no one has mentioned phil’s black mirror tweet but as i may have watched the entirety of black mirror today i can’t stop thinking about it. so i put my thoughts under the spoiler if you haven’t seen it or aren’t interested in my OT af thoughts.

obviously youtube culture, and social media in general, is about numbers and seeking validation through that. in the first episode the show portrays a world in which people present only the best (and admittedly fake) versions of themselves. the people in this world base their value in society on a 5 star rating, like as phil mentioned, youtube used to do. it is an obviously satirical observation but i think it can easily be applied to youtuber culture. as discussed heavily on this site, actual phil lester is different from his AP persona and he censors himself into an idealized version of who he really is. it makes me wonder more about how much of what deppy say/do is catering towards the fans to get that “5 star rating.” i think it’s really interesting and would love to hear thoughts from dan and phil about the show in general, because there are a lot of really fascinating topics the show brings up. i have a feeling pretentious dan will have a lot to say about the show in his next ls.

in other news, i'm so happy that spooky week is finally here i can't wait to see the rest of the games they play. i kind of wish they would have taken this more seriously as i think this is the first fnaf that i'm actually interested in what's going on. i think i'm going to have to find someone actually playing so i can watch for the story and not for the longing deppy gazes & #bants.

BM is one of my favourite shows of all time, and I'm definitely sure dan will have a lot to say about it. So +1 really excited for his next ls to hear about them. (Espec. Ep 2/3/4)

FNAF video was alright, liked their banter, felt the game was lacking. Not as scary? Still, a good video for the start of the week. I like how danger men has now become a ~thing & has joined the long list of ~things. Kinda endearing & interesting how they always seem to make small seemingly innocuous things become ~things. A testimony to both them and their audience tbh.

Excited for the Outlast demo vid. Hoping they make one that matches the greatness of their PT video, if that's possible. Also, really hoping they don't do another vid like Can Your Pet. Excited for the rest of them!

Yeah his haircut looks awful And he has had that shirt since 2013 when he still had the build of a teen instead of an adult man... I know it'd break the hearts of many but maybe it's time to throw it out. There's plenty of his old clothes he doesn't own anymore (or is never seen in anyway), so I don't quite understand why he hangs on to this one to this particularly ill fitting shirt.

Late to the party

I love the fnaf vid, although a bit disappointed that it's not as scary and there's less jumpscare.Maybe the game is a lot scarier if you play by yourself. But I think it is a good choice of game to ease ourself into spooky week

I think the most scariest part is when they saw the eyes in the hole when they are least expecting it. And all the ventilation shafts part. I am severely claustrophobic when I was a kid to the point of refusing to close toilet door Although it's not as bad now, I still have it and the vent part makes me short of breath for some reason


The decoration is downgrade from last year for me I'm afraid. And when they turns off the light, i think it is brighter than usual so that is a nope too

Can't wait for the rest of the spooky week. Hopefully it goea up and better from here, unlike the flop that is last year with 'Can Your Pet'.

I noticed that too, he looks tired in both, dark circles and all, and he was quieter in the video than usual, especially for a scary game. They were up late talking about films when they went to Brighton, according to PJ's tweet, maybe that didn't help, but who knows

I'm so down for Phil Lester appreciation! He's such a beautiful human being I agree with pilotlight, he's not conventionally handsome. Which is a good thing, in my opinion. I think there's something strangely beautiful about him and I can't help but associate him with the word ethereal. It just feels fitting, I know it means "too perfect for this world", and I don't like the word perfect, but damn, I will make an excuse for Phil. While Dan is more the "woha, he's handsome" kind of guy that most people find hot, Phil's beauty is something that you might not notice at first, but once you see it, you can't stop staring at him and thinking about it. I remember that when I started watching their videos, I mostly looked at Dan and now I mostly look at Phil and am captivated by his beauty. It's just ... he's so beautiful and hot and just ... wow. I can't believe I didn't see it at first. Phil is kind of extraterrestrially beautiful. This is such a sappy post, it's not very common for me to write things like that. I apologise

I actually think Phil is conventionally attractive, he's a tall man with blue eyes black hair and cheekbones you could cut diamonds on, one day Dan is gonna persuade him to spend more than £20 on a shirt and he's going to look like a tom ford model and my eyes will melt at the beauty that is phil.
