Those pics reminded me of something I'd been meaning to point out...

Been thinking this for about a month now, and I know its always a sore point but fuck it imma say it anyway cos its positive and I'm a grown ass woman, I can take the heat: Phil looks to have put a bit of weight back on and for this I'm very happy.

I'm not even speaking from the trash can here (although I do think he looks better, but he always looks lovely) I think he just looks healthier. He was very very thin towards the beginning of the year. I can't remember exact time frames, but they were both looking like they'd shrunk at one point in time and they both look back to normal now. I'm not being melodramatic, weight fluctuations happen to everyone (especially if under pressure) so its nice to see they appear to have hit equilibrium again.

Gimme Dil. I've never been so pumped for Sims, its usually filler for me. Riddle me unsurprised when I find it underwhelming cos my phan expectations have been pumped too high

I was having an emotionally sucky day, and Phil's ls cheered me right up. I loved the Leslie bit He committed even though he was hesitant, and I just loved the utter joy on his face Also, T2 4lyfe, and love me some Neverending Story (ah ah ah, ah ah ah, ah ah ah).

The whole video made me feel kinda weird (maybe because I don't ship dil x tabitha) after all the hype D&P didn't seem super into it to me, maybe because they were walking on eggshells not saying anything that could be taken out of context or applied to their relationship, or maybe i just projected the uneasiness as i was expecting it to be a weird episode. Who knows.

Noteable things:

Dan wanted them to be the same age to get married........I'm sure you know what I'm getting at and why that's odd to me. It would make more sense if Tabitha was like a teen and Dil was an adult but he said Tabitha was a young adult sooooo

Dan mentioned cherry blossoms and I died

Dan and Phil's bachelor ("stag night"?) party will be pizza and TV, okay good to know

Dan seemed too concerned with this being gender role-y if you ask me as he kept mentioning it. He could've easily approached the subject better by stating a short disclaimer such as "as per tradition, before a wedding the couple stays apart, but we are by no means saying this is the only way to go or the correct way to go, it's just traditional, please don't read anything into it, we're not trying to force gender roles." But I don't really see that as having much to do with gender roles, as they took both Tabitha and Dil away from each other and gave them each a little bachelor/bachelorette party, they each did the same thing, i fail to see how that has much to do with gender roles, i think it has more to do with tradition. it's more gender role-y to have Dil propose rather than Tabitha isn't it? Does anyone have a clearer understanding and can enlighten me?

There's a major flaw in the sims game if random sims can ask out engaged sims

Interesting how Phil said he would chop off his hand cutting the cake at "a wedding" and didn't say "my wedding" yet he would clearly only be cutting the cake if it were his wedding. Just interesting that he removed the idea of him having a wedding a little bit there in his choice of words.

Great vid, I loved it! Phil looked SO excited and... relaxed? BUT (spoilerinos ahead)

where was the drama?? In the video they said that after everything Dil had gone through he deserved a nice, relaxed wedding. However, Dan promised there would be some drama happening.. why do you think they changed their mind? Or did he say it just for the sake of keeping us engaged and exicted?

I agree here. I think he was trying to cover his bases (so people wouldn't complain) but it did seem a bit excessive and out of place. I also think having a stag/doe has more to do with tradition than gender roles. Same sex couples do stag and stag and doe and doe parties/separate before wedding parties

Oh my god they actually do walk up to the altar at exactly 20:22 is that another coincidence or are they fucking with us? Like it fully would not surprise me if they were fucking with us. Not that anyone of sane mind thinks they're actually getting married in 2022 but they know the running joke about it

Anyway yeah I did really enjoy it, not as phan-tastic as I'd have hoped but having gauged their tone from the video itself I ain't mad at that - they were for sure walking on egg shells and making it non-personal even when it was weird in the sentence (i.e. the 'this is where I would totally cut my hand at a wedding') but I have sympathy for that. They managed to make it cute despite having to be careful and that's no mean feat, I think they did well

Age thing: there are specific blocks of ages in Sims for those unawares, and I can definitely see why they'd want Tabitha to be a grown ass adult especially since Dil is. Can't be having their teenage audience getting the impression they're down for a grown man to be marrying a YA girl - it wasn't so long ago Dan was regularly harassed with 'how young would you date?!?!?' so yeah. Makes sense. [If a bit hypocritical lololol]

Height talk was funny as you could physically see Dan choosing his words carefully.

Didn't disagree on a single wedding decision, did they their planning will go smoothly. Unless it already did and this is old hat to them I'm JK (or am I )

Okay real talk I loved it so much!! Can I first say that they looked gorgeous in their suits. Phil's eyes were speaking to me on another level Anyway super cute video! eevee agreed that the gender role keeping being brought up was unnecessary and out if place at times.

Northern Phil made a reappearance and killed me for the fifth time today. His random ramble about ties were so cute. And he seemed defensive of the posture/height discussion He was so chatty and happy in this one which is always great to see

It's funny when they had the stag party I kept laughing because in their own wedding they'd have to do one in separate days since they share their friends.

I was happy about the no single guys mentions but they didn't really project the scenario to themselves like they usually do with Dil and Tabitha- even though a wedding is completely different from a spa

Loved Phil's liveshow a lot, it had such a nice carefree vibe about it. Totally brightened my evening!

YTR was funny/giffable for once. Liked their outfits combination too.
5:45 - "Life is always against you, so when something goes together so perfectly, it's just like oooh nice feeling" - Phil basically explaining why the idea of Phan is "oddly satisfying" to so many people haha.

Sims vid was nice, but I can't really bring myself to care about the Sims characters lol (secretely hoped they'd skip the honeymoon/children/mansion parts and go straight to the death episode).
20:22 - vote for them doing it on purpose, don't believe in coincidences like this.
Both YTR and Sims are so dissectable, you could literally quote each phrase and project on Deppy.
