Well I just lurked through the whole thread and would like to say that I do not think Dan and Phil are 'queerbaiting', I think they're just..being themselves. Being cute, touchy friends. (or more, who knows?) Whatever they label themselves as relationship wise is not my business or anyone else's in my opinion unless they come out and say they're dating or something like that. I'm kind of upset that some people think they're all touchy just for views. Me and my best friend are touchy and stuff but that doesn't mean we're dating, we're just very close friends.

Sorry if this doesn't make any sense..I apologize.

At around 15:11 in the Festive DITL (and a few other places around that point in the video), you can see a Christmas card sitting by the fireplace in the background of the shot.

The front of the card seems to depict a dog:

I'm pretty sure it's from Dan's family. I can make out:

It seems like they've avoided being touchy for years, and people thought that was fake? Or they were very self-conscious about anything friendly / sweet with each other, and Dan got super salty at ANYTHING that might be gifed and analyzed later. Now they're easing up and THAT'S fake, too?

Nope. That's just not fair.

This is one of my favorite clips but whatever you want to think it means or doesn't, to me at least...THEY ARE CLEARLY BOTH DISTRESSED for showing a reaction here. (Sorry for shouting...it bothers me that they worried so much about every little thing so much.)

I'm so glad they're not as worried lately. I feel relieved for them, and their interactions seem more like "them" if you know what I mean? Sorry if that sounds preachy.

As for non-binary and gender roles and all of that...I know that's been a few pages ago...but a lot of us not-super-young (cough) people have trouble wrapping our heads around it. I have a non binary friend and I've learned a lot in the last year or so...but pronoun use? Gender neutral terms? Damn this stuff is freaking hard. I would never judge anyone else about it! I just hope I can keep from hurting someone I care about by accidentally misgendering them, etc.

Please just don't forget we're ALL on a journey... and being kind to ourselves and each other about new things to learn never hurts. (Sorry if that sounds a bit soapboxy...it probably is. I don't get to talk about this stuff many places...and my brother still DOES use gay as an insult. )

It looks like the first word is "I'm" but the last letter is like a j or y because it goes down, then it's like "Judy" or a "dy" then a smudge, then Dad? and D something, that D is calligraphic and very common, "and" .. December? it's another D anyway

Wait, which part are you talking about?

I feel like the first line says something like "J_y ___y to ____ about a/to __d." Just going by the shapes of the words and letters.

Edit: I feel like there's a strong possibility that the first line might have something to do with the front of the card? Idk, often when I get cards from people that are funny or reference some kind of inside joke between us, the person will mention that fact in their message.

I'm at the height of the 'omg exams are soon panic' time of year, so I'm extremely behind on this thread and honestly cannot face catching up right now, so just a quick post.
Glad the boys are home, seriously suffering from drought with no more gamingmas, but it's probably good for my productivity tbh
As for that christmas card, defo agree with you oqua on it being "Looking forward to seeing you soon" before the merry christmas, but I think afterwards might be "love & hugs" or "love + hugs" ? Looks like 3 words with the middle one really short to me anyway. I'd guess that it could be Mum, Dad, Adrian, Colin, and then maybe just a bunch of xxx's at the bottom? That's fairly common amongst my relatives but idk if other people do that too
No idea on the first line, but a joke about the picture or some other in-joke / reference is fairly likely tbh. I briefly thought I saw "Phil" as the fourth word, but that's probably just my goggles on a little too tight

Yep that's what I'm seeing too. I'm really struggling with that first line, mostly cause it really could be anything I guess I haven't got a fucking clue what's on the front of the card from the stills tbh, might go back and look at the video in slow-mo to check it out

At the beginning of the video, this card (and another smaller red one) are on the mantelpiece, and when Dan and Phil put the Christmas decorations up they move both cards to the floor, near the fireplace.

1:50. The card we are trying to decipher. It looks like people to me and there is something written at the bottom, beginning with T.
