let's criticise dan!!"
To be clear, it is not because I specifically criticized Phil in my message because I got that shock/revelation watching his latest video, that I think Dan is perfect and his channel is flawless etc. But considering you asked, here is my opinion only (and only 2016 videos).

I have actually the kinda same number of videos that I found good or ok on both of their channels but with more videos on Phil's and also with the fact nearly all of Phil's video include Dan. You say they frequently do collabs with each others on their channel but I disagree, Phil has Dan in 7 videos, Dan has Phil in the blinded myself video (and as an actor, not really as a collab) and on the Tatinof trailer. The fact they both have vloggy videos is true but honestly I don't see any similarities between their vloggy videos in the execution and I don't see why because I loved Dan's last video, I should love Phil's (recent) vlogs that are nothing like it and are also
imo very inferior not necessarily in their idea/the story told but in their execution.

I disagree i still think their solo videos are very different and especially in their execution and watching at their 2016 videos I really fail to see how you think their videos are so similar. Also I never said in my post that I found Dan's content more original, creative... more deserving of views than Phil. Once again, I never said that. I never actually spoke of Dan in my post. You are the one making that comparison.
And yeah I don't think Phil's videos are creative or original, I do often find them entertaining though. As for Dan I agree, I don't think they are that creative or original either. I would argue that the
execution of his ideas are
recently more creative and better done than Phil. But i never read everywhere "Dan is so creative and original he deserves more subs" because we all know it's not really true, I read it constantly about Phil and for this I completely disagree. I don't think Phil is creative or original on youtube, he was once upon a time but he really is not now.
One thing also, I don't agree with the concept of someone "deserving" more subs or not. Like people subscribe to your channel if they like your content enough, this whole thing like Phil or Dan or Gertrude deserves more subs is alien to me I find it silly because people can like and subscribe and do whatever they want, there is no deserving there.
About the yelling I am confused. I never said I dislike when Phil yells. I am not even sure I have ever seen him yelling in a video? But I don't dislike when Dan yells either generally, so I think there was a misunderstanding. Phil yelling doesn't bother me. It is his fake ultra energetic/enthusiastic/bright youtuber perfect prototype behaviour I dislike, like in his latest solo vid.

yes you are right here. I am happy to have more content back because even if I dislike/criticize it, it entertains me first watching it but also reading about it here for ex. There are also always small parts or snippets that I do enjoy, even when I find the overall quality of the video disappointing. With more content there is also more chance to have a video that I like. And finally it is also more interaction in general with them across all their media that makes me excited.
I am so excited to see what comes next, even if it's nothing in particular, cause usually you change pics/header quickly because you know what you want. Oh well, can only wait.
