Channels that are very slow in uploading stuff? I would know none. I only follow youtubers who regularly upload high quality content
I was trying to order my thoughts on how we simultaneously like and dislike certain things so we hide our love under the guise of irony. So i watched his ironic yolo vid again and it's genuinely representing what i think. It's one of his best video's really.
I love the duplicity that's present in what i suspect are often their passionate opinions and instincts and their constant self -aware attempts to put those into perspective.

Ah damn. Because of your post I rewatched Ironic Appreciation as well, and now I miss 2013 Dan videos, humor and looks. His hair looked good, and the earrings... fuck me.
brb binge watching 2012 to midway 2014 Dan videos. \o/

I wanted to throw under the bus in that post by including a joke about their upload schedules, but I decided against it. You did it for me. *high five*

Y'all convince me to binge watch 2013 Dan videos so I'm gonna do it now, and yes he looked
so good during this period. He still does look good but y'all know what I mean.

I for one ironically like/buy a bunch of stuff. I mean, I guess you could argue that I secretly really do like it and am just hiding, but... There are lots of things I'm amused by more so than genuinely enjoy which is why I do them. Just the context of things are funny, like purposefully buying really ugly clothes, buying very childish decor items because me, an adult, owning them makes it seem funny. I don't know, now that I'm explaining this I feel like I sound really immature with no sense of actual humor.
I also thought this is what Dan's furry jokes are all about--pretending like its something he's really into because you wouldn't expect it, but it makes it funny? I don't know. This post is pointless, don't mind me.

that's kinda common, consider "joke gifts." that's a pretty popular thing to get a friend, it's like ironically getting them something they wouldn't actually like as a joke. That's similar to ironically buying/liking things yourself.

ironic thanks for bringing up the Ironic Appreciation video, I'd never watched that one somehow?? Idk what happened
Its a very fitting video for Dan it's made me think.

Nope I followed what you mean. I don't think I use "ironic" like that. I just like stuff in varying degrees or levels, or something. Maybe I like ironically a little as well, I'm not sure. Liking stuff is weird. Now I've officially thought about it too much.

idk, interesting, imo, how he calls it "the 'dan and phil' concept"
re: 'friendly, approachable, and goofy...but real depth' / 'at first seems funny and harmless..feels like a community'
not the first time he's alluded to the disconnect bt him(&phil) and 'd&p' brand -
idk always interesting to me when that happens

Going back to the Conjuring 2 photos when they're both in black, I dunno why but I just have the feeling that the jacket Phil is wearing is Dan's. Maybe because it's black and has an zip. But I just felt like it gave off a Dan vibe. Of course, Phil could own something like that too. But my inner phan wants it to be Dan's.

Those shoes are pretty cool. Though I feel like these are more Phil's kind of shoes than Dan's.

I'm pretty sure that for there is a real divide between their youtube personalities and who they really are. So for example while I can believe that AmazingPhil and danisnotonfire aren't a couple, I do believe that Dan Howell and Phil Lester are one.

That is why I thought that Dan's shoes are more Phil's kind of thing.
Now I'm sad that they didn't have those shoes in Phil's size, otherwise they could have had matching shoes that light up.

they should have been blacklights. You're cheating Dan.
After the gator hat and the bling glasses now the disco shoes. He's becoming an american fast
Phil is normally the one rocking the americana style. Strike two for Blatant Plagiarism.

It appears that they do, and we all know that Dan is scared of trees, so I just don’t see how they can ever truly overcome this. #phandivorced may still be coming soon.

I can't believe Dan is literally wearing shoes that fucking light up, yet they're STILL better than those weird things that make his feet look deformed with several tumors.
Also Phil is wearing possibly my favorite jumper that he owns. He looks so good in black

IDK, I think play pretty close to who they are irl. The BBC show and the ls are unedited, so it would be hard to remain in character 100% of the time (if they were "in character.") Same with their collabs: would be difficult to play something you aren't. So, yea they may have more depth / things they don't talk about on-camera, but I think we see who they really are for the most part.
However, in the stage show, both overplay a bit (particularly Dan
no surprise there,) but that's part of the show's charm. (You can hear it in Dan's voice in #shoegate vid when he says "Alright, see you in a sec."
